Description

Shadow of the Mountain side story: Junsu loves adventure. There is nothing like the call of the distant mountains and the feeling of running breakneak through the mountain meadows to soothe his spirit. But, one day, Junsu finds himself face to face with an injured enemy that might just be the missing piece of his heart he'd always been hunting.

Foreword

I felt like writing the story of how Junsu and Jaejoong met in Shadow of the Mountain. They literally won't appear in that story for a number of chapters, if at all, but I did this anyway. Because I could. Woo~ Anyway, hope you enjoy. It is set a considerable time before Shadow, since JaeSu are Taekwoon's parental figures.

Chapter 1: Well this was a fascinating peek into things. I feel like I'm missing so much by not having read the larger story, but it's definitely enough to give an intro to it. I was really intrigued by the idea of everyone being a shifter of some kind. Or at least that's how it appears at the moment. And I definitely liked the idea of Junsu being a healer (gotta love em and he comes off as one anyway). :)

I do think the 'fate' aspect was laid on a bit thick at the end with Junsu's final comments, but it's still an interesting concept. Especially because they are so different. Jaejoong especially seemed to have some very strong opinions about wolves in particular. I liked the incorporation of stereotypes here, which was a nice touch and added a degree of realism that also helped set the tone. This continued too when the wolves seemed to have their own conceptions about mountain lions. XD haha

I will say I had to admire Junsu's determination and his outlook on life and healing in general. He was certainly stubbornly persistent when it came to trying to help the other man, and I had to laugh when he 'disappeared' only to return with that rather neat bit of assistance. Given the nudges of 'insight' Junsu was feeling here, I wonder how much the goddess normally interferes with the people and if that's a larger theme in the bigger story. Hmm. May have to wander over and take a gander. lol

Overall, thanks for sharing. It was an enjoyable read. ^_^
