TRAINEE YEARS + TRAINEE LIFE » 5 years + during her trainee years, Mirae always stuck to the motto, "work hard, play hard". As a trainee, she gained many friends due to her bright personality and raw talent for rapping. Even though being a trainee was stressful from the long overnight dance practice sessions and constant vocal training, Mirae loved all of it to be honest. Sure, life was tough during that period, but it made Mirae mature into a better person. She was never really bullied since she got along with basically everyone. Trainee life was perfectly fine for her. Like her motto, she work hard while balancing many friendships with the other trainees.

style » When it comes to style, you could say that Mirae's style is inspired from Grunge fashion. With all the dark clothing she wears, Mirae really likes to have printed clothing to be the statement piece of her outfit. For example, if she were to wear a black skater skirt with black tights and combat boots, she would make her statement piece a printed bustier with a black t-shirt underneath it. For Mirae, fashion is more than just clothing, it's how she expresses herself. She really loves having fun with her outfits and barely ever accessorizes her outfits with jewelry. Her outfits already say a lot so she just keeps it simple with a black watch. Another thing you'll realize about Mirae is that she really loves her hats. Beanies, snapbacks, bowler hats, any kind of hat you name it, she'll probably have it in her wardrobe.

"Meet Mirae, she's the crazy one in the family" — When you first meet Mirae, the first thing you'll notice about her is that she's a complete goofball who doesn't know how to stop moving most of the time. If you know Mirae, then you'll know that she's very quirky. She's always in her own world, talking to herself and daydreaming off into the distance. You'll notice that Mirae's not just your average twenty-three year old. She's the type who'll wonder off into her world, talking to herself about the most strange things. She's the one who'll be dancing around the kitchen late at night, making cookies for everyone. As you can see, Mirae's very unpredictable. She tends to do things spontaneously and doesn't really think about her actions. Although she may be a little careless with herself, she knows her limits; all you need to know is that she's not trying to kill herself on purpose. 

 

"Wow, he's really bald. It's not peach fuzz, just straight up baldy!" — Due to her careless personality, Mirae is also careless with her words. She has a very blunt character; meaning she's the one to tell you how it is. She doesn't sugarcoat her words and just says what's on her mind. Although, her words have gotten her into some trouble since some people don't like her harsh comments. Mirae means well; it's just that she says what she wants and doesn't have a filter. After getting to know Mirae, you'll understand that Mirae's quite honest with people. She doesn't mean to hurt anyone with her comments; she's telling them the honest truth and what she sees. She's giving people her honest opinion on certain topics. For example, if you have a booger on your nose, you'll bet Mirae will tell you to pick the er out your nose. Or if your outfit looks horrible and needs a little loving, you'll bet your sorry booty that Mirae will drag you back to the closet and dress you into a more suitable outfit while telling you how you would let yourself go out looking like that. 

 

"Ohana means family, and family meets nobody gets left behind" — One thing that people love the most about Mirae is her caring nature towards people; she literally treats everyone like they're a part of her family once they meet her. When it comes to her members, she's the one that everyone goes to whenever they need to talk to someone. Not only will Mirae hug you and pat your head, she'll comfort you and make sure that you come out smiling when you exit her bedroom. Once you're friends with Mirae, be warned that you'll be bonded to her; there's no escape. Mirae's an extremely loyal friend who takes care of her friends and family better than herself. If you're sick, Mirae will actually freak out and nag the crap out of you. She'll tell you how germs are everywhere and to take care of yourself better while suffocating you in multiple blankets and cook soup for you.

You have no idea!" — Even though she might be a little overwhelming with her overly affectionate personality or you get offended by her harsh statements, just know that Mirae isn't trying to get on your bad side. In general, Mirae's just a very loyal friend who loves the people around her more than herself. She finds enjoyment being with people and hates being lonely. She has a heart of gold, but it's her words that put off people. She doesn't know how to control and just blurts out whatever is on her mind.

Lemonade: It is literally Mirae's most favorite drink ever; she could drink every single day of her life.

Card games: Never ever play cards with Mirae unless you're extremely good at them. When it comes to card games, Mirae is a hardcore card junkie who doesn't know how to stop. She really loves playing them.

Social media sites: Even though she likes to keep her personal life private, she uses social networking sites to talk to her fans and interact with them. 

