chapter 2

「Love Story」━ unfolding。
CHAPTER 2
JUNE 2022

"Mother, are you ready yet?" Taekyung stood at the door of the house perfecting the tie around his collars as he waited for Darim to show up. Taekyung was excited for the reunion of course, seeing so many of his high school friends and having everyone gathered in one place again just like old times. At least most of them anyways. His smile faltered when he remembered the one he was hoping to show up the most was most likely not going to. He couldn't even get an invitation to her. Taekyung was still lost in thought when Darim strided out of her room with the clicking of her heels having gone unoticed.

"I'm ready but it doesn't seem like you are." Taekyung snapped out of his daze and humored Darim with a half hearted smile. The two want to get closer, especially since it's been a while since Taekyung's father has passed. The mother-son only had each other left and they were trying their very best to make up for lost times, but it'll take a lot of time for their relationship to become comfortable again.

It is 12 in the afternoon and the duo were the first to arrive at the restaurant, as expected. They were the ones to host the party so it's only right for them to be there to welcome the guests when they arrive. The two have separated ways to work on their individual parts for the party when Taekyung sees a familiar figure walk through the door.
"Song Mijeong!" Mijeong had a wide smile on her face seeing the fellow Star member and basically ran to him with open arms. Taekyung chuckled but embraced Mijeong in a big bear hug anyways.

"Man, if you're this excited to see me I wonder how you'll react to seeing her tonight."
"Her? As in-"

Mijeong nodded her head. As one of the star members Sophia had gotten close with, Mijeong took the extra steps to make sure the two of them were still in contact, even when Sophia lost contact with mostly everyone else because of her father. Which paid off because if not for her texting Sophia about the party last week, Sophia would not have even known about it. And to be able to bring the long lost love birds back together would ease a bit of Mijeong's curiosity. She has seen how close Taekyung and Sophia were throughout highschool and she had fully expected a beautiful love story to blossom. Sophia even mentioned to her that she would be confessing to Taekyung but that was all she knew. Everytime she mentioned Taekyung in their messages, Sophia always changed the topic by asking about Yoongi. In other words, Mijeong never found out what happened between the best friends and her curiosity has been growing since. This party was the chance to ease that curiosity and find some answers.

Mijeong and Taekyung exchanged small talk before Taekyung excused himself to get back to making sure everything for the banquet was going as planned. Being the first of the Jeguk students to arrive, Mijeong didn't know any of the other important figures who were mostly guests on Darim's level and decided to revel in the food instead. She grabbed a cup of punch as she checked out the design of the banquet and did a bit of people watching. She was too absorbed in her little thoughts that she didn't realize had Min Yoongi arrive and was headed towards her.

The boy had spotted her the moment he walked through the doors of the banquet rooms, her eyes vibrant and gleaming with curiosity as she looked towards the older crowd conversing with each other. And when he approached her, it was quite possibly the most awkward ing thing to have happened to anyone. The two basically stared at each other besides the simple greeting, Mijeong sipping away at her punch and Yoongi rubbing his neck. Their relationship wasn't always a chatty one as they were comfortable enough around the other to let the soothing silence to acompany them, but time has changed that comfort.

"You wanna go walk around?" The two were awkward and being in a crowd of all these other older folks only made it worse. Maybe if they went somewhere more quiet, things would get better. The two walked around the hotel but eventually ended up walking all the way over to Jeguk, a ten minute walk from the hotel. After much persuading on Yoongi's part, the security guard even let the two into the school. Memories of their school days came bubbling in their minds at the familiar surrounding.

Taehee, Jongin, Sehun and Ian all met up at Taehee and Jongin's place to attend the party together. Sehun and Ian were there relatively early and when Sehun got too impatient waiting for the couple in the car, he went barging up to their studio apartment.
"Dude why are you still not ready?" Sehun was obviously annoyed but Jongin just waved him off.
"I've got a wife who needs to be beautiful in the presence of company."
"Are you trying to make me jealous of the married life. Or yours really."
"I mean, it's not everyday you get someone as beautiful as Taehee as a wife. A widely known actress on top of that too."
Sehun rolled his eyes at the compliments rolling off Jongin's tongue.
"I think I know what to get you for your birthday now."
"What?"
"A pair of ing glasses. At a prescription of 700 degrees. Maybe 1000."
"Shut up both of you idiots! Can't a girl have some peace around here!?" The two boys visibily flinched at Taehee's yelling. Even their three year old son, Taeoh, fell on his as he was waddling around the apartment. Jongin cooed at his little boy and swooped him from the floor to make sure he wasn't hurt.
"Mommy is scary huh."
"I hear you Jongin!"
"You heard wrong!"
"I might have heard wrong but my nose works fine. And if you don't switch the cologne you're wearing, I refuse to be in public with you!"
"Jesus christ, Sehun. Control your cousin!"
"Why is your beautiful wife so snappy today damn."
"Shut it both of you or I'll make sure to take another two hours to get ready!" The two immediately shut up at the threat and Taeoh looked up at them with his finger at his mouth.
"Shh"

The group finally made it to the banquet and everyone exchanged greetings with the club members who were already present. And as well as some aquaintances they knew since Taehee was a popular actress, Jongin is a model but currently more focused on his dance school, Sehun the youngest son of Oh Kiho, and Ian one of the worlds youngest judges. A very good one at that unless it had to due with matters of the heart. Kim Ian always valued the facts more than intuition since facts can't be changed. They are visible and it is hard to argue against. Gut feelings on the other hand means nothing to him especially with the fact that he doesn't have enough confidence to trust his own thoughts unless he could back it up with evidence. Taehee and Jongin left to greet some familiar people from the showbiz while Sehun and Ian chose to stay by the sides sipping on their champagne and chatting amongst themselves.

