“Wow, this is where you guys live??? I can’t believe we’ve been living in the same building this whole time!!” Elyssa exclaimed throwing her hands in the air and letting them fall back, loudly, onto her thighs.

The boys made them wait in the living room while they quickly tidied up the mess they had. They thought the boys had a mess in their dorm room in AHL, but man, they really downplayed it on that show. Jin didn’t bother helping them clean, he was too busy trying to beat Julia on Rainbow Road. The noises they each made were a clear sign if any that they were a match made in heaven.

Bangtan truly were fast when they worked as a team because the place was spotless in less than ten minutes. Three minutes if the girls really wanted to be specific. The atmosphere had changed and Taehyung seemed to be really distant from everybody, as if he were staring into space. “Is he really an alien?” Julia asked Jin. Jin shook his head and laughed, “Better than that.” She furrowed her brows in confusion, but didn’t ask anymore questions.

“Okay, now that we’ve tidied up a bit,” Namjoon winked at Taehyung and he returned the gesture. “ I wanna, uh, get down to what we brought you here for.”

Yoongi stood up and pushed Namjoon down into his seat, “ Don’t say it like that, you’ll scare them. Look, she’s already brought her knees closer to her chest.” He pointed at Elyssa.

“No I’m fine, I just got a slight chill.” She reassured him.

He nodded and continued where Namjoon left off, “Alright, let’s start off with the elemental sorting. Although they are weak, they seem to be able to only see certain familiars of ours.” He turned his attention back to the girls, “ Who can see my little guy?”

Jasmynne raised her hand, alone. “Just as I suspected from a jellyfish. Alright, now, going off of that hunch, I’ll take it you three can only see the birds? Miss butterfly?” Elyssa nodded

“Miss fairy wren?” nod

“Miss crow?” Julia nodded the affirmative.

 

Hoseok stood from his seat in exasperation, “Hold on, so you’re telling me that the most attractive one, no offense to you three beautiful girls, is the only one who is not a wind fae???” Jas blushed profusely and uttered a quick, “T-thank you..” and bit at her nails. Hoseok winked at her and sent her a finger heart. She felt a bunch of butterflies in her stomach one second and then she felt nothing.

“Sorry about that, but we need to get down to business first.” Yoongi actually looked apologetic. Jasmynne felt more confused than ever and he let her feel that way.

“Do you girls have any memories from your childhoods pertaining to any strange events surrounding yourselves?”

 

The girls sat in silence while they tried their best to remember anything from their childhoods. Yoongi felt every emotion coming from their hearts, ranging from loneliness, sadness, and despair, to happiness, freedom, and love. He was on the roller coaster ride with them and they had no idea. He forced himself not to negate their emotions in fear of them losing the memories associated with them.

He decided to focus on Julia first to see if he could negate the positive emotions , but she had none. As soon as he focused on her his heart felt like lead and he almost started crying until her head popped up and she exclaimed, “This crow has been with me ever since I can remember! Except, it was a lot healthier looking when I was younger.” the jeered in agreement about their familiars, “ I can also remember making my dolls float with my mind and scaring the crap out of my babysitter.” she shook her head and smiled, full of nostalgia.

“You made your dolls float, huh?” Namjoon asked and she nodded. “So, then, you have the power of telekinesis.” Namjoon crossed his legs confidently.

Satisfied that his plan had worked, he focused on Emilee next, but no matter how had he tried, he just couldn’t read her emotional patterns. He noticed her eyebrows furrowed in frustration, but there was no way he could help her and it made him feel terrible. But, wait, that had to mean something, right? Time to ask the fae library, “Hey, Nam, I can’t read her emotions, and she’s obviously a wind fae, so what does that mean?”

Namjoon sat quietly as he thought for a moment, “She could be a Psionic shield.” He shrugged, “But that’s just a wild guess.”

“We can find out once I make the tea.” Jin offered.

“Tea?” Julia asked, but Yoongi waved at her to shush because he was curious about Jasmynne’s and Elyssa’s powers.

Yoongi noticed that the jellyfish floating above Jas’ shoulder had been changing colors to fit the emotions that not only she was feeling, but also the emotions of everybody else in the room. The lightbulb in his mind lit up, “Of course! Water fae deal with emotions best! She has the power of emotion detection!” He felt very proud of himself for figuring that out on his own.  

The only one left was Elyssa. There were so many negative emotions surrounding this one girl and he couldn’t figure out why. He felt like she was hiding something from him, but he also felt an undeniable closeness to her. There had to be some type of connection between the two of them, but he couldn’t tell what it was.

