PREVIEW of 'OVERDOSE: Midnight Memories'

The pain demands to be felt....*

The night is getting dark. There is no light whatsoever. I can feel thorns hurt my skin. Ignoring the pain I run through the night. Somehow I can see his silhouette even in the dark. He runs so fast. My mind thinks that it is so strange. Is he running or flying, I don’t know. Whatever he does, I don’t care, as I only care to catch him. I breathe shortly as I can feel my feet hurt a lot because of running non-stop. The sweats keep flooding my temples. He has run faster than ever. I think I will never be able to catch him. So, I have failed…

“Minseok…,” I can hear my own voice calling the name that I shouldn’t have called. Immediately I open my eyes and the darkness of my room welcomes me. I sighed in frustration realizing that the same dream has come again this night. The same dream that has been on my sleep for several weeks already. I sweep the sweats on my face while kicking the blanket away from my body when I see someone standing on the dark. I furrow my brows while standing on my feet. “Lu Han, here already?” I hiss. “When did you come?” I ask while turning on the lamp.

I can hear Lu Han chuckles before muttering, “Sorry, I have been watching you sleeping.” He then walks to my direction. “The same dream again, huh?” He whispers. His cold breath brushes my skin. I jolt and back away. “… Uhm, sorry.” Lu Han mumbles before taking a few steps away from me.

“It’s okay.” I say before reaching the door to get some water on the kitchen. Lu Han follows behind me. “Hi…,” I clear my own throat, “… Lu Han, you want to say something?” I ask while turning my body to him who back away in an instant. He looks at me widening his eyes.

“Say something what?” He asks. “Do I?” He points his own self with his index finger.

I nod before walking again and Lu Han keeps trailing behind me. “I have remembered everything, by the way.” I say as I reach the kitchen and walk to the fridge. I open the fridge and take a bottle of mineral water when I can see from the corner of my eyes, Lu Han stands still on the side of the counter. He looks at me, in a –probably– confusion.

“What?” He utters. “What is it exactly that you have remembered, Sarang?” Lu Han looks at me seriously.

I shrug my shoulders. “Just…,” I stop for a while to gulp down the water, “… you are not my savior, Lu Han.” I look at him. “Does that give you enough explanation?”

Lu Han rubs the back of his neck. “How far you have remembered?” He then looks up to meet with my eyes.

     “Everything.” I say.