Indie Music: Mirae's a real big fan of the Korean indie music scene. Her favorite indie artist probably has to be either Neon Bunny or J.Rabbit. She really loves discovering new talented artists and listening to songs that don't have that mainstream vibe to it.

Video games: Mirae probably has a lot of video games stacked up in columns in her bedroom. Since she's a huge gamer, her collection of video games is huge and continues to grow.

Salty Food: When it comes to food, Mirae really likes it when her food bursts with flavor. She especially loves salty food so things like potato chips and french fries are her guilty pleasure.

Action Movies: Mirae's a huge fan of action movies. She loves the thrill that comes with it and the graphics.

Stuffed animals: Stuffed animals are like the greatest things in the world for Mirae. Instead of getting her new clothes or giving her money on her birthday, just get her a stuffed animal. Soda/bubbly drinks: She hates the overwhelming frizzy feeling, plus it's horrible for her body.

HOBBIES » 

Gaming: Ever since she was young, Mirae's always been a huge gamer. Her most favorite game as of right now has to be Bioshock Infinite. When it comes to games, Mirae really loves a good plotline and looks a lot into the graphics of the game.

Fishing: Since she grew up with just her father and younger brother, they went on multiple fishing trips and would make many trips to Busan. Most of the time when Mirae visits her father, they'll plan to go fishing. Since she started fishing at a young age, she's pretty good at it.

Playing sports: Her top three favorite sports would have to be badminton, volleyball, and soccer. 

Web surfing: Like many people her age, she enjoys surfing the internet and finding new memes.

Watching anime: Most of the time when Mirae has freetime, you can always see her catching up episodes of the latest anime she's watching. Instead of being obsessed with kdramas, Mirae is addicted to watching anime.  The list of what animes to watch keeps growing.

Fears » 

Big bodies of water: Mirae is absolutely terrified of them. You literally have to dragged her to the beach or pool. She can't help but cringe whenever she passes a lake or ocean. She's afraid that she'll drown since she can't swim or that some kind of sea creature will pull her down and gobble her up.

Puppets/Dolls: Mirae has a bad irrational fear of them. When she was little, her cousins made her watch this horrible movie with puppets. For months that movie haunted her dreams and she had to sleep with her brother for a few months. She will literally freak out and cry if someone were to throw a puppet at her. She hates them and gets extremely nervous when she sees one. She'll start breathing fast and her face gets pale.

HABITS » 

Now, dance!: Whenever she hears a good beat, she will start nodding her head and sway it back and forth. If she hears a good song, she might start doing little silly dances to express how good the song is.

Kekekeke: When Mirae laughs, she'll clap her hands like a seal and flings her head backwards with open. Many of her members like to make fun of Mirae by doing impressions of her.

Ughhh: When Mirae is angry, she tends to cry which is why she'll leave the room to calm herself down.

Bunny hopping: When Mirae is really excited, she starts jumping up and down like a bunny and claps her hands

Sleep time: When Mirae goes to sleep, she puts her hair into a ponytail. She then changes into t-shirt, a sports bra, and a pair of shorts. She has to wear shorts because she gets hot easily.

Beloved Rappers: when it comes to her favorite rappers, she has three: Zion.T, Primary, and Beenzino. She is such a big fan of them. Whenver she's stressed out or mad, she'll just go into her room and listen to their music for hours; their voices soothe her nerves.

Weird Upbeat Songs?: Despite being a underground rapper who surrounds herself with Hip Hop and R&B, Mirae has a guilty pleasure for songs that have funny undertones and fast beats. Songs from people like PSY, Norazo, Kim Jongmin, and many other comedians are her favorite things in the world. 

Sali Go Dali Go: Ever since Kim Jongmin came out with "Sali Go Dali Go", it has literally become Mirae's jam for days. She's been replaying over and over again in the dance studio, learning the dance with Hoya. It is one of her most favorite songs ever.

Stop, you're gonna go bald!: Along with her wardrobe, Mirae really likes to play with her hair. Her hair has probably been through a lot; more than your average yound female adult. Although, it's rarely ever a neutral color. For Mirae, her hair is always a funky color. Her most favorite hair colors either have to be a dark gray or a pink pastel pink. As of right now, her hair is a pastel pink color.

Tomboy since forever: Mirae has always been a tomboy. Only until she was fifteen did she start to like wearing skirts. Instead of playing with dolls, Mirae really enjoyed playing sports and video games.

