Epilogue
Tachyon
“Let’s fly, B1A4! Hello, we’re B1A4!” the members chirped when they stood on stage.
The crowd in front of them showed their rising popularity.
“Hi, I’m main vocal, Sandeul.”
The guy who just introduced himself looked like a bundle of sunshine with his cute actions and smiley eyes.
A girl in the midst of the crowd was holding tightly onto the hem of her skirt, her knuckles turning white. She could hear the thumpings of her heart against her chest. Maybe it wasn’t right, maybe she should go, but when the members settled down for the fan sign, she was pushed along with the crowd, finding herself a part of the long, snaking line. She wanted this, didn’t she?
She could see him sitting there, talking endearingly to his fans. She collected herself and took tiny breaths to calm her heart. It was her turn soon.
She stepped onto the stage. The first member in line looked rather masculine despite his long hair.
“Hi, what’s your name?”
Maybe it was wrong after all, because the response that she immediately blurted out was that she didn’t have an album. Her face flushed red instantaneously.
He chuckled lightly, and when the manager attempted to bring her away, he stopped him.
“That’s okay. I’ll just get you an album.”
She watched as he got his manager to pass him a new album.
“Thank you,” she mumbled.
He laughed again. “Thank you for liking us.”
He passed her the album and shook her hand. When she looked down at the album, there was a note addressed to her.
“To shy BANA
Please continue to love us!
CNU”
She stopped a few steps before the next member, suddenly feeling nervous and afraid.
“Hi, you can come over!”
She heard his voice, so close. She lifted her head a little to see his face. His eyes were smiling. There was no flicker of recognition or anything. Who was she kidding? Of course he couldn’t remember!
She knelt in front of him. He took the album from her and began to sign. His jaw was sharper, his chubby cheeks almost gone, but he was exactly what she had pictured.
“Who’s your favourite member?” he asked as he signed her album.
“You,” she said almost immediately, and his face lit up.
He looked her in the eyes and handed her the album, beaming. This was more than enough for her. Her eyes were already b with tears, about to fall off anytime soon.
She hurriedly got up to move on, and he stood up too, suddenly grabbing her in a hug. She dropped the album that she was holding, too surprised to do anything.
“Thank you for coming back,” he whispered in her ears.
She smiled, the tears already falling, and returned his hug, her hands gripping onto the back of his shirt.
There, on the album, was his neat scrawl.
“Dear Jasmine
What the mind forgets,
the heart remembers.
Junghwan”
Thank you
