background — choi dongyoon, was a new and young music conductor at the place where soyeon improve her musical talents. she was 23 and he was 25 that time, when finally they fell in love with each other and decided to get married. at their early years of marriage, they didn't want to have any child yet, so they can maintain their career first. it took 5 years before they had their first daughter, who is ahyoung. ahyoung was born in busan, on late december 1993. although having a baby at that time, ahyoung's mother decided to retire from her job only when ahyoung was 5. growing up in a heavily music oriented family, her father introduced her to many instruments and music stuff since ahyoung was so young. just like a genius girl, she could play guitar fairly well even when she was 9 years old.

 

at first, she wanted to be a miss korea, but her parents wanted her to become a musician and a singer, so they enrolled her to a private art school which is seoul of performing arts, and that's the reason why she moved to seoul, leaving her parents back in busan. though at first she just wanted to be a singer, she suddenly saw idol's life as an ideal life for her. at first, when she told her father, he was quite hesitate to support her, but with her aegyo, ahyoung managed to get her father's support. and so then, she started to search for an agency through joining many audition from various agency. unfortunately, she was rejected many times, before finally, a few months before her graduation, she was accepted when she auditioned at j.tune camp.

TRAINee life — she joined j.tune camp on early 2011, took dance, vocal, and rap routines before at the end giving up being a vocalist and decided to focus to rap and other talents such as emceeing, playing music instruments and stuff. being a daughter for a well known music-oriented parents, a lot of fellow trainees didn't like her at first, more over with her sassy personality. but then, after a few months, she became the social butterfly with lot of friends because of her rather fun personality. on her first year, because of her progress and compliments from a few teachers, she was chosen to appear in mblaq's music video, monalisa, back then. it was her precious experience, and from that, her passion to be an idol grew bigger. she trained harder and more determined to achieve her dream, only to debut as a girlgroup, in the middle of 2014.