Stop, No!: Whenever Mirae watchs a sad movie or hears something really sad, expect her to either be tearing up or already crying puddles. Even though Mirae has a tough image, she cries really easily. A lot of her members make fun of her for it, but she just brushes it off and continues to cry huge puddles of tears. She would probably be the one to cry if Halcyon won a music award.

Underground rap scene: Back in the olden days, Mirae was a underground rapper named Mickey. In the underground rap scene, she was quite well known due to her talented rapping skills and connections to other underground rappers like Woo Jiho (Zico).

Pescetarian: Despite living in South Korea where beef is worshipped, Mirae is a pescetarian; meaning she only eats fish, vegetables, fruit, etc. She doesn't eat meat because it causes problems with her bowel movements and gives her uncomfortable gas. Other food products that she doesn't eat are eggs and dairy products.

Queen: You wouldn't expect this, but Mirae is a mega huge fan of the girl group, T-ara. She probably has all of their albums in her bedroom, stacked next to her video games. Her bias is Boram and Eunjung.

Sushi: Out of everything she owns, her most prized possession is her big fluffy frog plushie named "Sushi". She's had it since she was little and it was given to her on her birthday from her father. If you mistreat her little "Sushi", she'll go crazy and Mirae's already crazy enough. Anyone who's close to Mirae knows that Sushi is extremely important to her. Call her childish, but the plushie is very meaningful to her. If anything happened to it, she would probably go insane.

Jellyfish Entertainment: Before Mirae joined Woollim entertainment, she used to be a trainee for Jellyfish Entertainment. After a year of training, Mirae switched over to Woollim due to her difference in music. While training at Jellyfish Entertainment, she made many friends; her closest friend had to be either Cha Hakyeon or Jung Taekwoon, also known as VIXX's N and Leo. After she left the company, she still kept contact with the other trainees. When VIXX finally debuted, she literally blasted all of the members' phones with messages of her telling them how proud she was of them. Ever since VIXX debuted, Mirae's always been cheering them on social media and votes for them.

Variety shows: Besides anime, Mirae loves watching variety shows. Her favorite shows are mostly on KBS besides Running Man and We Got Married. 

Hidden Photo: Unknown to any of her members, she has a photocard of Leo during VIXX's Hyde era. She really loved the long hair on him and kept the photocard on a hidden part of her bunk bed. It's one of the reasons why she doesn't let anyone go on her bed. She doesn't want her member's to steal it and blackmail her with it.

Tattoos: As expected, Mirae has multiple tattoos on her body. She has many tattoos on her hand; "smile" on the side of her index finger, "fear nothing" on the side of her middle finger, and "soulmate" on the side of her ring finger. On the back of both of her elbows (the antecubital area), she has "Life's too long to wait" on the left while "Life's too short to worry" is on the right. She has other tattoos on hidden parts of her body, but that's a secret for now; that's for her soulmate to find out.

Babyhood:
— December 24, 1990: Hwang Mirae has finally arrived and has came out kicking!

— For Mirae's babyhood, she had a pretty average life. Her father would spoil her like a princess and loved her with all of his heart. During this time, things between her mother and father were still rather good. They rarely ever fought and shared almost every waking moment, taking care of Mirae together. For Mirae, this time period was where Mirae wished she remembered the most; seeing her father and mother happy.

Childhood:

— October 15, 1994: Hwang Minhyuk is welcomed to the world and Mirae couldn't be any happier!

— September 1995 - December 1998: Three years of her father and mother fighting. Every time they fought, Mirae would bring her brother into her room and play with him to distract him from the loud yelling. Despite Mirae's attempts to distract him, Minhyuk would always ask Mirae about their parents and why they were always fighting. During those three years, Mirae was miserable. She hated the nonstop fighting.

— December 22, 1998: Her mother finally leaves the family and says goodbye to both of the children. She tells her father to sign the documents and mail them to her new address. It was two days before her birthday and her mother just decided to get up and leave her. Once she went out the door, Mirae's heart shattered and the trust she entrusted in her mother was gone. She resented her mother for leaving her.

Teenage Years:

— December 24, 2005: (Mirae turns fifteen!) Mirae finally finds something to express her resentment towards her mother; music. After discovering hip hop and the underground rap scene, Mirae made rapping a hobby. On this day, she got a new computer and an audio mic. She would compose and record songs, and upload them on social networking sites. 

