Foreword
Honestly, there were lots of places that Taehyung would've preferred to be right now. The planetarium, home, maybe even at the dentist's. He shook his head, inching away from the train-sized Imugi* slithering towards him. Maybe not the dentist's.
As the monster's slitted eyes trained on him, the young man swallowed nervously. 'Any minute now,' he thought to himself while frantically looking around for anything that would serve as a weapon. Branches, shrubs, and a plastic wrapper. Maybe he could terrify the snake with modern pollution. Yes, that could work.
"I'm here - holy , what the hell is that thing?!" Ah, the horrified shrill of his best friend. How comforting.
And now, the Imugi had two tasty little hotdogs dancing in front of him. But Taehyung managed to take the momentary distraction to his advantage, sprinting toward Jimin with his hand outstretched. Immediately understanding, the other male raced toward him as well.
It took a split-second for the snake to respond, but it was a split second too late - as Taehyung and Jimin's hands touched, the area around them pulsed and the Imugi shifted into dust. There was a moment of dead silence as the two collapsed on the ground in fatigue.
"Ugh, I hate doing that," Jimin muttered as he lifted himself off the ground, "are you alright?"
Straightening out his muddy jacket, the other gave him a grin.
"Duh - we finally saw an Imugi! Do you know how rare they are?" he gave the ground a forlorn look, "I wish I'd brought my camera."
"You almost died."
"We almost die every day, Chim Chim. You can't dwell on the negatives."
"Go home."
