The Way To Happiness
The Way To Happiness
George’s POV
“George!!” Gui Gui sprinted into the house and starts bawling loudly, throwing herself onto my arms.
“Shhhh,” I shushed her, gently her head. “Everything’s going to be alright, it’s going to be alright.” I planted a peck on top of her head, hoping that would calm her down a bit, but she only sobbing louder and harder.
With no other choice, I stiffly stood here hugging her while her hair once in a while, letting her let it all out.
After a while, Gui Gui finally calms down a bit. I told her to have a seat on the couch in the living room as I went into the kitchen to make her some hot cocoa. I carefully pour the hot substance into the cup, but my head is focusing onto another thing.
Why the h3ll happened to Gui Gui? I haven’t since her in this state since years. Heck! I’ve never seen her crying this hard before. Seeing her in this state makes my heart squeezed painfully from the inside. The thought of someone hurting my beautiful angel is unbearable. I want to kill whoever it is, but of course, I have a pretty clear idea of who it might be responsible for her unstable state of mind right now. “Aaron Yan Ya Lun,” my mind automatically screamed.
“Thank you,” she mumbles quietly taking the cup of hot cocoa from me.
I took a seat right next to her and watch her taking a sip of the hot and milky liquid. “Hmmm…” she let out a satisfied moan. I smiled, tucking a peace of hair behind her ear.
“Feeling better?” I asked.
She looks at me and sheepishly nodded in respond.
I continue watching her as she slowly swallow down another gulp of the rich liquid down .
“George,” he called.
“Hmm?”
“W-Would you stop looking at me like that? It’s kind of uncomfortable,” she said, cheeks flushed a light shade of pink.
“What’s wrong with me looking at you?” I decided to to brighten up the mood. “Am I too handsome for you to handle?” I cheekily said.
The natural pink blush on her cheeks deepens. “Conceited,” she mumbles under her breath. I lightly chuckles as my hand reaches out and messes with her hair.
“Hey!” she protested, fixing her messed up hair and scrunched her nose up at me. Only if I could tell her how cute she looks right now.
“You’re so cute!” I unconsciously said out loud, pinching her nose.
“George!!” she whined, whacking my hand away.
I laughed her, but I realized that we need to discuss a more important matter. I stopped laughing as I turn my face into a more serious expression.
As if she can feel the sudden turn of thick atmosphere, Gui Gui turns to look at my direction, innocently. “What? Tired of teasing me already?” she questioned.
I shook my head. “Gui, tell me, what exactly happened?”
She didn’t answer. For a second, I thought she didn’t hear me, not that it’s possible since we’re only out 10 inches away from each other.
Slowly, her eyes traveled up into my own and stay there for a moment, making my heart pound heavily. “George,” she paused, “I want to move back to Australia.”
