She has a scar on her knee from when she tripped over a curb crossing an street in Seoul, and she has a birthmark on the left side of her hip. She has bite marks on her hand from the time her friend's cat bit her. She also has some light freckles on her cheeks that she constantly covers up with makeup.

personality — Soorin, in a constant attempt to become her own person and not be labeled as "that cousin of the Jungs", works extremely hard. With this hardworking and perservering attitude, however, comes a certain amount of sheer stubbornness, and she does not let anybody boss her around. She knows from her extensive training period how tough the competition out there is, and she also knows that the 'Jung label', even though it helped her out initually, has the possibility of not always being a good thing. As an artist, she continues to hone her singing skills and tries constantly to be the best, but not in a bad, self-obsessed way; she knows her strengths and weaknesses and she doesn't try to 'beat' people for the top position. If it's clear she deserves it, she'll accept it. If not, she'll just keep working till it's hers.

Soorin reminds everyone to have fun every once and a while and to lighten up, with her random kkab dance battles putting a smile on the faces of whoever happens to watch them. She tries to make the sad people smile and laugh, she knows how to comfort the defeated, and she knows all the best jokes. However, her style of trying to make people laugh is definitely not "act cutesy and do aegyo to make them smile". No, she's definitely a "hey, let me publicly embarress myself and tell a few jokes" kind of girl. She is definitely not your stereotypical innocent Asian girl, and she has "been around the block" a few times, and she most definitely has a erted side to her. She knows when to be serious, obviously, but if it's not the right time or right situation to be extremely serious in, she'll know and try to lighten the mood.

To Soorin, honesty is key. Lying is definitely not tolerated in her book, as it is one of the only things that will make her truly angry. She figures that if you've earned her trust, she'll get yours in return. Of course, everyone has their secrets, and Soorin gets that, but she'd much rather you'd not tell her something than lie directly to her face. Soomin may be a trusting PERSON , but lying to her will severely hurt her trust in you.

Of course, because she's so honest, she sometimes forgets that the person she's talking to is human. Her comments or suggestions, while helpful in the long run, can sometimes be extremely critical or harsh, leading people to believe she's severely insensitive, which is true. However, it's not like she's making a conscious effort to be that way. She's simply telling it like it is, and forgetting that the person she's talking to may not think like she does, and will probably take her comment the wrong way. If someone tells her off or says that she has no right to say what she says, however, she will definitely argue, since she thinks her way is the right way, and everyone else should think like that. She's trying to be helpful, goddamnit, and she gets really upset when people can't see that.

Soorin, once again, isn't consciously messy. It's simply easier to leave that sweater on that chair instead of folding it, or easier to leave the can on the table instead of getting up and throwing it away. After that thinking mindset for a while, you have a dorm room that looks like a hurricane swept through. She lives by herself, as she is a soloist, so she only ends up cleaning whenever she plans on having company over.

Soorin tries extremely hard to keep her cool (she needs to set a good example for the younger trainees and be a role model), but if something really ticks her off (and it takes an huge effort to do so), she'll explode. Things such as a. Being extensively compared to Jessica and Krystal, b. Saying she's not as good as Ailee or BoA or IU, or c. People telling her she's an insensitive when she's really trying to help you are easy, one-way tickets to hell if you mention them to her. She has a huge temper, and it does take her a while to cool off. Again, she has a hard time seeing the other person's perspective, so she thinks she has a totally legitimate reason to blow up when it's really just a tiny comment. She doesn't care that it's your own opinion, that's not her opinion, so it's not ok. Her temper also shows very easily, which makes it all the more important to keep it under control while on camera. However, she's been experimenting with ways to try and appear indifferent or calm, but none have worked yet.
 

background — Soorin's parents met in the hospital they both worked at, and were soon married. Soorin was born soon after in 1990.  Soorin, even at a young age, enjoyed singing and dancing, often putting on little performances for her parents, something that Soorin's parents enjoyed and greatly encouraged. When Soorin was ten years old, her family living in Korea (her aunt, uncle, and two cousins) came to Korea for a family vacation. There, the three young girls were all scouted by a talent scout from SM Entertainment. The two families agreed that Krystal and Soorin were too young, but allowed Jessica, the eldest, to join the company, Jessica and Krystal's family moving to Korea to compensate. Soorin's parents decided to let her 'sleep on her decision' to follow Jessica for four years, and when Soorin still expressed a desire to perform, they let her successfuly audition for SM in 2004 and Krystal soon joined in 2006.

TRAINee life — Training at SM was hard yet easy; the hours of dancing and singing were grueling and relentless, but unlike some other trainees, her relatives were going through the exact same thing, and the three of them often depended on each other for support. Soorin was not considered for the Girls' Generation lineup, but three years later, Krystal and Soorin were both drafted for the f(x) project group, something that the two girls had been dreaming of ever since Soorin joined the company a year ago, but Soorin ended up getting cut since SM felt that she didn't fit the sound or the image of the spunky and eccentric f(x). After f(x) debuted, Soorin decided that it was time for her to transfer to another company; Jessica and Krystal had both made their mark under SM, and Soorin felt that she was going to do the same thing as well, just under a different company. Although SM was reluctant to let her go, she was quickly transferred to J.Tune, where she ended up training for another year before making her solo debut.

personality — Arrogant and proud, Himchan can come off as a total douchebag. He's handsome and a talented singer/rapper and he knows it, and his position as the visual of the group doesn't help with his ego much. He isn't flat-out rude and says that he's better than you (hey, he was raised with some manners, give him some credit), but the confidence that oozes out of him is enough to make you feel inferior. He can be a playboy when he wants to be, as he knows that females are likely to fawn over his handsome looks and 'charms'. Why people like him, no one knows.
However, if he decides that he really likes you and if you've earned his trust, he can be a real softie, and he has the ability to be a kind, sweet, and caring individual. It's not that he puts up a facade, but he's found that being nicer to the people close to him generally make them like him more. It doesn't mean he's gonna stop being a douchedick, though, it's just an observation he's made.

First meeting — Soorin and BAP ended up promoting at the same time, and when she bumped into BAP, they introduced themselves, being the good little hoobaes they were. BAP was overall very nice to her, but some of the words that came out of Himchan's mouth made Soorin want to sock him across the face. When the two of them bumped into each other privately and Himchan started to hit on her, Soorin flat out told him that if he ever said anything bad about her singing or if he ever tried to 'pull something', she's kick him in the nuts.

relationship/interactions — The two of them would bicker whenever they'd see each other, but Himchan always knew he had an attraction to this girl, even if she was annoying sometimes. It took a while for Soorin to soften up enough so Himchan could show her that he was capable of being a decent human being, and she ended up falling in love with his softer side. Whenever they're in public, they make sure not to show too much skinship or make it too obvious that they like each other (Soorin will still pick on Himchan in public and Himchan will pretend to be hurt), but everyone within the industry knows that they're a thing, and have been since 2013.
