Of acrylic and florals.Yongguk just stepped out of the shower but he was walking straight to his laptop to see if the rendering of his photographs are completed.
Jongup watched as Yongguk grumbled coming to know that they are only halfway through. “Is this going to take forever?!” He mumbled, and looked around his table for his mug.
“It’s on the counter, and we’re out of sugar.” Jongup said. Yongguk found a cup of coffee made for him.
“Thanks.” He said, coming back to their room with his coffee, slightly stirred by a single spoon of sugar. That’s clearly not enough.
Yongguk sat back on his laptop and started working on the tones of his second set of photographs, and minutes later, Jongup dropped his sketchbook on Jongups keyboard.
“What do you think?” He asked. Yongguk was a little taken aback by having a sketchbook dumped on his laptop, but Jongup was like that and Yongguk is getting used to it.
Yongguk followed the florals Jongup had sketched on two pairs of legs and torso, and he tilted his head a bit. “Are those edelweiss?” He asked, following the scattered bits from the groin and along the length to the thighs.
“They don’t fill it right, do they?” Jongup agreed, sighing. “There’s a lot of empty to fill, any ideas?”
“Hm… how about a sort of green creeper? With smaller leaves? I don’t think filling with more flowers would do.” He said. Jongup nodded, halfheartedly agreeing. He’s already stuffed the pelvis area with carnations. “Should I go with carnation leaves?”
“Doesn’t that depend on the theme? Why isn’t the top part sketched?” Yongguk asked. He can’t quite grasp what the floral is about yet, carnations and prim roses wasn’t a clicking combination.
“It’s the rest, I was thinking.” Jongup said, and pulled out Yongguks phone from his pant pockets. He swiped this way and that and turned the phone over. “A full body painting.” He said.
The photo he showed was one of Himchans’ earliest. If Yongguks is right the theme had been along the lines of attachment and patience; that would put two and two together. “As in the rest of this?” Yongguk asked, taking his phone to inspect closer. “We’ve filled it with edelweiss in this one.” Yongguk sighed, puckering his lips. “That has to go.” He said.
Jongup took back his sketchbook and made a note after an arrow. He put his pencil in his ear as of habit and then looked back at Yongguk.
“Shall we ask Himchan?” He asked, and Yongguk felt slightly fidgety of the idea.
It’s nearly been months since they had last painted anything on Himchan, and isn’t a full body painting a lot to ask right off the bat? Yongguk didn’t feel very confident with this one.
“Maybe we should start slow.” He said, but Jongup sighed.
“I’m going to ask him.” He confirmed.
“Do you even remember what he said last time? Weirded out, that’s what. It’s weird.” Yongguk grumbled and turned back to his laptop. “I don’t know if he’d want us to paint on him anymore.”
Jongup chuckled. “For that, we might have a plan.”

After the semester started, Himchan had softly settled into the lives of Jongup and Yongguk, meeting between and after classes and for lunch. If the two or Himchan weren’t busy with projects they would go out on a Saturday and Sunday, do something fun, like an arcade or a music show, sometimes art exhibitions, and hang around a lot.
Anyway, Yongguk and Jongup were both top students so while they were at work, Himchan was sort of left out. It wasn’t as if he was nervous to visit their dorm sometimes, but things are different now.
Last time he went in there Jongup and Yongguk took turns kissing him. But before things could have escalated far too quickly he managed to punch some sense into the two and get out.
What can not happen in there?
Himchan knocked, and Jongup just called to let himself in. The door is open, he said.
He expected them on the desk, turning pages or drawing or writing a thesis. They always usually were. But this time, they were not.
Yongguk smiled and waved at Himchan from the couch, but Jongup, who was over him with his knees over his legs, hissed and pushed his chin up. “Don’t move.” He said, holding a brush against Yongguks’ neck, finishing off half a rose running below his jaw in a deep red color. The contrast was immense, red and deep green against Yongguks tan skin. Himchan couldn’t really interpret any further but those roses had a dark shade and it gave a strong vibe.
“This is going to take a while, Himchan. Make yourself home.” Jongup said, sparing a small glance.
Himchan nodded and closed the door and walked to the kitchen. Jongup texted him earlier that they called in Chinese, and he found the boxes on the counter. He took his time plating them onto the table. As he did, he kept stealing glances at the two artists on the couch.
Jongup had knelt down between Yongguks spread legs, touching the slightest of his skin with a thin pick of black outline.
“Done?” Yongguk asked in the softest tone so he wouldn’t move a lot of muscle, but Jongup th
