Minseok has a witch for a mum. When you're a angsty teen ( and everybody knows any teen's special talent is to annoy mums) that does not bode well. So when Minseok finally pisses off his mum more than she can bear, she turns him into a cute dog and gifts him to the next door neighbor Jongdae. ("Begone with you! Come back when you've become a better child you ingrate!") 

 

At Jongdae's he's subjected to too much kisses, hugs and love confessions. About himself. Also the hate of the OCD Mrs Kim. And the awful name of "Xiumin". Also the yucky pet food. The list went on and on. The only happy part is the soccer sessions Dad Kim plays with puppy Xiumin, and that only occasionally, courtesy of the extremely busy work he does and Jongdae hating soccer as much as he likes Minseok.
