It almost felt like mother nature knew what today meant for Jungkook, as he made his way through the streets, clouds blocking out any trace of blue in the dark sky. He walked alone through the raindrops, a path that was once familiar to him.

But no longer.

Today would be the last day that he would be allowed to visit his past, the final farwell to his old life that he had left behind. Even though the boy had only just turned 18, he had become a man, and such mediocre activites like lessons seemed pointless. He was part of something else now.

The school which once loomed over him now looked so small. Ironic it was that he had once looked to this place for a new start. It was supposed to be his refuge... after something much worse.

As he entered into high school he felt like he was moving in a dream-like state; familiar faces, lockers, hallways and teachers felt a million miles away from him now. Which was not the case merely months ago. Jungkook use to be the very definition of victim in this place. He couldn't remember a single spot in this whole school that didn't remind him of the bullying and torture that he had endured through his time here. He wasn't exactly eager to return. But things had changed; this couldn't hurt him any more. It was time to say goodbye. Ignoring the hushed whispers and side glances around him, he continued on his way. He didn't spare a single student a look. It wasn't until he heard a familiar voice that he finally paused - not voluntarily. But as soon as the familiar tones reached him, he found he stuttered in his path and looked around, his gaze going to the source. Of course; it was them. Though they looked smaller and weaker to him now, he still remembered the terror they once inflicted with a single glare. But now, as if they were waiting for his glare, they instantly shrunk back.

These three boys had been the worst to him since day one, but now they reflected his past. Broken, weak and scared... Jungkook couldn't help but let his first day here run through his mind.

“Stop!!! Get off me, help!!!" Jungkook cried out as three taller boys hauled him away from the other students. They dragged him down the hallway kicking and screaming, passing teachers who ignored his cries. He knew what was coming, and his fear was confirmed as he was dragged into the bathroom and with a slam of the stall door, he was rushed into a stall covered in stains and crude drawings.

“No... No!” The young boy knew what was going to happen but there was nothing he could do about it. The toilet seat was pulled up and his head was aimed for the bowl. With all his strength he tried to fight off the bullies but they landed solid hits to silence him, as he gasped.

“Come on little puppy, want a little water?” The leader had rough features with badly dyed blonde hair that resembled a mangly cats fur. Jungkook had later wondered how he had gained such confidence, but he put the bullying down to his own insecurities.

“Don't be scared.” One of them petted his head as they shoved his head inside the bowl. "We just want to welcome you."

 Tears welled up in Jungkooks eyes before his face was submerged into the murky water. This was supposed to be a new start. He was supposed to be free. But it was clear to him, that all this held for him was more torture. He struggled, holding his breathe as his head was held down.

Flush.

Finally they let go after a flush and he flopped onto the floor gasping for air. They just laughed at him and he saw their blurry silhouettes through half lidded eyes. Then everything went quiet and Jungkook was alone to gather himself together.

That was the way it had always been. It wasn't just school, he'd always attracted abuse. He had been alone for as long as he could remember, to fend for himself. It wasn't even the bullying, it was what it represented. Even if he wasn't the typical pushover victim - which he tried his damnest not to be after his past - he was still isolated and a perfect target.

But times had changed.

The corner of his lips twitched up as the bullies cowered, and it was a while before he noticed passersby who stared at him in the same fear as the bullies. He could hear their whispers clear as day.

"I-is that...?"

"I thought he transfered... he looks different."

"I heard he's in Bangtan..." 

"Really?" 

“He's so scary!" 

Jungkook's half smile became more prominent as he glanced around himself. The whisperers silenced as soon as he glanced their way. He shook his head, sending one last smirk to the bullies before he continued on his way to his locker. All eyes were on him and he found he couldn't help but revel in the fear. He was finally everything he had wanted to be.

Thorwing his locker too open and unhinging one side in the process, he ignored the abuse scrawled on it as he rifled through the contents, already accustomed to the looks he was getting. No one tried to stop him, not even the teachers.

Though, he mused, they never were much help.

His locker contents were nondescript - just a mess of papers and a PE kit, along with a few books. Most of it was junk and he wasn't eager to come back to this hellhole, but after having remembered the one thing he held dear and brought with him everywhere, he knew he had to come back one last time. If not for closure, then definitely for this. He didn't want any piece of him to be left in this place. And as his hands closed around a thick book, he knew he had found it.

He pulled the novel out, disregarding the cover as he flicked through the pages, fanning them out. He was put at ease as it landed on a particular page,
