I woke up this morning like any other morning, in a huge rush. Quickly I skipped breakfast, swiped some gold eyeshow on my eyelids, and rimmed them in bright turquoise. Finishing off i applied winged eyeliner, mascara, and red lipstick. Feeling like an Egyptian queen, I grabbed my books and cell phone and ran out the door. It took me thirty minutes to get to Dr. Meyer's Greek mythology class and in the meantime, I decided to listen to Shinee to get pumped for the day. I am not a morning person, and although I look like I spend hours getting ready due to my bright makeup and love of costume jewelry, I really only take about 30 minutes from start to finish. My appearance was usually something of a conundrum to others, my mom was a makeup artist, and due to my love of bright colors, I often wore dramatic makeup during the day. Due to my height (5'8" or 170 cm) and unusual heritage (my Mexican grandfather married a Swedish woman lol, only in America) I discovered pretty early on that it is physically impossible for me to blend in, so I figured that I would stand out deliberately. I used makeup as a way to express my creativity and wore every shade of eyeshadow imaginable. It all started when someone told me as a teenager that I could never wear blue eyeshadow because I have brown eyes, I looked up my first tutorial online that night and gold and blue eyeshadow have been my favorite eyeshadow combination ever since.

Dr. Meyers Greek Mythology is my favorite and I am excited since I read the material last and feel fully prepared for class for once. As I pull into the parking lot and step out, I breathe in the fragrant aroma of fresh air that smelled lightly of blooming flowers. It's springtime here and for about two weeks the weather in Florida is absolute heaven. The sun is shining warmly, but just when it starts to become hot, a cool breeze blows through lightly scented wild flowers. As I walk to class amidst the controlled chaos of students rushing to their nest class, I stop and stare at the beauty around me. Days like this I want to find a sunbeam and curl up like a cat and take a long nap. The azaleas and crepe myrtle have decided to bloom simultaneously and it looks like a flor