"So did the date yesterday go well?" Ian shook his head at Sehun's question. Over the years, he has been attempting to get over Minhi by going on various dates. Even Sehun has gotten a new girlfriend, which Ian helped pursuade Sehun to do and Sehun wanted to do the same for his best friend. It was about time the boys got over the girl who left them without warning. But as much as they told themselves that, Ian couldn't do it though he is happy to know Sehun was taking small steps to seal his wound.

"Hey, Irene's here." Ian pointed to the entrance of the banquet and Sehun escorted Irene from the door over to the table. Not wanting to thirdwheel, Ian greeted Irene and made his exit to chat with the other club members. And everytime he saw someone show up at the door from the corner of his eye, a part of him had hoped that it would be Minhi. He had heard from Mijeong that Minhi would come. Sophia has kept in contact with Minhi and after Mijeong asked her about the party, Sophia relayed the same question to Minhi. Sehun has yet to know this as Ian found out after he went to converse with their old classmates and Sehun was still keeping Irene company.

Minhi was a bumbling mess. She hated dresses and even though she's grown up and has had to wear heels on more occasions than when she was a teen, she still dreaded those monsters of a thing. Even if she prefers heels over flats. Sophia's message was quite late and Minhi had to prepare for the party in the time span of a week so she randomly picked out a dress, stole a pair of heels from her mother, and hopped onto the plane back to South Korea. If not for the fact that she needed hotel connections to make vacation packages for her travel agency, the girl would've been too lazy to show up at the reunion. Sure it was a reunion and Minhi was curious about everyone, she was still way too detached and carefree to have strong feelings and motivation to come. As she made her entrance into the banquet room, she was starting to feel nervous. How would her classmates react to her appearance? Would they ask about why she left? Would they even still remember her? That was when someone came up from behind, lifting her up. The girl yelped and nearly cried. Who the ....

"Ian?" The boy set the girl back down on her feet and grinned down at the girl. Though Minhi has taken to one inch heels, she was still remarkably tiny, standing at 155cm currently with the heels.
"I see you haven't grown since the last time I met you." Ian teased lightly as he pinched the girl's nose to which the girl pouted.
"Why do you have to remind me?!" Ian chuckled at her response then pointed over to where Sehun was.

Sehun heard when Minhi yelped. And he knew that voice anywhere. He whipped his head towards the entrance where he heard the voice and saw the girl in Ian's arms. He watched their exchange and as much as he wanted to do the same thing as Ian, Sehun was not going to forgive Minhi just like that. He promised himself that. To have some pride and not let the girl who deserted him break down all his walls just from her appearance. But when she bounced over with Ian, that bright smile on her face and arms actually extended towards him, Sehun couldn't resist himself. It's been a long time since she's seen the and Minhi had to admit, she missed him. So she couldn't even stop herself when her arms extended towards him. Sehun pulled Minhi's outstretched arm and she fell into his hug, nearly killing the girl with the strong hold. She was as short as anyone knew and Sehun was a full feet taller than her. So when he pulled her arm like that, she fell face first into his chest and he had his arms wrapped around her head. If it wasn't because of her muffled yelling, the boy probably wouldn't have realized the girl could've suffocated just now.

"Yah! I'm a girl you ing idiot. Be more gentle!" Irene was watching the exchange, eyes wide.

She knew who this girl was.

There wasn't much more happening between Sehun and Minhi at this point though as more of the other club members whisked Minhi away. Jaejoon was the first to approach the group of four first though was met with a look of horror coming from Minhi when he called her panda noona.

"Uhm, but do I know you?"
"It's Michie!" Seeing Minhi's mouth basically drop to the floor caused the male to laugh.
Even Ian and Sehun were confused. Who the hell was this man.
"It's Jaejoon guys!" Minhi broke the tension, resolving the confusion and gave Jaejoon a hug. The girl really hated skinship but I guess she missed her high school friends way more than she ever realized.
"Ten years have done you really good I see. You know I see you in the magazines sometimes but I never knew it was you. My god, this is awesome. I wonder if she knows?"
At the mention of "she", Jaejoon, or now known mostly by his model name, Angelo, instinctively looked towards the doors hoping to see Yongsun. Too bad no amount of times he looked at the entrance would change the fact that she wasn't going to show up at the banquet tonight.

Even the usually quiet Tae Junyong was pratically squealing when he ran over to greet Minhi, breaking the conversation between her and the very good looking man who he now learned is Jaejoon. But then again, Junyong has never been quiet around Minhi. Although Junyong was quiet for the most part during the Jeguk years, he had attached himself to Minhi after the girl initiated a conversation and seeing her relationships with other guys full of teasing and bickering, he felt comfortable enough to do that as well. During his first two years at Jeguk, Minhi was his personal walking entertainment as he made it his goal to annoy her. She was so dramatic that everytime she told a story it was like watching a movie.

For the most part, Junyong was glad that he basically latched onto Minhi and even joined Star Club with her. Because that's where he met the love of his life, Lee Minah. Minah and Minhi were similar in terms of their vulgarity and violence but Minah was more daring than Minhi and spent more time performing dangerous stunts and carrying out hazardous actions. Junyong took it to himself to look out for Minah because of that since Minhi very clearly (even if it wasn't to the girl herself) she had a good number of people to look after her. Junyong and Minah got used to taking care of each other even if they didn't talk much and their trust for each other blossomed into something more. Neither of the two are world famous or filthy rich but their love story was the most successful out of everyone so far. The two even have plans to get married as soon as they save up enough for it.

