IN SUMMARY

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January? I got into BNHA/My Hero Academia. Season six was released in October, so I marathoned the series and really got into it. I never considered fics for it before. After that, I decided to give Detective Conan a try, and it has me by the throat.

What's your own favorite story of the year? It's not complete, but I stared a BNHA fic inspired by Nightmare on Elm Street. Aizawa's special forces or something similar and doesn't save Eri from Overhaul in time, so he has nightmares that she's calling for him. He finally pulls her from the dream, but Overhaul still haunts and hunts them.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year? ACTUALLY WRITE. I'm happy I drew so much this year, but I really miss writing.

From my past year of writing, what was ... ?

My best story of this year: I think Chewing the Red String of Fate is pretty cute and humorous. I enjoy it, anyway; not sure about readers, since it's not gotten comments.

My most popular story of this year: It's you, but maybe it's me, too. got the most kudos on AO3 of the five fics I posted.

The story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: I'm a fan of thrillers and horror, but neither are big genres in fanfics, so the more horror-aligned The Truth is in the Pudding isn't as appreciated as it could be. unu

The most fun story to write: I had fun re-writing A Good Day to Have Stayed Home. It's reworked from a scene I'd started for a fest fic. Baekhyun is a human dating a powerful demon, Kyungsoo, and decides to pull a prank that ends up blowing up in his face. Even though it includes demons, they're not the y or super powerful and evil kind; they're more human, and the expectation versus reality is made it fun to write and, hopefully, fun to read.

The story with the single iest moment: None of my fics had anything particularly y. Maybe the chin tilt in A Good Day to Have Stayed Home.

The most "holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: Nothing this year. Maybe next year.

The story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Rather than shifting perceptions, my Detective Conan fics kinda adjusted my perceptions? The series is goofy in that very few people make the connection between Conan and Shinichi or at least Conan and his possibly-genius-level intelligence. Writing him and Kaito sees them at more relatable people? Like, the people around them aren't as dumb and silly as they sometimes are in the show. Or something. I dunno how to say it. They're still a pretty new cast to me, and I haven't read many other fics to help me get a better idea of how to portray them.

The hardest story to write: Wool you love me, if I drop a stitch? is a remix of a shape a scarf by VOlympianlove. As such, there is already a known story; the original author is familiar with it. Keeping it within the same frame isn't always easy. Plus, following a schedule and deadlines is kind of unnatural for me, so the time constraints made it hard to write.

The biggest disappointment: No fic disappointed me, just the lack of productivity in general. I have plenty of ideas but not much motivation or drive to actually write more than parts of scenes.

The biggest surprise:

The most unintentionally telling story: There wasn't anything all that telling that I don't openly share. Baekhyun in A Good Day to Have Stayed Home is a lot like me, being a homebody. I don't hide that, though.

Favorite opening lines:
It is a bad mindset, but sometimes Shinichi finds himself wishing for crime to happen. Something small, like a pickpocketing, just enough of a hullabaloo to distract everyone and give him an excuse to run off on his own in the name of truth and justice.
Chewing the Red String of Fate
Most of my openings weren't very inspired, unfortunately.

5 favorite lines from anywhere:
"Did you really think I'd destroy the entire apartment to get to you?" Kyungsoo's offended. That offends Baekhyun, who feels he's evidently not worth the additional effort.
A Good Day to Have Stayed Home
"Neechan, I'm not a puppy!" He does feel like biting someone, though.
Chewing the Red String of Fate
"Wanna have ?"

No one sounds cool saying that.
It's you, but maybe it's me, too.
"What am I supposed to do? Pretty sure if I was faced with the most expensive and gorgeous jewel and a Kudo, I'd at least look at Kudo."
It's you, but maybe it's me, too.
Baekhyun has sat up and is trying to juggle three balls of yarn, but he keeps his hands too close together and drops them. "Could you teach me?"

Joonmyun blinks stupidly. "To juggle?" He may be a man of many talents, but juggling is not one of them.
Wool you love me, if I drop a stitch?
