Before you leave, can you do me a last favor?

Can you take me to where we first met?

            A gentle brown orbs looking at me pulling me closer

            A shy smile etched on your face

            Your cheeks a lovely shade of pink

Can you hold my hand like you’ll never let go?

            Your thin, long- hands that gave me warmth during cold nights

            Those soft hands of yours that always makes me feel calm

            A pair of loving hands that have swept the tears off my face

Can you sing me a song full of love?

            Your silvery voice that always calm my weary heart

            A sweet lullaby that makes me dream a wonderful dream

            The way your fingers caress the piano keys and hum a song always leave me      breathless

Can you hold me in your arms like you used to?

            Our chest so close together I can feel your heartbeat next to mine

            An embrace of protection like a shield from the raging storm

            A minty scent wafts through my nose, a scent so uniquely yours

Can you say “I love you” one more time?

            The way my name and those precious words roll off your tongue so perfectly are like       music to my ears

            You my love are my inspiration; you stir up my soul; you’ve put a spell on me

            Three words changed my life completely

Can you stay with me tonight for the last time?

            I want to remember your beautiful face under the moonlight

            I want to kiss away the frown on your face when you have the darkest of nightmares

            And as I too lay to bed and rest, I’ll utter my vow to you – to love and cherish you forever, for truly until death do us part.