And speaking of marriages....

"Yah Heera this isn't the way to act in public!"
"Can we get married now?" Darim's guests were basically astounded by the ongoing scene. Baekhyun took a quick glance at his father who he attended the party with to see a look of embarassment. Good thing the paparazzi wasn't allowed in the event.
"If you let go of me, I'll think about it." Heera immediately released her grip on Baekhyun's waist and beamed up at him.
"Remember to think about it! You know this is the 748th time I've confessed right? I can feel you saying yes soon hehe!" Baekhyun watched Heera prance away with a smile that died quickly.
"If I say yes, would it really be that simple?"

Baekhyun was Heera's sunbae of two years but the girl was never shy with her feelings for him, making a confession everyday at the most random times. It's probably because of Heera's usual attitude that made Baekhyun believe it was all just a joke. But the girl did it everyday for two years until his graduation that he couldn't help but have his heart waver for the girl. Though he still refuses to admit to this.
"It's been ten years. It can't be possible that she still has feelings for me. She's obviously doing this for jokes."

7991592_orig.png

"Soojin can you please hurry up a bit?! At this rate, the party is going to be over by the time we get there!" Soojin rolled her eyes.
"The only thing you're worried about is food, Kang Taegun."
"Hey! Not true. It's been so long since we've seen everyone, I actually miss the club members okay." Usually, Taegun was pretty quiet when it came to expressing his feelings and opinions but he has been close with Soojin for the past ten years that he has gotten comfortable enough to say whatever was on his mind. Not that Soojin minded at all.

"Or you're just late for your job. You should have been the first one there if you signed up to be the photographer."
"I mean, I'm only like ten minutes late. Who's going to realize?!"
Their little squabble made the journey to the venue seem much shorter as the two arrived around 1. With his camera in hand, Taegun got right to work while Soojin socialized a bit with the familiar faces around.

Most notably remembered as one of the Baekho princes for his kindness, Taegun had a good amount of his own fangirls. Too bad the only one who ever caught Taegun's eyes was none other than someone who was similar to him in terms of popularity amongst the girls and his best friend. And with his single status, some of the ladies attending the party quickly attempted to make a move on the lad. Taegun had a really bad habit of rejecting all advances towards him, his blunt side making their appearance but he was also too nice to let a girl walk away with her feelings hurt. His contradicting actions made him a confusing person which did not make admirers stray away.

With much effort, Taegun distanced himself from the girls to get back to work, mostly after Darim scolded him for slacking on his job. The girls mumbled some words of apology to Taegun then dispersed, eyeing the other single men at the event.

Soojin made her way over to the food, aka where lonely or awkward people go so others don't bother them. She was sipping on one of the drinks, faking a smile at the people who approached her,  and was too busy people watching to notice Nam Joohyuk hidden amongst the tall basketball players. He was part of the team back in Jeguk so that made sense. Joohyuk originally asked Soojin to attend the reunion with him although she waved him off after Jeguk's basketball team gave him a call. When he caught sight of Soojin, Joohyuk almost immediately excused himself from the crowd he was in and made his way towards her.
She was as breathtaking as whenever he laid his eyes on her. No matter what Soojin did, Joohyuk loved. He accepted everything about her, even the fact that she is in love with another person. As long as she wants him again, Joohyuk would take her back.  Joohyuk couldn't help but smile watching Soojin. Sure she may ignore his advances but he's sure time can change that.

That's when Joohyuk saw a familiar face walking towards Soojin

Soojin was still busily people watching from her own little corner, sipping her champagne when she felt arms wrap around her from behind. The girl's instinctive move was to elbow the ert in his guts. The nerves of this man.

"That huge smile on your face after giving me the elbow of death is quite inhumane." But Soojin ignored his words, her smile growing bigger.
"I'm glad to see you are so happy to see me."
"I'm glad you know that." Soojin's words took Kangjoon by surprise, the latter nearly spitting out the red wine he had take from one of the waiters' tray.
"Wh-at?"
"I missed you." And Soojin further supported her statement by wrapping her arms around Kangjoon's waist. Kangjoon obviously wasn't going to let this opportunity pass him by as he set down his cup and replicated her movement. The two's embrace continued until-
"You know it's easy to get a room, considering we're in a hotel." Soojin and Kangjoon turned their head towards the intruder though their hold was still on each other. When they did see who it was though, the two awkwardly let go and stepped back.
"I wouldn't mind getting a room if you paid for it."
"Seo Kangjoon, midfielder of South Korea National Football Team can't even pay for his own hotel room?"
"Why spend if you can get something for free?"
"Do you like not pay for dates either?"
"If I paid for all the dates, that'll be ion basically. It's like I'm paying the girl for her services."

Joohyuk was rendered speechless at this point. Sure Kangjoon knows it's a gentlemen's thing to pay for the dates but when it came to Joohyuk, Kangjoon was willing to say anything to make that boy speechless. Besides, his words were true. Their rivalry started ever since they both made it onto the school's sports team : Joohyuk on basketball and Kangjoon on the soccer team. Of course, the immature boys always wanted to argue which sports team was actually the best, even though they play different things and all represent one school. It was a somewhat common rivalry between the athletic teams of Jeguk. There had to be competition for everything. But when Soojin stepped into the scenario, that's when the fire started. Mostly of anger on Kangjoon's side because he was the one who was supposed to confess to Soojin that day. Not Joohyuk. And the two began to date since. Joohyuk was also the whole reason Kangjoon dropped Soojin out of his life all the past years, showing up at the reunion just because he wanted to take a glance at her.

