Know What I Hate?

This is the first time I've written a blog that isn't to promote one of my stories xD

so I'll get straight to it, I like to be concise.

You know what I hate? Finding a story (whether or not it's on asianfanfics) with a REALLY, REALLY good plot...

but...

The writer is just down-right horrific. I understand that some people can't write as well as others or English is not their primary language. It's not my mother tongue either but what bugs me is when people use it as an excuse to write horribly structured chapters/paragraphs/stories in general.

If I stumble upon a story with a really good plot but I go to the first chapter and see that everything is crammed into ONE HUGE FRICKIN PARAGRAPH - I immediately unsubscribe.

Spaces. Use them.

Paragraphs. Have them.

STRUCTURE YOUR STORY!

OR GET A FRICKIN (what are those people that read over your chapters before you post them? Co-readers? Idk) JUST GET SOMEONE TO CHECK IT FIRST GODDAMMIT. I EVEN VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE! I'm a grammar nazi and it kills me when I have to turn away from a story because of the incessant mistakes. There's only so much I can take T_T

It's just such a shame seeing a good plot go to waste. Aish~ I've ranted enough. Does anyone else share my petpeeve?

I hate this omg! It gets to me more if i see a simple word spelt incorrect. like you said, not everyone is fluent in English but please, if you're gonna have an awesome plot make sure the words are readable :)

This is totally me, there are soo many amazing plots on this site, but then the writing style just , it'seems so bad that I want to cry.
No one is really annoyed by a few grammar mistakes, but if you can't make a decent structured story then please get someone to help you write the story

I feel you!! I can't read it if there's too many grammar and structural errors BUT THE PLOT IS SO GOOD UGH gets on my nerves

Same! Isn't the structure of writing a story the same all over the world? Oh and the person that'll read and edit your story (basically give you feed back) is a beta reader or an editor ^^ Just letting you know~ Anyway, I have the same pet peeve and it kind of makes me sad, like I found this story that had a great/good description and all, but as soon as I read the first chapter I unsubscribed :( Everything was just crammed into one huge block of text, there were barely any commas used, grammar was bad, it was horrible >< /sigh/

I feel you. Paragraphs, man, paragraphs!
I'm pretty good at reading and comprehending.
Grammar mistakes are okay. I probably make them myself despite my okay English.

But paragraphs, I believe, are essential to the flow of the story.

So, I feel you, Annie. I feel you.
