Lunch Box

valentines day and I wanted my SO and me to spend sometime together, maybe watch a movie. But of course, there is that called work and the excuse called 'not right now'. I've heard time is money, if so, am I rich since I have too much of it or poor coz I don't know what to do with it?

Anyway, I decided to watch a movie and I'm still reeling.

The Bollywood industry spews many unnameable they like to call movies. Sometimes though, there is a of brilliance and that was what I witnessed today and its not because of Irfan Khan my favourite actor.

If I had to choose the protagonist, it would surely be the dabbawallas who ensure that no matter what part of Mumbai you work in, your lunch box reaches you. The dabbawallas are supposed to be error free and that forms the essence of the story.

' sometimes, the wrong train takes you to the right station'. This off repeated dialogue actually forms the whole movie!!

A simple story really. Ila a housewife craves for the attention of her ever busy husband. Taking the advice of her friendly neighbour auntie, Ila prepares a special meal and sends it through the dabbawallas. Except that the tiffin box reaches someone else. Noting that the box is empty, an ecstatic Ila awaits her husband's arrival. He conveniently forgets about the box and when questioned rattles off the wrong menu!!

The box was delivered to a widower Mr.Fernandes, and continues to happen on a daily basis, except that now a friendship of sorts blossoms between the two, such that they even talk of meeting.

In this fast paced world of WhatsApp, SMSs and Emails, a series of small handwritten notes hidden in rotis, show the simple joy of the written word.

This movie brings out the expectations of a normal human being- the need to be accepted, to be loved.

A delicate story with intricately woven characters, performed with élan by the actors. A truly stunning movie.

It was a delight to watch this movie. I loved every moment of it. There was nothing unnecessary in the movie, every single movement made sense. I'm truly glad I watched it . Time well spent definitely

That actually sounded really interesting. Is it in Hindi or English? I assume there are English subs though :)
It's named "Lunch Box"?
