Gardenia: The Secret Love

Description

"If I had a flower for every time I thought of you...I could walk through my garden forever"

Jessica Jung is a lonesome writer who lives in a hill in a countryside town. In a wood cabin that overlooks a mountain, that's far but close. Yoona is a gardener, flower girl who tends to her garden of a very special flower...gardenia.
Jessica's feelings and secret love.
You're beautiful.

Foreword

As she sat on that porch, looking at the mountain far but somehow close in the landscape. She could only think about humans, humans and their feelings, because it's about every little piece we leave in each other that somehow connects us. That's the base of relationships...of bonds, every little piece, a feeling, a phrase, a moment, unforgettable pieces that we keep deep within our soul and will perhaps, never forget. Because how could we?
The gentle breeze of the wind throws her hair back as she takes a sip of her dark coffee, no sugar as always.

"Today is cold" She whispers, for no one to hear.

After all, there's no one but her and that lonely mountain in the far away but somehow close landscape.
Clouds have started to gather and droplets of rain are starting to fall on her small front garden. She smiles as she sees the droplets slide on the petals of gardenias. Her favourite flower. Her love's favourite flower. They say a peasant fell in love with a princess of a far away kingdom and he had to join the army to be close to her, he would send her letters tying a gardenia to it so she knew it was from him. He later dies from his wounds and she found the letters, he kept his love a secret to his death, that's why...gardenia means secret love. She looked up to the raining sky...if she could be like the rain, connecting the sky and the earth, connecting her heart with her's...
The little pieces are too many, there are too many looks, too many feelings, too many phrases and too many moments, too many unforgettable pieces that she has vowed to never forget, because she is attracted to her like a magnet.

"What am I supposed to do without you?" She whispers, but again, with only her and the mountain, no one would hear.

She takes another sip of coffee and looks at that mountain.
Like that mountain, that's always far but somehow close, so is her...her love.
Her secret love that she never reveals.
Revealing? Can she do it? Deep inside her heart she can't stop this feeling anymore, a feeling that if she doesn't tell her all will go to oblivion.
There are so many promises she wants to make, so many feelings she wants to share, so many dreams to realize.
And yet, deep down she always feels this...unsettling. Yoona...
Her secret love...
Jessica let out a long sigh before going back inside, with the rain falling the air had suddenly become colder. She looked at her cellphone on top of the coffee table. Her mind was racing and trully weighing the pros and cons of grabbing that phone and making that call.
She felt so unsure, it's not like she has known her for long...but then again it felt like that.
Yoona had that kind of effect on her. She felt like she'd always known her, that laugh, that smile and the beautiful way her lips perk when she feels embarassed. She felt that her whole lifetime had been a build up point to that. To see that, to see her, to meet her, to talk to her, to know her and ultimately...to love her. Because if anything all this unsettling in her chest couldn't be anything else but love. She grabbed that cellphone and dialed the number she pressed call and listened to the call being connected, her heart was racing at a million miles an hour and even though deep down she knows this isn't the best way to tell her about her feelings she can't stop being nervous.

"Hello"

"Hello, Yoona, this is Jessica" She said nervously.

"Ah, hello, I'm glad you called" Yoona said.

"Can you come up here, please? I have something to tell you" Jessica said.

"Is it about the flowers? Is anything wrong?" Yoona said worried. She was Jessica's "gardener" her mother just had a flower and gardening shop at the nearby town and Yoona helped a bit.

"It's...just come, please" Jessica said.

"Hum, okay" Yoona said.

"I'll be right there"

She hung up. Jessica stared at the phone for a while.
She's coming, she's really coming here. She went to her porch and sat down on her rocking chair. She just stayed very still looking at the road that went down the hill, she would not move an inch while waiting for her...Actually she was so nervous that she could not move an inch.

As Yoona's SUV stopped in front of her cabin Yoona came out of the car and walked towards the small front garden, she took a look at the gardenias and fixed some of the flowers the rain had damaged. She walked up to the porch, where Jessica was sitting, waiting.

"Everything seems fine. What happened?" She asked.

"I just...needed to talk to you"

"Okay, what is it?" Yoona said, feeling Jessica's behavior to be...unusual.

"I know we haven't known each other for long but...I need to tell you something Yoona"

Jessica looked deep into Yoona's eyes who didn't say anything and was looking back.

"I'm the moth to your flame, Yoona"

"I gravitate towards you because of your warmth and if by chance you burn me..."

"Then so be it, I'd die happily"

Jessica said in one breath. Yoona was left speechless. Jessica looking deep into her eyes, hoping, waiting for an answer, but what was she supposed to answer? That's when Jessica said it...she said it twice.

"I love you" She let out. She walked to the garden and pulled out one of the flowers.

She got wet from the rain but it was okay, she gave the flower to Yoona and repeated.

"I love you"

Yoona grabbed the flower. She pulled Jessica towards her by the waist and kissed her lips.

"I love you too"

Gardenia means secret love and it also means...

"You're beautiful" Yoona let out.

Jessica smiled and kissed her again.

Oh woa...I'm speechless...so beautiful! To be honest, a little cheasy too, but still beautiful. Your poster is so nice. You must put a lot of effort into it, right? Thank you.

I just have one question: why you put the tag "angst" and "drama" for it? It made me thought something may happen to their love so I was kind of supried to find it finished already :)
