White World
Dream LoveLuhan opened his eyes to find himself in the familiar boundless field of white. He looked around, searching for someone he wanted to see. The
place being nothing but white and empty, a complete 360 degree turn was enough to scan the entire space.
“Looks like I arrived first again.” he concluded after a quick check. He folded his legs and waited patiently, hoping that the one he’s waiting for
will come sooner.
After around an hour, or Luhan assumed it was that long, it’s a bit hard to estimate time in there, another presence arrived to join him in that white
empty space.
“Baozi!” Luhan beamed.
Baozi is the one and only person that shared that place with Luhan. She has short black hair, sharp eyes, thin lips, a cute face with those
prominent cheeks and the most beautiful person Luhan had laid eyes on, and that’s saying something since he works with stunning actresses.
She’s soft spoken accompanied by her equally soft voice.
She smiled at Luhan as a greeting, ultimately melting the man from the inside.
“You’re a bit late. What happened?” Luhan asked.
Her gaze dropped to her feet, her bright expression quickly leaving her face. Luhan cursed himself from being careless. He had momentarily
forgotten that he shouldn’t ask her questions like that. It’s the main reason why he calls her “Baozi” in the first place. That is because she can’t
remember, or probably just really can’t answer questions, concerning the things outside of that world.
It had been six months since they first met each other. Luhan opened his eyes to find himself lost and alone in this place. Or he thought he
was alone, but he was wrong, there was another person who was already there when he arrived.
Being the short tempered guy that he was, Luhan wasted no time talking nicely to that person and demanded that he be returned to his room
where he still needs to memorize the script for tomorrow’s recording.
She stood up from where she sat, approached him and gave him a sharp flick on the forehead.
“Don’t use that tone with me, mister.” she said in a confident reprimanding tone.
Luhan was dumbfounded. Ever since he had entered the entertainment industry where he quickly rose to the top, no one was foolish or brave
enough to scold him, much less hit him. He was popular and the most in demand actor of his time. Everyone fight just to get him casted in
their respective movies. They all try to fit themselves in his already busy schedule. No one dared to correct him even when he was being a
jerk due to the popularity getting to his head, because he has the talent and the looks to boast. And yet, here he was getting scolded by a
girl he just met in that weird place.
He looked at her with a confused stare, in which she simply returned with a raised brow. Luhan had to admit, she was pretty, the most beautiful
person he had seen, despite the fact that she’s giving him an unimpressed look. No one had treated him like this, and somehow he felt
comfortable being around her. He felt his shoulders relax, a feeling he had long forgotten through the years of busy celebrity life.
“I’m sorry.” he said in a quiet voice.
He peeked at her expression and found his heart leaping in delight when he found her smiling at him.
“I just really need to get back on my room. I still need to memorize my lines.” Luhan explained in a polite tone.
“I’m sorry. I don’t know how to bring you back.” she apologized. “But maybe, I can help you with your lines? Is that okay?” she offered.
After that, they spent the entire time exchanging the drama lines Luhan was supposed to memorize. She was a great help. Having someone say
the line back to him helped him capture the right emotion for his character. They kept at it until a deafening sound interrupted them, ending their
time together.
The second time Luhan came to that place, he was neither confused nor taken aback anymore. This time, he was determined to know
everything he can about her. Unfortunately, the moment he started asking her personal questions starting with her name, her face grew
depressed with every question along with a miserable shake of the head every time. Luhan hated it. He hated seeing her down like that.
He made a mental note to himself not to ask her anything about that anymore. He made himself content with the information he can gain
from spending time with her. He also came up with a nickname for her, “Baozi”, because she’s as cute as a bun with those very noticeable
puffy cheeks of hers. He did this so he would have a name to call her, plus it will serve as a constant reminder that he shouldn’t inquire
anything further.
It had been six long yet short months for him. Luhan’s attitude changed drastically. The big headed, short tempered star returned to the humble
polite actor he started as. He had started talking and befriending the staff in the filming location, treated his co-stars with care and respect. He also
interacted with his fans with a passion he hadn’t shown in a while. He had changed for the better. The people around him noticed but didn’t know
the reason for it. They made a few speculations but no one knew the real reason behind it.
He had made a careless mistake of asking her why she was late. Luhan tried to change the subject quickly. He hated it when Baozi looks so
miserable when she couldn’t give Luhan an answer.
“Neh. What do you think will be a good gift for Kris?”
Contrary to her situation, Luhan remembers everything in both worlds. He had detailed his entire life to her. Reporting his everyday life and talking
about his friends, his projects, his career, his family and almost about everything going on in his life. In no time at all, she had known anything
and everything about Luhan, including secrets that only she knows aside from Luhan.
“For his birthday?”
“Yeah. It’s already November and I haven’t bought anything yet.”
“Hm. Didn’t you say that he wanted that perfume before? You said he wouldn’t stop complaining that he bought a small bottle.”
“Oh. That one. Yeah, I remember.”
“Then get him that.”
“But if I remember correctly, it’s from a local store in Seoul.”
“You don’t have a schedule in Korea in the next few days?”
“There’s a movie premiere in Seoul on the 4th, but I’m not sure if I’ll have any free time to look for it.”
“I’m sure you will. You said that they always try to give you a little time to look around, so I’m sure they’ll do the same when you go to Seoul.”
A loud familiar sound halted their conversation, also ending their short time together.
“Early schedule?”
“Yeah. We need to film with the sunrise.”
“Take care then.” she smiled and waved goodbye to him.
Although disappointed with the short time, he knew that he has to leave. Baozi doesn’t like it when he insists to stay behind because that would
mean neglecting his work. She had put him back in line with hardly any effort and Luhan was happy to comply if it can make her smile.
Luhan felt himself back on the soft cushion of his bed and the warm covers of his blanket. He reached for his alarm to stop the irritating sound
he was growing to hate. No matter how short his shared time with Baozi is, it never fails to put him in a pleasant mood for the entire day. He
thinks it’s the main reason why the change wasn’t so hard on his part.
Luhan treasures her and their time together, even if she and their time together is nothing but a dream.
