Of acrylic and florals.“I thought body painting was … not your thing anymore.” He added, voice a little subtle.
Himchan rolled his eyes.
“Body painting was never my thing. It’s a ‘your’ thing.”
That was a bombshell dropped on the two.
Jongup met eyes with Yongguk in a rush, and even Yongguk was a little perplexed. Jongups face turned sour and Yongguk only laughed.
-
“Can you believe this? He said it’s our thing.” Jongup huffed out, pulling his hair again.
Yongguk was laughing and he was not helping at all. They were back in the dorm again, after dinner – about to either sleep or do their homework.
“He’s right, why are you getting so worked up over that?”
“Because!! Our plans are ruined. How are we going to get him to model for us if he doesn’t want to be painted on?”
“Clam down.” Yongguk said, standing up and ringing his arms around Jongups waist. He pulled, and the boy fell on his lap, both on Yongguks bed now.
Jongup took a while and sighed out, resting his head on Yongguks shoulder.
“Aish, I’m stupid.” Jongup said. “There are better things to worry for, and I’m getting all worked up over silly body paint.”
Yongguk huffed. “It’s not silly, it’s art.” He said, and Jongup laughed.
“But what are the better things to worry for?” Yongguk asked.
“Us. Finishing projects too, but mostly us.”
“Us?”
“Us three, I mean. We’ve been really busy these days, Himchan must feel a little left out.”
“You noticed?” Yongguk asked, his smile becoming wider. “He’s turning a bit more persistent to hang around with us.” Yongguk added. “He’s so cute.”
“Isn’t he just? His ears perked up at the mention of a free weekend I nearly thought of a puppy offered a bone.” Jongup giggled. “So cute.”
Yongguk nudged Jongup at his waist after a soft grumble. “And yet we didn’t ask him out because of your failed plan to make him want to be painted.”
Jongup grumbled too. “Right? Ugh, I’m still a little dump over not getting to paint on him. We shouldn’t have worked too hard on the draft.”
Yongguk chuckled again, and pressed his nose against Jongups neck. “Nah, its fine. It’s a good draft.”
They lied down on bed again, facing each other. Jongup started to trace Yongguks mustache with his thumb and was very amused to do so. “Don’t you want to let it grow some time?” Jongup asked, and Yongguk started to hum. “Hmm, I don’t know. After school ends, maybe.”
“What if it’s like the kind that doesn’t grow very thick?” Jongup asked. Yongguk started to chuckle and Jongup grumbled again. “Now I’m really curious.”
“Go to sleep blockhead.”
“Sure double blockhead. Good night.” Jongup snapped, but it only made Yongguk chuckle. Jongups temper was quite adorable sometimes. So he left a quick peck on Jongups’ lips.
“Goodnight.” He smiled. He saw some of Jongup blush, but quickly he turned and switched off the lamp. Yongguk rolled his eyes when Jongup didn’t turn to face him again, but settled with an arm over his waist.
“Love you.” He mused, and Jongup did a weird noise with his throat first.
“You too.” Then he said.
-
Yongguk and Jongup had forgotten that Himchan was coming over on Saturday. The duo overslept because they were both exhausted and deserved a long break because they turned in their project before their deadline. The push their homework on Friday because it leaves less to do on the day afterwards.
Yongguk hadn’t even washed his face when Jongup pushed him off the bed saying the one knocking on their door should be kicked. Grumbling, Yongguk wiped a bit of his drool and were picking at his eyes as he opened the door to a well-dressed Himchan.
Then he closed it.
Himchan bobbed his head backwards. Did Yongguk just open and then closed the door on him?
“Ya!” Himchan raised his voice, once or twice on the door. “Let me in you ! I’ve been knocking here for like ten minutes!”
“Five minutes!” Yongguk said, and dashed out to Jongup. He shook the latter by his shoulder until he woke up with murderous eyes. But Yongguk had no time for that. Both of them look like absolute snobs!
“Himchan’s here. We forgot.” He said.
“Huh? Himchan… oh .”
“Yes, I know. I…. I’m going to go brush my teeth while you... Collect the laundry. And come up with a plan.”
“A plan?”
“You , did you forget we told him I’m painting lilacs on your abs?” Yongguk whispered; grabbed his towel and dashed into the bathroom. Jongup rubbed his head.
Oh boy.
Today’s going to be a messy one. Jongup had a feeling from the start.
-
Himchan had gotten himself seated by the dining table, off the comfort zone of the two artists. He knew that Jongup and Yongguk liked space when they painted, so he settled himself in the distance. Settled himself would be a wrong statement, however; because Jongups exposed chest and abdominal muscles were not things that could make one feel settled.
Jongup was seated with just a pair of denims on, and Yongguk was still arranging the paint bottles by his side.
Himchan watched, as they took longer than usual.
He knew what usual is because he had been painted on.
Yongguk was fumbling a lot and undecided with his colors and Himchan already sensed something a little off about the two.
Like Yongguk had said, they doubted themselves a lot when it came to florals, but it was different when they drew on skin. It was unlike them to be undecided or hesitant.
“What color are lilacs?” Yongguk asked, rather blankly; and both Himchan and Jongup narrowed their brows.
But Himchan was the one to question.
“Are you okay, Yongguk?”
Yongguk was holding a paintbrush with black paint on Jongups stomach, but they met eyes after Himchan asked them that. Yongguk sighed.
“Should we just tell him?” He asked, and Jongup narrowed his brows a bit more.
“Tell me what?” Himchan asked, crossing his hands.
Those two are always hiding things from me.
Jongup pushed Yongguk from his face and sighed. “You tell him.” He said. Yongguk nodded. “Kay.”