Kangjoon had a smirk on his face at Joohyuk getting quiet. And Soojin swore she could cut a grilled cheese sandwich with that tension so she stepped up between the boys. She pushed them apart and Joohyuk took this chance to leave. God this feeling really hurt. Of course he was the only one who walked away while Kangjoon remained planted in his spot, smirking down at Soojin. And despite Soojin rolling her eyes at Kangjoon's smirk, Joohyuk also saw the smile tugging at her lips. She was looking at Kangjoon the way he always looked at her. And Kangjoon had the same look on his face.

"Hyung!" Lee Jinki has just stepped into the banquet when Ian came sprinting over to give Jinki a big bear hug. Jinki was the assistant teacher at the time and was also one of the people most students looked up to. Jinki was the type of man who was too wise for his age so he was sought out by many asking for help or guidance. Ian on the other hand, was someone Jinki took under his wing voluntarily. While Ian had his friends to hold him back from trouble or get him out of it, Jinki was the only person in his life to really push him towards a dream. Jinki supported Ian through everything and has made a significant impact in where Ian ended up today.

Ian wasn't the only one who Jinki had a significant impact on, as can be seen by the lady by his side, Jung Haeun. Also best friend of Minhi and on the awkwardest terms you can imagine with Ian,  the two can barely whisper a hello to each other. Jinki was 22 when he became a teacher assistant and mentor for the clubs. Despite the six year age difference between him and Haeun, the two formed a friendship. Jinki was well aware of the situation at hand though and kept his distance from Haeun when he felt they were getting too close. Their contact with each other ended quickly. It wasn't until Jinki decided to become a film director, did he contact Haeun. Haeun has made a name for herself in the acting industry by then, becoming popular through a television show as the first asian female main character.  When Jinki called her, she accepted the role. This was all back in 2017 and the two remained in close contact until 2020 when Jinki finally confessed and the two enter a relationship. Their relationship has been going well, even with the constant worry in the back of Haeun's mind. Even coming to the party was making her nervous because there was someone's face she really could do without. But it seems like luck was not on her side.

"Honey, this is Lee Taemin." Said person froze when he saw the girl his friend walked up to him with. Haeun couldn't look the man in the eyes after hearing the name, muttering a quick hello as she faced the floor. Jinki thought this was just Haeun's shy side resurfacing. They did had to greet a lot of people and the social gathering was probably draining Haeun's energy.
"Jinki can we leave early? I have a shooting to do early tomorrow and we've seen most of the people we came here to see."
"Of course, just let me notify the others we're heading out. Stay here and wait for me." Haeun was going to protest but Jinki has already unhooked his arm from hers and walked off. Haeun took this chance to walk away as well, fast enough before Taemin could even say anything as Minhi charged between them.

"Don't you dare ing touch her, you ." By now, heads were turning, forcing Taemin to walk away quietly. He had an image to keep as a singer afterall. Besides, he had another chance coming.
7991592_orig.png
"He is so cute! Taeoh and Jeongguk could become friends!" Son Jina got excited as soon as she saw Taehee and the little boy in her arms. Jongin had walked off to get something for Taehee to munch on, possibly helping in getting her to stop complaining about everything.
"Uhm yeah but Taeoh is 3 years old and Jeongguk is 3 months old. That'll have to wait a while," Taehee deadpanned. Jina looked up at Taehee in a bit of shock at the attitude infested respond. This wasn't much like the Taehee she knew. But then again, it's been 10 years and people change. But okay let's not forget Jina's attitude was quite similar to Taehee just now. And that was when she was pregnant with Jeongguk. And with some amazing woman intuition, Jina started to squeal, wide smile on her face.
"What's so funny?" Taehee tried to sound polite but she was god damn starving. Her useless "husband" is taking an eon to just grab something so her patience was dropping at a very quick rate.
"You're pregnant aren't you?!" From Taehee rejecting all the alcohol passing her and the way every little thing seemed to get under her skin, Jina knew.

Crash!

"Is that true babe!?" Jongin bowed apologetically at the waiter who came over to clean up the mess he maid, offering a good amount of tips before dashing over to Taehee and grabbing her arms.
Taehee rolled her eyes. "This is obviously all your fault."

Jina wrapped her arms around her husband, Park Jinyoung aka the guy who was nice enough to help her lie to the crowd. And at the same time, the devil in disguise.  The two looked at each other as they laughed at Taehee complaining about Jongin being too loud, and infesting their baby with his stupidity if he doesn't pick up his act in public.

