My Grand Canyon Trip

14 people. 16 days. 4 boats. 8 sets of oars. 0 guides.

This is my adventure on one of the natural wonders of the world and the most epic rafting trip in America, The Grand Canyon.

Us setting out on Day 1

People that wish they could be doing what we were doing

Here's our first camp.... on pure rock. Apparently, the sand all washed away.

Here's us unloading the boats for camp number 2

A waterfall we got some fresh water from. The bank was soooo slippery.

Here's us making a stop at Redwall Cavern. This place is HUUUUUGE. I'm sad I didn't take a better pic of it. We played football and frisbee in there.

Here's a pic my brother took with his Ipod Touch

Just some awesome pics

This camp because it was a to pull into with that bad current next to it. I think it took us an hour to get all the boats together. On the upside, there was a beautiful creek that we got fresh water from and bathed in.

Awesome pic is awesome

The creek that made it worth while

After staying at that camp for a while, we went farther down and stopped at deer creek. Which has a badass waterfall.

This is Havasu. See that incredible bright blue water? No, they do not dye it, no it's not photoshopped. This place is 100% natural.

My mom and a guy named Bob are swimming back to the boats while the rest of us hiked.

Here's what my camp setup looks like without the tent. Sleeping under the stars and bright moon was sooooo nice. Though one time I woke up covered in ants that were attracted to my badger balm... lol oh well atleast they were black ants, not red. (anyone notice I messily put Taeyeon's name on my ammo boxes?)

Here's where my friend Dewey and I hiked up an area next to camp.

Me standing on the edge of a cliff.

A little mini canyon branching off from the big one.

RAINBOW :D

Way up high from everybody else.

Big group going by our last camp

ING HUGE SCORPION. SIZE OF MY GODDAMN HAND. Lol this was the night my brother, Dewey and I were trying to catch ringtail cats. Ringtail cats are animals that look like lemurs from Madagasgar, but have cat-like feet. I think they're somehow related to raccoons. And the whole time we were doin that we were trying to avoid two types of scorpions. There are these big mofos, then there are the smaller, sand colored, more deadly ones. I was wearing in flip flops. Lol all we had to do was shine our flashlight right in our path because the small ones hate light and avoid it.

Mmmmmm food. I ate better on that trip than I do at home. We had everything from teriyaki pork chops to Seafood Alfredo.

Surprisingly, we had ice, fresh food, and beer for the ENTIRE TRIP. Even in 110 degree Arizona heat. How? Well we had these really good coolers filled with food. Every meal we had a main course, salad, sides, and DESSERT. Best. Food. Ever.

Anyway, we traveled (I think) 236 miles.

Through all the sweat, adrenaline, scares, fun, blood, pain, tears, strength, and happiness, I think I can definitely say it was the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Sorry I don't have any pics of the amazing rapids we went through. Those were the best.

But hey, I got bragging rights for the rest of my life saying I rafted the Grand Canyon at 15 years of age. yeah.

Lol I took "those amazing pictures". Yeah the water at Havasu is bright blue from some sort of mineral content. It also makes the rocks white (teehee I stole a rock from there).
