One silent night, Minwoo thought.

There was no quarrelling on what channels to watch, or some random song being sang out tuned. He could only hear the sound of the air condition working inside the living room. A perfect place to memorize his lines for tomorrow’s taping for the drama, he rejoiced.

Just then he hears the door’s password have been pressed, making his heart pump really fast. All he knows is he will be alone in the dorm since he is the only person who has some commitments to do for tomorrow and the other members went to their homes.

He kept his eyes glued on the door, waiting for that person to come in. Could it beYoungmin? Has he forgot something again? Maybe Kwangmin because he might have quarrelled with Youngmin again. Jeongmin? Did something happened and feel like composing? Or Hyunseong? He might want to use the gym? Lastly Donghyun... Why would he come back here?

“Hyung?”

“Hello Minwoo”  

The oldest person in the group, He smiled. Also the last person he would think to came back.  He sat next beside him; his strong scent resonated on his nose. It is familiar to him, but he can’t help to fascinates that his scent and his personality matches.

“I thought you gone home?”

“Naahh. Manager called I still have schedules”

Showing his phone, Donghyun laid his back and stare at the ceiling. Minwoo dont need to say anything, still he have some lines to memorize. With his age now, 21 years old he got to have a minor role on the drama. Same as usual, more of just a brother of the main character and he finds himself a pair on the opposite side, just to put a side story.

*hiccup*

Minwoo cursed. That annoying sound in your throat that is caused by a sudden uncontrolled movement in your chest. This days he have experience hiccups a lot, and he hates it. Though it will be gone later but still he hates the feeling.

“You have hiccups again?”

He nodded, holding his throat trying to ease it somehow.

*hiccup*

“But it will gone later”

*hiccup*

“Its getting annoying. I’ll get you some water”

He nodded, and Donghyun went to the kitchen. While he decided to finish memorizing his lines and holding himself not to hiccup again but to no avail. After a few moments he hears Donghyun’s steps again. The older have a glass of water in his hands, as he promised and gave it to Minwoo.

“Thank You”

“Wait” Donghyun stop him.

“You shouldn’t drink it the way you used to be, if you want your hiccups gone” The older explained and sit beside him again.

“You need to clip your nose while drinking your water” He demonstrated. And  Minwoo followed obediently.

Donghyun was watching him as he drinks the water, intrigued if his ways actually work.

“Did it work?” He cant help to ask.

*hiccup*

“Ah I know”

Donghyun eyes sparkled from his idea and went back to the kitchen.

....

“Are you sure this one will work?”

Minwoo ask, not sure on the teaspoon of sugar he was holding.

“My grandfather did this when he have hiccups” The older proudly said, confident that this way will work. Though there is no harm trying this one. Minwoo thought.

“Okay” He eat it, and the sweetest taste of sugar welcome him. Which he dont like. He is an average sugar taker, and he have no idea how sugar would help him to make his hiccups gone. But when he engulfs it. He somehow feel peace, and he look at Donghyun with happy eyes.

“Donghyun-hyung”  Minwoo couldn’t believe it woul-

*hiccup*

“It did not work again” Donghyun whined. Chewing his lips in process, there should be a way to get those hiccups away. The older dont know, but he felt himself determined on getting those hiccup away from Minwoo.

“Ah I know” This time he stood up, with his finger pointing above.

“Lets do the rabbit hop!” He pulls Minwoo to stand, which the younger followed lifelessly.

“1 hop ... 2 hop... 3 hop ...4 hop.... 5 hop....”

Donghyun has his arms closed against his chest, then his hands pointing forward, like rabbit hopping. The poor maknae followed, and the two of them are hopping around the living room, like kids.

“Is it gone?” Donghyun again ask. This time its like he is waiting for the lottery announcer to call his name. He can feel the excitement burning inside him, its like solving a mystery he thought.

No doubt he had his eyes on Minwoo more than the other members. He cares too much and favours him in a way that the members find it injustice.  Minwoo is a mature guy, even he is the youngest on the group he is not dependent. As much as he can, he dont want to ask his hyungs for help but something about living a puppy playing alone is a horror situation for them.

*hiccup*

Still it didn’t work

What with this hiccup? Donghyun thought. He tried to remember what else is to do get rid of it, and he felt proud that his brain is working really sharp to remember.

“Oh I know! This is final way” Donghyun stood up and run towards the kitchen.

Then Minwoo was left again in the living room. Suddenly, without knowing, the room became dark.

“Donghyun-hyung?” Minwoo stood up, getting his way to the kitchen.

“What are you trying to do?” He shouted.

When he was about to enter the kitchen door.

“blaaagggggghhh?” Donghyun has his hands looks like clawing and doing the most scariest facial expression he could muster. He tried to look like the ghost from the horror movie they last watch. That Minwoo was really scared.

Because he remembers, one thing to get your hiccups gone is to make the latter be scared and be shocked.

“Are you scared?”

“Nope”

“You don’t?”

“Yeah”

“How did I fail this time?!”

“I saw you coming hyung”

With the grumpy Donghyun, they decided to get back to the living room, and turning the lights on.

They both lay in the sofa, staring at the ceiling again.

“What will I do to make you better?” Donghyun ask. Which Minwoo really find it adorable. He giggled.

“Nothing Hyung. I’ll be okay later”

*hiccup*

Minwoo gulped. He tried to remember what he last did to make it gone.

*hiccup*

They are just gone without him noticing. Massaging his throat, maybe it will ease it a bit.

*hiccup*

Just then he felt two hands cupping his face. And met his lips in a sweet taste.

It took him time to realized, Donghyun has kissed him.

And all he could hear is his heart thumping fast.

He hold his chest, hearing its wonderful beat.

He smiled to the kiss and respond. It was no longer a silent night, even if he could close his eyes he could see dancing colors rejoicing, like fireworks. The place which is dead silent is then filled with thumps that give him bliss in his ears. Embracing the older in the process, he misses how close they are. He misses his warm, and his sweet nothing.

Today, he concluded. There are two things he is gladly gone.

His annoying hiccups

And his heart.

Next day:

*hiccup*

“You aren’t faking it right?!”

“What?”

“Just so you can kiss me”