"Don't you want a second baby too babe?"
"Jeongguk was just born three months ago!! I'm going to need to rest a while. Like ten years a while."
Jinyoung pouted a bit at her response. "But Jeongguk would be lonely without a sibling!"
"Let's not talk about baby making during our reunion okay." Jina looked at her friends who were basically staring at them. Jinyoung was so focused on getting a yes from Jina he didn't see the others were listening. Or rather, he didn't care. Jinyoung flashed an impish smile at her friends as he whispered into Jina's ears, "Do you want me to tell them the truth then?"
"Park Jinyoung! You can not expect that to still work. It's been ten years!!"
"So about Jeongguk's little brother..."
"Fine, not in ten years. But at least a year later!" Jinyoung laughed at Jina's response, giving her a peck on the cheeks before heading off to grab some things for Jina to drink and maybe somethings Jeongguk could munch on.
"Soooo... What secret?"
 7991592_orig.png
Taekwoon was fidgeting around as Inyoung tried to put the tie on him, having a bit of fun as he saw Taekwoon get so antsy.
"How can you be more nervous about the reunion than when I proposed to you for the second time?"
"There's no reason to feel nervous around you."
"Do you not think I might not be able to handle another rejection from you?"
"No." Inyoung was slightly hurt by Taekwoon's words but he knew his boyfriend was never the type to be good at speaking. Inyoung remembered when he first proposed to Taekwoon over a candlelight dinner. The atmosphere was nice and Inyoung whipped out a ring as he got on his knees. He didn't even have a chance to speak when Taekwoon closed the box.

"I don't think we're ready for this step yet." That was a huge blow towards Inyoung and they had a fight over that shortly after, but Taekwoon had hugged him from behind and begged him not to leave. The two talked over the situation at hand and althought Inyoung had to agree that the world wasn't ready for them, especially with Taekwoon being a celebrity, he'd still like to hear Taekwoon say yes. When he tried again a second time, a year or two after the first one, Taekwoon had the nerves to roll his eyes at the sight of the ring.
"Didn't we discuss this?"
"I mean we don't need to tell anyone. This is about us."
"Not when I think about my family, my parents."
Inyoung laughed and smacked Taekwoon. "Lighten up! It's a joke. If you had seen your reaction oh my god. Priceless." Inyoung was laughing, too unnaturally while Taekwoon just stared. Sighs it really hurts to be rejected twice.

As the two stepped into the banquet, Taekwoon left Inyoung's side seconds later to head towards another girl while Inyoung just awkwardly laughed as he greeted his friends. No one knew about his and Taekwoon's relationship so maybe Taekwoon was trying to keep it a secret. Nobody cared that his "friend" left his side so soon anyways to talk to another girl since that's where most of the men's interest were. But again, the feeling wasn't nice. He didn't even get to speak a word.

Bang Eunrin was surrounded by a lot of her old classmates, mostly people who wanted to brag about knowing a celebrity as a friend when Taekwoon reached her area. He was walking slow, dragging his feet along the concrete as a matter of fact, thinking of how to apologize. He hurt her and he hurt her bad. He knew that. But the more he watched her interact with everyone, smile on her face as she told stories of her idol life as if it was the most glamorizing thing, he let his mouth slip.
"You haven't changed, still trying to get everyone's attention." He had whispered this into her ear from behind and when the others saw the two celebrities interacting, decided to leave them to their own world.
that's not what I wanted to say.

Eunrin stared at Taekwoon. Are you serious?
"Go take your opinion, roll it up, shove it in your , and yourself with it."
Now it was Taekwoon's turn to stare. The once shadow of Jeguk high was now cursing at him. Of course only within his earshot because as a well known rapper herself, Eunrin had an image to keep too. And Eunrin had stormed off before he got the chance to say anything else. Karma's a . Eunrin couldn't stop fuming to herself. The nerves of this . Sure she had a crush on him back in high school and her awkward as usual self might have made things embarassingly obvious but for Taekwoon to accuse her of being his friend for his popularity and looks pissed her off. Taekwoon was a former alumni at Jeguk, graduating at the year of 2008 as one of the star soccer players. But he's never been good at academics, a miracle he graduated from Jeguk actually. But college was even worse, especially when he focused all his time on the unversity's soccer team.

When he came back to Jeguk to help with coaching the soccer team, the coach had personally asked Eunrin to help tutor Taekwoon. Because the girl was as much as a shadow one could imagine, Baekho had forgotten to add her name to the tutor roster. And even when she had raised her hand, everybody was already forming groups so she was left out again. So the girl left the club room, unnoticed by everyone except for Jaejoon though he just waved it off as the girl going for a bathroom break before all hell broke loose. Eunrin ran into the soccer coach who actually knows her as one of the geniuses as she aimlessly walked around. After asking a bit about the tutoring and Eunrin telling him with shame in her voice that everyone else had assigned groups and she was an extra, the soccer coach got excited.
"No worries Eunrin! I actually have someone who would definitely need some tutoring help from you. It's perfect!" So they were introduced to each other and Eunrin spent the next two years tutoring Taekwoon. As quiet as Taekwoon was, Eunrin realized that Taekwoon was actually nice. Very nice. And a crush started to form for him.

Inyoung was dragged away by his friends but when he saw Jiyeon, he pulled himself away.
"Hey."
"Hey, how have you been?"
"Just the usual. Teaching dance and stuff. What about you?"
"Just the usual. Working at the hospital and stuff." Inyoung cracked a smile which made Jiyeon smile as well.
"So where's your partner for the night?"
Jiyeon nudged her head at a certain direction, "I came with Miyu and her boyfriend. You?"
"Oh I came with my friend and current roommate. He used to go to Jeguk too but I didn't meet him until the dancing school. Such a coincidence huh."
"Are you-," Jiyeon played with the rim of her wine glass, looking away from Inyoung's eyes,  " dating anyone now?" She attempted to seem neutral as she asked about his current status which made Inyoung all the more awkward. What was he supposed to say in this situation? They may be friends but Inyoung still wasn't ready to disclose his and Taekwoon's relationship and because he wanted to respect Taekwoon's decision. Inyoung can understand what Taekwoon means now.
"There's someone I'm interested in."

