SHENANIGANSThe next couple of days went pretty normal, I guess ?
The new girl, Hana, and I never talked since the encounter on the rooftop. I liked to think that I preferred it that way but honestly, I was quite troubled by her silence. She didn't talk much with our fellow classmates too.
We also silently agreed to ignore each other when we both were too stubborn to give up the rooftop. So every recess time, I'd sit on the railing facing the field and she'd eat in her corner across from me. I started to enjoy the silent company, surprisingly.
Today was the last day before weekend, so the kids were already planning on some nights out. I sat by myself at my desk and enjoyed my Caramel Macchiato I got from the little cafe in the cafeteria. Feeling like having some fresh brewed coffee today instead of my usual vending machine one.
It's already past recess time but I still haven't finished it so I just brought it to the class.
Hana was reading a book and the way she was holding it blocked my view of the title so I couldn't figure out what book it was. I threw my glance at my watch. We got to go home early to day than usual because the teachers were having a meeting on the upcoming exams.
1:20. 10 minutes more.
I kept my books that have no homework in my locker and the rest, I put in my bag. Hana saw me getting ready to go home and noticed the time on the watch. She also started to pack her things.
By the time she finished, the bell rang and the whole class started to exit the classroom. They were rushing as if the weekend was going to left them behind.
