iii.  The Third Time Woohyun Tried to Talk to Sunggyu

"Hi." A voice broke his train of thought.

Sunggyu turned to his right and nearly fell out of the bar stool he was perched on. It was the guy that had kept popping into his head over the past week. He didn't know why he was so infatuated by him. He didn't like to think that he was  superficial person, but he didn't even know the guy, yet he felt this incessant pull towards him.

"H--hi." He stuttered dumbly.

He chanced a look around expecting to see he girlfriend he saw from last time pop up at any moment.

"Did you have this seat saved for someone?" He man asked curiously.

He shook his head a little too quickly in response, overly eager that this stranger who had caught his interest was actually the one that was talking to him.

"My name is Woohyun, I heard you on stage a few weeks ago." He said extending his hand out.

Sunggyu looked stunned that he actually remembered who he was, not to mention noticed him in the first place.  He demurely shook the extended hand, revelling in the warmth of Woohyun's hand. He didn't realize that the both of them had held onto each other's hands seemingly longer than a normal handshake would last. When they finally did part, the loss of warmth and comfort was jarring.

"Sunggyu." He replied simply, trying to gather himself from the feelings that came from such an innocent handshake.

He had no idea what else to say. He definitely classified himself as an introvert, so he surprised himself last week when he actually managed to gather up the courage to try to talk to him. Granted, he was under the influence and ended up not getting to talk to Woohyun in the end.

"So do you usually hang out at this club?" The man asked him, eyes twinkling and seemingly scanning his facial features.

Sunggyu couldn't help but lamely blush under his gaze.

"Yeah. My friend's older brother owns the place, so he has me play gigs here every week to add more variety to the club."

"I see, you're a musician for a living?" He inquired further.

"I try to be. I part time at a coffee shop nearby to make up the odds and ends." He smiled. "What about you, I've seen you here a couple of times here."

He nearly slapped his hand over his mouth when he realized what he had said. Woohyun also looked a little surprised that he had been noticed more than he initially thought.

"Yeah, my friends discovered this club last month and we quite like the place." He smiled widely although he seemed to be smiling about something else.

They carried on for another hour or so of idle conversation, with Woohyun laughing at Sunggyu's lame jokes and Sunggyu blushing at the compliments given to him. He felt comfortable talking to him, since Woohyun, whom he found out was younger by two years, was quite adept at filling in any silence with more questions or anecdotes about himself.

"So what will you be doing after this?" Woohyun asked.

Sunggyu realized that they had somehow gotten closer over the last half hour, Woohyun's leg was on the outside of his, somewhat shielding him from anyone that walked by the bar area. His skin couldn't help but heat up every time the younger brushed his hand along his arm as he made hand gestures while they talked.

"W--well--"

"Oppa!" A voice rang out from behind Woohyun.

Sunggyu recognized that it was the girl he was with last time and froze.

"Sujeong? Why are you here again?" Woohyun asked.

Sunggyu wasn't sure if it was the alcohol in his system or the warm fuzziness he felt talking to Woohyun that made him unable to decipher the look she gave him. They were saying something to each other but he felt his heart drop seeing the two of them beside one another. He turned away slightly, mindful to not eavesdrop on what they were talking about and let the music in the background become his foreground. When it seemed like their conversation took a turn into an argument of sorts, he knew it was probably time for him to leave. He got up quietly, Woohyun having turned his attention fully towards his girlfriend and exited through the back door next to the bar.

He knew he should've stopped the conversation before it even started. What was he thinking pining after another guy who already had a girlfriend?

"Oppa, who was that?" Sujeong asked looking curiously behind him

"What--Sunggyu?" He turned around to find the seat empty saved for the half bottle of beer that was left on the counter. "Dammit..."