— During her teenage years, Mirae's passion for rap grew the more she performed at local cafes. When she was sixteen, she was heavily into the underground rap scene. Many people in the scene knew Mirae as Mickey, a popular underground rapper who uploaded her songs on social networking sites. She had many viewers and was known as the "Golden Girl" of the underground rap scene.

— June 21, 2007: Mirae auditions for Jellyfish Entertainment. After two weeks of waiting, Mirae was finally accepted as a trainee for Jellyfish Entertainment. During her stay at Jellyfish, she meets many other trainees like Jung Taekwoon and Cha Hakyeon. Those two became her closest friends and treated her like family.

— August 10, 2008: After training for one year at Jellyfish, Mirae decided that the music she was producing was way more different than what Jellyfish wanted. After consulting with her father, she auditioned for Woollim Entertainment. Once she got accepted as a trainee, she canceled her contract with Jellyfish and switched over to Woollim.

Present times:

— Right now in the present, Mirae has been training for her debut with Halcyon, Woollim's new co-ed idol group. For five years, Mirae trained for her debut with the other Woollim trainees. While training, Mirae also performed at local cafes and clubs, making her fans and herself happy.

Father: Hwang Jinhyuk | 50 | English Professor  | humorous, loud, honest, affectionate | To Mirae, her father is not only her support system, but also her role model in life. Even though her mother left her father for another man, it didn't faze him at him; sure, he was upset that she had an affair, but there were more important things like his children. Despite being a single father with a busy schedule, her father always made time for Mirae and her brother. When it comes to her father, she admires him a lot for what he's sacrificed for the family. Whenever they're together, her father is always joking around with Mirae, telling her weird jokes and even asks if she has a boy toy yet. Whenever Mirae's with her father, she's always smiling. She loves her father to death and would drop everything for him, just like what he would do for her and her brother.

 

Mother: Jang Sunmi  | 49 | Writer | calm, quiet, reserved, reckless | Since she left the family when Mirae was only eight, their relationship is like nonexistent. It's been fifteen years since she saw her mother. Once she left, any forms of communication was cut off. Even though Mirae doesn't want to admit it, she holds a lot of resentment against her family. Whenever someone asks her about her mother, Mirae gets very tense and tries to change the subject very quickly. 

 

Younger Brother: Hwang Minhyuk | 21 | University Student | friendly, outgoing, brave, overprotective | Unlike her relationship with her father, Mirae really loves teasing her younger brother and likes to play pranks on him. Despite their silly arguments, Mirae loves her brother a lot and is constantly worrying about him. Since they're very close, Minhyuk always goes to his sister for advice and can talk to her about everything. Even though Mirae acts like a total fool around people and gives him a lot of second hand embarrassment, he really admires Mirae for her ability to not give a care about what people think about her. Sure, his sister is nuts, but he still loves her anyway; even when she suffocates him with hugs and pats on the head.

Best friend: Lee Howon (Hoya) | 23 | Idol (Infinite)  | kindhearted, caring, playful, blunt | Even though Hoya looks very cold and distant towards people, when you get to know him, he's quite the jokester. Whenever they hang out, they're always laughing with each other and goof off way too much. Since they both have similar senses of humor, they easily clicked when they first met and are the best of friends. Without Hoya in Mirae's life, life wouldn't be as fun. Hoya is literally Mirae's partner in crime; they're almost always together. Since they are both love to dance, Mirae and Hoya absolutely love dancing to funny upbeat songs and making ridiculous dance routines to them | When Mirae got accepted as a trainee, the first one to welcome her was Hoya. Since she was a rapper, the Woollim CEO had Hoya teach her and train her. While he mentored her, they easily clicked due to their love of dancing and become friends.

Close Friend: Woo Jiho (Zico) | 22 | Idol (Block B)  | bold, goofy, loud, hardworking | Since they've known each other for a long time, they're very close friends who are always cheering the other off. In the past, they've recorded and composed songs together and perform them at local clubs. Whenever they hang out, they're always making weird faces to each other, talking about the most random stuff. Mirae's pretty wild by herself, but when she has Zico on with her, they go crazy. Together, they loved pranking their members and taking random derpy pictures of them. When they're not hanging out, they like to text each other memes and talk about new songs that come out  | While Mirae was performing one of her newest songs, Zico approached her after she was done to tell her how she was so amazing on stage. After getting to know each other with coffee, they give each other their phone numbers since Mirae wanted to collaborated with him. During the progress of collaborating with each other, Mirae and Zico became very close friends.
 

