Once Kai closed the door behind them, Seohun didn’t hesitate to pull her hand away forcefully. Her actions shocked Kai, and the latter couldn’t help but step closer to her.
Her expression was sullen, dark and unpleasant.
“What’s wrong with you?”
Seohun threw him a scornful look and scoffed, “What’s wrong with me? You’re the one who hasn’t been answering my calls!”
Kai cursed silently inside, he totally forgot to call his wife back after getting interrupted by his brother. He shut his eyes and breathed out slowly.
“I’m sorry okay, something urgent came up-”
“So you couldn’t text me but came back with Krystal instead.”
Kai glowered at his wife, his arms folded across his chest. “Do you have something against her?”
The brunette was taken aback at the question, she didn’t want to involve Krystal into the picture, and she doubted Krystal would be so mean as to take Kai away from her. But she wasn’t sure why she kept targeting on the poor girl.
“I don’t! I just expected you to call back at least.”
A dead silence fell upon them when their eyes met for a few seconds. Kai wordlessly paced forward, expecting to not advert their eye contact; but Seohun instantly looked away when he was only a step away from her.
Seohun gave an exasperated sigh, “Forget it.”
She was about to brush her way pass her husband when the latter caught on to her elbow. The brunette side-eyed her husband, eyes not making contact either.
“We need to talk.”
“I don’t want to. You can go ahead and talk to Krystal instead.”
Seohun stubbornly pulled away her arm but Kai was having none of it. The former barely took a step forward when Kai spun her around by her shoulder.
“KIM SEOHUN!”
Seohun’s body jumped in shock, eyes widening at the harsh tone her husband used. Kai’s never raised her voice at her before; not even when they first got married and before Kai was knowledgeable about her situation.
Kai shut his eyes in frustration, realising a second too late that he went over his own boundaries. He let out a shaky breath and released his grip from his wife’s shoulder.
“You think you’re the only one suffering, Seohun?” Kai ran his fingers through his hair, brushing it back and squeezing his eyes shut briefly. “I told you to trust me but no; you wished to leave us behind.”
