Help? Advice? Thoughts?

Ok, so I just finished reading a book for a summer assignment. And I need to write a book review for this. When I went to type it, my mind just went blank. I feel like I have to go back and look through the whole book again. What I mean is that while I was reading, thoughts do appear. But when I'm not, I feel so...empty? Blank?

So, can you guys/gals please give me some advice on how to write a book review?

Thank you.

What grade level are you? Cause I think it makes a difference.

I think most book reviews talk about the characters, the plot - conflict and resolution, the execution of the work and your personal opinion of it. Where do you think the book had its strengths and its weaknesses.

Also you often start a book review by providing a synopsis of the story.

I.E In "Snow White", the readers follow the protagonist Snow as she's cast out by her evil stepmother, to be killed in the woods by a hired huntsman. Unable to kill her, the huntsman strikes a deal and Snow was never to return home ever again. To satisfy the queen, the huntsman brought a heart as proof of the murder and unbeknownst to the queen, it was that of a wild boar. As Snow wonders through the woods, she finds solace in seven men and although they were apprehensive at first, they took her in and a companionship grew among them.

The characters were flawed and unrealistic, sticking to the archetype of fairy tales where there will always be villains that were inherently evil and helpless damsels as protagonists that needed "princes" to save them. if they were to be viewed under the lens of realism, people would agree that these characters were static, and no personal growth occurred. Etc. Etc.

The plot is mostly linear and blah blah blah.

Did that help? You dont have to follow any type of format just be creative and talk about the different elements of the book.

I hope I helped!
