Ever since she was a child, Hami was always very fascinated by her mother's ballet recitals and her father's photography. She knew she wanted to become something amazing like them when she grew up. When she was in elementary school, her class did a play and she grew very intrigued by it. Memorizing lines and acting naturally came to her while the singing was a fun bonus that came with it. When she was 7, her family moved to Taipei so her mother could get more performances opportunities and so Hami could kickstart her acting career as Liang Mei. She snagged her first job advertising for soymilk when she was 8, gaining lots of love for her adorable face and cute voice. She appeared more on shows where kids show off their talents. Along with a pretty face, she had a pretty voice as well. 

When she hit her pre-teens she began to model for clothing and other fashion stores while maintaining her title as "Doujiang." Although she enjoyed the model life,  she felt like she couldn't express herself and all of the energy that she had so she went on a modeling hiatus and focused on singing. She entered HIM Ent when she was 14 and when she was 17, she was able to be featured in Fahrenheit's music videos since she looked mature for her age. Since he was the youngest of the group and the company had them work together often, they grew very close. They were like the Britney and Justin during the time. She never really officially debut, instead she sang OSTs for any dramas that her fellow label mates were participating in. When she was 18, they both starred in mystery drama "Mysterious Incredible Terminator." Shortly after the drama ended the leading cast were featured on Happy Camp where they were teased at for dating. Although many shipped them together, they remained as close friends only. As Aaron continued his acting career, Hami would sing OSTs for his dramas until she joined SM in 2011. Once fans discovered that their Soymilk left to pursuit a career in Korea they sent love and support trusting that SM would achieve her potentials. 

Recently she had released a song with her buddy called "1/2" this is the first time they have seen each other since she left to train under SM so the reuniting was great for the two.

Yixing was always happy to see new trainees,  especially Chinese ones. He knew what it felt like so he wanted them to feel welcomed. When he saw Mei he already knew who she was: Doujiang. She recognized him too as Zhang Yixing. She laughed and told him to not call her Doujiang and just call her Mei. Yeah no, he still calls her Doujiang til this day.

When Mei and Yixing are together, they act like a bunch of immature school kids together. Even if she was older than him, he quoted be the more mature one. Always laughing and poking each other. BUT you don’t know what they’re saying, they speak in Mandarin together. Since Yixing is very soft spoken, Mei is the polar opposite that brings out the life and spunk in him. Although he's kind of intimidated by her close relationship with Aaron,  he knows they're just very close friends.