Hwan Miyu was wandering around trying to find her fiance but when she saw Kisu chatting up a storm with a bunch of other models who showed up at the party, or just pretty girls in general, Miyu couldn't find it in her to walk up to Kisu. So she began to look around again, for a spot to sit down and get away from everything happpening right now. She had to keep a bright attitude, she didn't want to hurt the baby. When she sat down at a sofa in the corner of the room, eating the food she grabbed, was when she saw a man's feet stop just before her. Miyu looked up from her plate.

"You coming to the party with that leech is the reason you're alone right now."
"Not true. I have Taehyung too but he just went to get me more food."
Hoseok turned to look at the food section and there was no Taehyung. Miyu frowned.
"He must have went for a bathroom break. He drank like ten cups of wine."
"How have you been? Still tripping over your own two feet?" Hoseok had a grin on his face while Miyu's frown deepened.
"That's honestly, none of your business." So much for keeping a bright attitude. Though she was grateful when she saw Kisu walk over to her.
"Hey jagi. Making sure to feed our baby huh." Miyu nodded as Kisu took a seat next to her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders while the other rubbed her belly. Miyu stole a glance at Hoseok. She expected him to leave and when he really did, was that disappointment in the back of her head? Once Kisu saw Hoseok walk away to chat amongst his other friends, Kisu went back to hitting up other girls. He had successfully gotten Miyu's attention from another man and that just fed his ego. Who's attention can't he get now? He even cast Hoseok one last glance, a very smug smirk on his face as he perfected his tie.

Yoo Haena had just stepped a foot into the banquet when something flashed in her face. A camera to be exact. And why was she not surprised to find the very person behind the camera to be Kim Yejun? He still had that playful smile, and once all too annoying eyes that seemed to stare into her soul. Yejun grinned at Haena's lack of expression, and not bothered at all by it, he ran up to Haena to embrace her in a big hug. Haena's poker face was soon replaced with a warm smile and she hugged him back. Although once Yejun pulled away, Haena resumed her poker faced.

The two caught up during the banquet. Enough so that Haena eventually gave up trying to keep her poker face on for the rest of the night. So eventually, Haena had asked Yejun for his number. Imagine the man's surprise. They had parted on good terms, as good a term as people who never confessed but still love each other after ten years did.

"I guess my cute, y, and adorable side finally appealed to you." And he gave his signature wink accompanied with a V sign again. Haena nearly chucked her phone at his head. She'd like to believe she is more mature now though the boy shouldn't test his luck.

Song Minho had arrived at the banquet later into the night, but the first thing he decided to do was drown himself in liquor. Mainly because he sees his ex-girlfriend in the arms of a very handsome fellow who he laters finds out is named Song Joongki. And boy if the way they stuck together like glue didn't piss him off. Minho has been working on his anger issues, even going to therapy for it but seriously, who wouldn't get mad in this situation? The fight they had was so stupid. So so petty and ridiculous. But then again, they were teenagers at the time. Immature and idiots. But for their relationship to end just like that and the next time he saw her was ten years later made him realize that he was angry more of because he realized that him and his ing anger was the real reason that brought their relationship down. The irony of that.

So when Minho saw the godforsaken lovers finally part ways, Minho went up to Kang Dahyun, pulling her to the side.
Dahyun was visibly uncomfortable with seeing Minho and tried to pull her hand out of his. Minho's hold on her tightened.
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry. To apologize for the hurt you must've felt. For that day." Shocked by his sudden apology, Dahyun remained speechless though that was quickly replaced with annoyance.

"Mino!" The same girl who caused their breakup was with Minho and calling him by a bizarre nickname she's never heard of. Minho seemed to have forgotten Dahyun was there as he wrapped his arms around Nam Seungwon, his bestfriend and his whole childhood. He had loved her for so long though his feelings were never returned. Instead, Seungwon was in love with Lee Seunghoon and they've been together for as long as he could remember. They were a couple during their whole high school and even now, they're still together. Seeing them together always reminded Minho that he made a good choice to let someone else into his heart but he ruined that. Dahyun stalked off from who she suppose was a couple with Minho and that they've been dating for the past ten years. Once the childhood best friends broke away from each other with Seunghoon making his way over, was when Minho finally realized that Dahyun had left.

"Was that her from High School?" Seungwon questioned and was replied with a simple nod from Minho.
"You know, you never introduced us to each other. To think I'm your best friend!" Seungwon slapped Minho slightly but she couldn't help herself from feeling a bit sour.

Taehee and Jina weren't the only ones to join in on the children talk, Baek Sora approached the mother-children nearly as soon as she arrived. Seeing as she was alone and could really deal without the eyes of the crowd as she walked across the banquet looking like the next single mother.

"It's so nice to see you guys!" Sora has never been close to the Star members but she really didn't want to be alone right now. If it meant faking it til she makes it, Sora can easily do that. With Sora to randomly walk up to Taehee and Jina as if they were ever best pals, or even friends to begin with, irked the pregnant woman. But she also witnessed the walk of shame Sora had to go through for coming alone with a child. So she decided to keep shut. Jina on the other hand, was very much excited about the new addition in their little maternity club.

"She's so pretty! Just like her mother!" Sora thanked Jina on her daughter's behalf and introduced Woo Ahra to the surrounding two. Mostly because her quiet daughter was getting quite a bit of shock at the size of the event and the amount of people here. As soon as they had stepped through the doors, Ahra had buried her head in the nape of her mother's neck.