Emilee turned to her sister and they made eye contact, “Do you remember that one time when we were little and you fell down the slide? At night. It was a full moon!” Elyssa stared at her sister blankly, “I’m… not sure what you’re talking about…falling down the slide… full moo- oh my god! Yea!” she stood up and looked at Namjoon, “As soon as I got up there was a giant scrape on my knee and I almost started crying, but the moonlight…. somehow, the moonlight wrapped itself around my knee and healed it!”

Namjoon didn’t even take a moment to figure out what her power was, “Lunar manipulation!”

“Wow, you’re so smart! You’re the only one who would’ve known that that quickly!” Jungkook smiled widely and applauded his hyung. Namjoon couldn’t hide his smug smile for too long and posed once again.

“Okay, okay, this is all pretty cool, but what the hell?” Julia looked around at everyone, “You keep saying fae meaning faeries, right?” the seven boys nodded. “But we’re all humans! It is pretty weird that those things happened to us when we were kids, but children have very strong imaginations.”

“That’s right.” Elyssa agreed, then added, “Memories can also be manipulated if you want to believe that you remember something, then your mind will believe it and make the memory come true… or something like that.”
“Oh come on! There’s gotta be someway we can make you girls believe you are Sheltered fae! The things you are saying are just solidifying the fact that you’re sheltered and totally explains why your familiars are so close to death! You know, if those things don’t get fed pretty soon, you’ll-” Yoongi was suddenly cut off by Hoseok’s hand.

“Don’t tell them that, it will scare them. I can tell one of these girls is strong in image contortion. It’s more than likely the one who can manipulate lunar energy. Here,” he handed Elyssa a sheet of paper with an incantation on it, “You can choose right now to either chant your incantations or sing them.”

Elyssa stared at the words on the paper and decided to sing the familiar lyrics, “D-O-L-L-H-O-U-S-E, I see things that nobody else sees.” Suddenly Taehyung’s image of a clean apartment became the pigsty they had walked in on. Shocked, she fell back into her seat.

“What?!” Jasmynne asked in a panic. Elyssa touched her left cheek to turn her head and suddenly Jas was able to see what had freaked her out. Seeing the cluttered room with her left eye and the clean projection with her right eye, she felt more shocked than before.

“El, do that to Julia and Emilee. Only touch one of their cheeks.” Jas told her.

Respecting her friend’s decision she got up from her seat and carefully made her way over to sit in between the two younger girls. She carefully reached for Emilee’s right cheek and Julia’s left cheek, but the true image started to fade.  “D-O-L-L-H-O-U-S-E, I see things that nobody else sees.”, she sang again and the younger girls widened their eyes as the truth was revealed to them.

“Holy . You guys are pigs.” Julia huffed. Emilee nodded in agreement.

“Do you believe us now?” Taehyung asked. The three girls nodded simultaneously.  
“Can I stop projecting this image? I can’t really hold conversations and project at the same time yet.” he spoke quickly.

“It’s embarrassing, but yes, you can stop now.” Jin said.

“Hey, Julia, can you hand me those pieces of mint that are right behind you?” Jin asked. Julia looked up from her game and grabbed the spices. She walked over to him and started to hand them over, but he shook his head.

“I want you to place them inside the pot. We need 11 leaves.”

She blushed at the thought that she was finally cooking with Jin. Even if it was making tea with weird ingredients she’d never heard of before like ‘tear of moonstone’... she didn’t even know stones could cry in real life. She thought that only happened in video games, but she was beginning to just accept everything as it was because these guys obviously knew more than she did.

"Here, take a sip of this." Jin held a spoonful of tea towards Julia and she complied. A small surge of energy burst through her system. Suddenly she could feel everything around her without even physically touching it and she could estimate just how much energy she would need in order to lift each item individually or all together. She smiled with tight lips and wide eyes, reaching for more of the tea. Jin smiled at her knowingly and lovingly and shook his finger at her.

"Let me serve the proper proportions, then you can have more. I don't want you to have too much on your first time." He patted her head and she pouted.

"Fine."

While Jin and Julia were busy making the tea and flirting, the other three girls helped the guys clean their dorm.

"Y'know, I had always imagined my first meeting with bangtan, and honestly, it wasn't like this." Elyssa sighed.

Everybody else laughed at her despair.

"So, what was it supposed to be like?", Taehyung asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Definitely not like this." She made a face of disgust as she held up a dirty sock, "I'm not even sure whose this is!!!" She flung it over her shoulder and it almost landed on the cups of tea that Jin was carrying over, but Julia used her telekinesis to stop it.