Friend: Jung Hoseok (JHope) | 20 | Idol (BTS)  | silly, friendly, outgoing, mischievous | Since Hoseok is a few years younger than Mirae, Mirae tends to treat Hoseok like a little brother. She absolutely loves teasing him about his weird jokes. Whenever they're together, Mirae and Hoseok are always chatting to each other. Occasionally, Mirae gives Hoseok about improving his rapping skills. To Hoseok, Mirae is both a mentor and older sister. Even though she nags him about being so skinny and eating more, Mirae really gives him off this comfortable vibe that reminds him a lot of his own sister. Whenever he has a problem, Mirae's always there to listen to them and helps cheer him up. | Since they were both from the underground scene, they saw each other multiple times. It was only when Mirae officially introduced herself to him during one of his performances that really made them friends. After hanging out, Mirae and Hoseok were able to become good friends.

PERSONALITY » 

When you first meet Leo, you may think that he's a completely arrogant person who doesn't have any manners, but he's the complete opposite. He doesn't think that he's way better than people at all, and is actually quite insecure about himself. Leo's quite shy around people and it's kind of hard for him to open up since he's quite reserved. He's the type that talks when it's necessary. Besides his reserved nature, Leo is actually very mannered. He literally treats everyone with respect. The only reason why Leo speak to someone with a rude tone would be when they didn't deserved his respect. In Leo's mind, everyone should be treated with respect and with a open mind. He isn't quick to judge and welcomes people with a open mind. He believes that everyone deserves a chance.

 

One thing you'll notice about Leo really easily is that he's very loving towards children and small animals. Whenever he sees a little kid, his face will literally brighten up and he'll have this big smile on his face. To Leo, children are the most precious things in the world to him. When it comes to children, he becomes very fatherly. Even though Leo sounds like the "perfect man", he even has his own flaws; one of them being his stoic personality. Unlike Mirae, Leo finds it hard to speak about his emotions and doesn't like to bother people with his problems. He's the type to hold everything on the side. Due to his independent character, no matter what Leo is struggling through, he keep it to himself. Although Leo doesn't speak much and hides his feelings away from people, he does speak a lot through his actions; his actions speak way more than his words.

HOW DID THEY MEET » On Mirae's first day of training at Jellyfish Entertainment, she accidently bumped into Leo while trying to find the training room she was assigned to. Once she hit the ground, she profusely apologized to Leo. Since it was her first day, she didn't want to have any bad blood with any of the other trainees. Leo looked up at her, telling her that it's fine and grabbed her hand to lift her up from the ground. As soon as Mirae was standing, Leo asked her if she was lost and if she needed any help. When Leo said that, Mirae literally thanked the lords for giving this beautiful angel to her in her mind. After introducing herself and telling him her problem, Leo helped Mirae to the roon she was trying to find. While they were walking to Mirae's training room, Leo showed her his training room and told her to come any time she needed helped. Following that incident, Mirae started to hang out with Taekwoon a lot more and they became good friends.

 

HOW THEY INTERACT» Even though Mirae left Jellyfish for Woollim, the two are still the best of friends. Sure, they might be the complete opposites of each other, but for some reason, they get along quite well. Whenever they're together, Mirae absolutely loves teasing Leo, telling him silly jokes and making faces to make him laugh. Although Mirae may look like she bothers Leo most of the time with her playful ways, Leo actually enjoys Mirae's personality a lot. He admires how she isn't afraid to act like herself and just does what she want. She doesn't let anyone stomp over her. Leo might not show that much emotion to his fans, but when it comes to Mirae, he always has this small smile on his face. When Mirae and him are hanging out, they could literally talk about anything, from serious topics like war to simple things like T-ara's new song. To Mirae, she can talk to Leo about anything and he could listen to her for hours. After knowing Leo for a while, she couldn't help but fall in love with his personality. Sure, he might be a little quiet, but she likes that about him. Call her crazy, but she really likes Leo and has been for a while. In Mirae's heart, he's a very great guy and she's been really struggling with her feelings about him. She wants to confess to him about her feelings, but the risk of their relationship getting awkward kind of freaks Mirae out. As for Leo, the feeling is definitely mutual. At first, he thought that she was going to be this rude and obnoxious person, but once he got to know her and really hang out with her, he realized that Mirae was really a one of a kind person.