"How old is Ahra? She looks around the same age as Taeoh, maybe they can be playmates!" Jina seemed to be the only one who was really excited about this whole thing though. Taehee, she wasn't really feeling it and decided to change the topic.

"You came alone tonight?"
Sora nodded her head in response, "Jiho couldn't make it because of work. Being the manager of a girl group is more important than the reunion and his family I guess."

Sora was usually well composed in public, mostly known for being a quiet girl so she always had pent up frustrations. When they pile up enough, Sora mostly resorts to talking about the person behind their back. Old habits are hard to break, even when it came to her husband. But then again, is Jiho really her husband or is it only under law? As soon as Sora finished what she was saying, tension remained, leaving the others to feeling too awkward to say something.

"Mommy, can we get something to eat?" Sora immediately softened at Ahra's voice and gave her daughter a gentle smile.
"Of course! I heard they have your favorite pudding tonight!"

As soon as Wu Yifan stepped through the doors of the banquet, he was swarmed by the fangirls he had acquired for being rich and single at the given point. Sure Yifan may have a daughter, but most of the girls after him was really only interested in his wealth. Poor little Sophia became so overwhelmed by the crowd that she pulled her hands from her father's and ran off for some peace.

When Yifan realized his right hand was now grabbing air, he pushed through the crowd of girls, scanning the area for his daughter. That was until, he saw who she was with. His heart welled up in happiness. His little angel was with Jang Yerin, his first love and best friend who he mistakenly abandoned. There hasn't been a day where Yifan regretted breaking up with Yerin ten years back but there was no other way around it. Yet the minute Sophia was born, Yifan couldn't help but momentarily not regret marrying the woman of his father's choice. Sophia is the most important girl in his life. Seeing Yerin and Sophia building lego together made him crack a smile. He was going to go fetch his daughter and take the chance to talk to Yerin. How has she been, what's she up to in life? Does she have someone she's seeing, if she's married?

Though this chance was ripped from him when he felt someone's arms link with his. Yifan turned to see Jung Sooyeon or better known as Jessica. Oh boy this was going to be bad. Sophia just had to look up right now and run over to her daddy. When Yifan entered Yerin's line of sight, she let out her usual gleaming smile though that was quickly replaced with a look of disgust when she caught sight of the girl linking her arms with Yifan.

You have got to be ing kidding me.
7991592_orig.png
Jung Soojung watched as Jessica ran up to Kris and decided to not partake in what would most likely become a pda-fest so she too, made her way towards the drinks. She reached for a cup of wine as she looked around the banquet for a familiar face when she felt her hand come in contact with someone else's hand. Soojung immediately retracted her hand, looking up at the tall male to offer an apology but was left speechless. Ji Kangchi, too, couldn't say a word when he realized the girl was Soojung.

The awkward silence stayed for a while until Kangchi spoke, "So uhm, how have you been?"
"I've been good. You?"
Kangchi nodded his head in response. And there was silence again, the two scanning the banquet due to the shyness of not being able to look at each other. As Soojung's eyes wandered, she saw the novel in Kangchi's hands and let out a giggle.
"Still with the novels, huh."
"Ye-" Their conversation was cut short when someone called Kangchi's name. Sooyoung walked over with a grin on her face.
"How long does it take you to get something to drink jeez."
"Oh right yeah, here you go." Kangchi grabbed a glass and handed it to Sooyoung, then took a glance at Soojung. She was visibly not as happy, pointing her finger towards the other side of the banquet.
"I'm going to go," she mouthed.  Kangchi just nodded his head, watching as she left. It wasn't like he had relation with Soojung to make her stay.
"Oh man, you have got to try this mille crepe, Kangchi!!" Sooyoung nudged her boyfriend, successfully getting Kangchi's attention.
"And you have got to wipe all that stain off your mouth, you man." Kangchi grabbed a napkin to help Sooyoung wipe off the cream surrounding . Was this disappointment he was feeling because he didn't get a decent chance to talk with Soojung or that he wouldn't be able to read his novel now that Sooyoung was here?

"It was nice seeing you again, we should meet up some time." Bae Eura nodded her head in agreement with Myungsoo's words. So he proceeded to hand Bae Eura his phone so she could input her number, both of them with a toothy grin on their face. You could say Myungsoo and Eura have always had a rocky relationship. Polar opposites from their personality to interests, these two were more notable for the only common thing between them, the hatred they have for each other. That mutual dislike formed this competitive relationship between them. They may not always want the same thing, but they'll fight the other for it regardless. So when the school found out they were actually dating, it caused a huge commotion. They couldn't be more different than night and day, and they made it seem like going to hell would be a better option to being in the same room with the other. No one would have been able to guess.

But when graduation came around, their contact broke off quickly. These two were really seeing each other for the first time in ten years and had much to catch up on. More than the timespan of this event would allow.

Eura and Myungsoo heard someone tap the microphone and the music stop, cueing them to look towards the stage. There, Jeguk's retiring principle gave her speech but the most notable part was her heartfelt thanks to the graduates of the years '12-'14, the ones who kickstarted Jeguk's rise in national rankings. And while Jeguk may not have made it to number one, Darim was able to learn through her students and her son specifically what was most important to be first in. And that was not simply school ranking.