 

“Woah! That was so cool! Do it again!” Elyssa threw another sock at Julia, then a pillow soon after and Julia was so fed up with it that she sent the pillow flying back towards her, hitting her in the face with it. “Ow… sorry.” She rubbed her face.

Everybody laughed while Jin handed out the cups of tea to everybody. Julia could already see Jasmynne’s, Yoongi’s, Jungkook’s, Namjoon’s, and Taehyung’s familiars because her powers were being awakened by the tea. “You guys should hurry up and drink yours. Rap man’s familiar is the same species as Jungkook’s but it’s smaller.” Julia encouraged her friends with a laugh.

“Rap man?” Namjoon asked, but was ignored. While the girls drank their tea, Jimin could see their power aura growing brighter by the sip.

With the first sip she took, Jas could see the outlines of the different animals floating above the boys’ shoulders. Jungkook, Nammy, and Taehyung looked like they had dragons, but she wasn’t too sure. Jin looked like he had some kind of lizard, Hoseok looked like he had an owl, and Jimin looked like he had a small bird. She glanced over at Emilee and noticed a very fragile looking bird. Elyssa had a withering butterfly on her shoulder, it couldn’t even float anymore. Julia’s bird looked like it had fully recovered, because she chugged her tea down as if her life depended on it. Which it did, but they didn’t know that.

“Woah! Why do their familiars look so sad and near death?” Julia asked.

“Near dea-..?! Please, drink faster! Every second you stall is a second of your life withered away!” Namjoon pleaded. The girls didn’t take him seriously because he was notorious for being a bit of an exaggerator, so they laughed.

Frustrated, Yoongi got up and came back with three hand mirrors and handed them to the girls. “Now that you’ve at least sipped some of it, you can see your own familiars clearly, am I correct?” The girls looked at their reflections and stared silently at their dying familiars. He didn’t wait for an answer.

“Legend states that the eleven stars will bring life back to the Realm of the Fae. Seven bright and four dim. We’ve done extensive research, secretly of course, and we found out that the brightness means the brightness of the power auras. We are seven,” he gestured towards himself and s, “and we were brought together by fate, chance, destiny, whatever you wanna call it. And we have been searching for the four dim stars for about three years now. We believe that you are the dim stars. All four of you are fae and Julia’s familiar reacted to Hoseok’s and Jimin’s familiars meaning that you are from the same clan. I’ll speak more about that later, I’ve already wasted enough time. My point was to let you know how important you each are.

“Fae cannot survive if their familiars die. Familiars are nourished by the use of your magic. Judging by the state of your familiars, we met you just in time. Elyssa’s looks like it’s about to give in at any moment. That only means that you have mistreated yourself on top of not using magic since childhood. Emilee’s seems to be doing a little bit better than hers, but I think that’s because nobody knows how to suppress psionic powers. Jasmynne, your Jellyfish looks like dried seaweed, but come on, the future of our entire species depends on you girls right now. I understand that it may be a lot to take in, but please, we need you.” The girls took a moment to soak in all that information. So many bombs were just dropped on them and it took everything in Yoongi’s power to not negate their emotions because he knew that it was important for them to feel every single one.

Hearing that the man who unknowingly saved her life, the man she needed so many times when she was alone in the dark listening to the song he composed and wrote himself, needed her was enough for Elyssa to swallow the entire cup of tea in one gulp. She almost choked, but she contained herself. She wasn’t about to die when she most wanted to live.

Jasmynne thought about her poor jellyfish and the fact that it was so malnourished because she was a Sheltered Fae. It was crazy to believe it, but she had to. She didn’t want to die either. She hadn’t done everything she’d wanted to do, and knowing that she has a completely different life waiting for her in the near future was more than enough to make her finish her tea.

Emilee felt hesitant. She couldn’t help but feel hesitant after Julia knocked out while Yoongi was talking. Maybe the information was too drastic for her. But, then how does that explain Elyssa and Jas knocking out as well?

“I can’t read your emotions, but I can see your body language. Just drink it slowly and you won’t knock out as terribly. We can at least lead you to a bed before your body restores itself.” Yoongi offered. Understanding, she drank it slowly, but steadily. She felt the liquid flow through her body, which was weird because she was pretty sure it was supposed to just go down , but hey, it wasn’t the weirdest thing that happened today.

“You still drank it too quickly.” Yoongi laughed and helped her over to the closest room. She couldn’t help but notice the computer and microphone before everything went black.