When Darim was finished with her speech, Taekyung took over the stage just at the moment Sophia arrived at the banquet. He had pulled a chair up to the stage, gotten a guitar from somewhere, and began to strum the first few chords of "Best Friend" by Jason Chen. He had a nervous smile on his face as him and Sophia exchanged looks but the nervousness disappeared as soon as he started singing the song and the lyrics reminded him of why he was doing what he is doing right now. As his performance neared its end, and Sophia was already moved to tears, a bunch of the club members had walked on stage with last minute posterboards. Be Mine written in large thik font was visible even to Sophia whose eyes were blurred from tears. Taekyung walked down the stage, bent on one knee, and pulled out a rose. All he had to do was await Sophia's answer.

By now, half the crowd was going wild but Darim didn't want things to get too crazy at her retirement party. "Let's leave the youngsters to themselves. I'm sure they have a lot of catching up to do. Meanwhile, now is a good chance to feast on the food!" The guests understood what Darim was saying for the most part, and others really wanted that food. The end of the night was just around the corner after her speech and dozens of other random ones by anyone who decided to run up on the stage. Some yelled compliments about Darim, other's talked about the times when she was unbearable but thankful that she has become a new lady. Of course, Darim had shot all of those kids a nasty stare. They were either too drunk to realize or too hyped about the whole event to care. She sure didn't seem as scary now that they don't have to listen to her every word. Then there were the others who honestly, we had no idea what they were saying. And before everyone realized, the event was coming to an end.

Bang Aejin had just managed to swap phone numbers with Jackson when the event ended but no problem since the two had plans to meet up again. The two even headed out of the banquet together. Jackson had went off to grab a taxi for her and waved her over once he did. But Aejin somehow managed to get her heel stuck in the crack of a pavement. Someone offered their hand, which Aejin readily took, mostly because she thought it was Jackson. Boy could she be more wrong though. When Aejin regained her balance and wanted to thank the person, she came face to face with the man she really could do without, even shoving him back without realizing. She tried to walk away but her heels gave way, again, and the girl found her foot bending wierdly. She would have fell into the ground if Hanbin hadn't caught her but she'd be damned to let him take her home. Even if it's to make sure her foot was properly treated.

So how did it end up that Hanbin, her, and Jackson were all sitting in the back of the cab with complete silence and awkwardness. Jackson had attempted to crack a joke or two to get the atmosphere more lively though his efforts proved futile. Aejin humored him with a fake laugh, a very fake one might I add. And Hanbin was just stone faced the whole ride. Even the cab driver had more of an emotion, to which Jackson resorted to chatting with the cab driver instead. And somehow, the two of them ended up singing loudly to the songs that were playing on the radio and jamming their bodies to it.

Yang Woohee and Hyun Yoomi had been ignoring each other the whole night, kind of like how they ignored each other back in High school although it's for two completely different reasons now. Back then, the kiss had messed up what could have been, but now, they realized that the real reason they were ignoring each other wasn't because of the kiss. If that night didn't happen, would Woohee have managed to get her best friend back? If that kiss didn't happen, would there even be a reason for them to talk right now? Rather than talking about the kiss though, Woohee mostly wanted to sort out her relationship with Yoomi. Was there still a chance for her to get her best friend back? Because even after ten years, she still missed the girl.

"Hey Woohee, our car is coming around the corner." Woohee nodded at Lee Minhyuk or more popularly known by Gi Hanbyul to signify she heard him before turning  back to look at Yoomi. They were still staring at each other, no words coming out until Minhyuk honked the car, urging Woohee to get in. Woohee grabbed a paper and pen from her bag and scribbled her number on it before shoving it into Yoomi's hand. What awaits their relationship now depends on what Yoomi does with her number.

Chapter 17: "And they had a feeling if they told Kwangsoo they all forgot who their partners were, it'd be the key to opening the gates to satan." This line made me chuckle so much. He's the funniest teacher ever. I can't believe he pretend to wipe a tear. Go Minhi for hitting Sehun for not responding back during Jaejoon's introduction! I would feel so incredibly awkward if somebody didn't respond to me like that AND I knew they were listening to me. I can't deal. Shrinking into fetus postion rn. I really like how they briefly talk about how maybe the clubs can co-exist. A little hint at the future? Yes no maybe? Haha! It's crazy how many characters are in the story since they all have their own plots in a way. But again you're doing a great job with keeping it rolling and telling their stories ; ; Can't wait for a jump in the future. I hope school isn't hurting you too bad!

Chapter 17: First, I think if Soojin and Minhi ever join forces, Sehun's life will be hell muahahahaha -run-
SEHUN DON'T BE MEAN TO MY BABY DUCK JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE JELLY! -run- Soojin, thank you soo much for actually helping Joon! xD hahaha
I have a feeling that Taehee and Inyoung will get along well. Like, leaders of the this weird gang. xD lol
Ian of course would came to Minhi's rescue <3 -sighs dreamily- MYGOSH GIRL MY IANMI FEELINGS! -run- And of course Minhi would introduce him to Jaejoon xD The way you put things, I think Jae could actually get closer to Ian than with Sehun lol (Sehun will be forever jelly that Minhi takes care of Jaejoon lol)
Oooooohhhhh!! Kangjoon already found out about Soojin's crush?! Someone help this girl because I feel like this will be a hard ride! lol
And that spontaneous shopping spree tho!! xD hahaha It shows that being a little weird runs in the blood lol sorry! -run- But I like how the cousins are close. x3
I do hope everyone can be friends! Specially because some of their future professions can relate in some way to one another (like Taehee being an actress, Jaejoon being a model and Soojin being a make-up artist xD)
