Types of comments on YouTube that I hate.

We all have commented on YouTube at some point in our KPOP life. We either have commented the ever-so popular “Who are they? They’re awesome. Can someone tell me who they are?” or the “Stop hating on them. You don’t know what they’ve been through.”

I’ve been a KPOP fan for 4 years and I’ve finally grown out of that shell that comments and/or protects a certain group that I like. I still read the comment section because; a. it’s funny to see people at war and b. to see who appreciates my babies. I respect all sides of this spectrum; the STAN’s, the haters, and the children. It keeps the comment section alive.

But even with that said, it gets annoying sometimes to see constant “I hate them,” “Oh my gosh, don’t judge them,” “They look bad,” “Let them rest,” and etc. now to those who don’t like to be made fun of, stop reading. This is purely because I’m bored and I just re-watched a Red Light live that had every type of comment I hate. So without a further ado, here are my top 5 most annoying comments on YouTube:

  1. Haters (those that proclaim their other group is better)

I’m going to use the most famous clash between groups around the internet, “SNSD vs. 2NE1.” These two groups are by far the most different of groups from number of members wise to music wise, so I don’t understand why their fans are so…mad at each other. Don’t get me wrong, I know not ALL fans hate Soshi or 2NE1 like me (SOOONEEEE), but a lot of fans do.

Why can’t I watch a Soshi MV without reading a comment saying “2NE1’s music is better, why listen to a bunch of plastic girls?” or a 2NE1 mv without seeing “They’re not even as good as SNSD, why do they have so much fans?” SHUTTUP. YOU ARE THE VERY REASON WHY BLACKJACKS AND SONES CAN’T BE FRIENDS. Why start a fanwar over something so trivial and that the group themselves don’t care about? I just think its plain stupidity to write things that you know will cause havoc (am I being hypocritical for doing this then? LOL).

  1. “They look sooo tired *insert company name* let them rest!” and “They’ve been gone for sooo loooong. I want a comeback!”

SLAP YOURSELF. You, are the epitome of hypocritical. You’re just as bad as those fangirls who scream when their oppa’s kiss but go nuts over 4L’s teaser. I…I don’t get it. They look tired so you want them to rest. They leave for 3 months and you want them back? YOU ARE NOT GOOD WITH RELATIONSHIPS. This bipolar attitude confuses me like crazy. Make up your miiiiiiiind. It’s either you appreciate that they’re performing even though they look tired, or be happy that they’re on a hiatus so that they can rest. THERE IS NO IN BETWEEN.

  1. Overprotective fans

I’ve mentioned already above that I used to be that commenter that answers to every hate comments and respond like I’m the group’s lawyer. Weeeellll I’ve stopped. As much as I miss the constant adrenaline of responding with my awesome wit (sarcasm), I don’t need the kind of negativity that downgrades me, my friends, and my family. To those who still protects their group, just leave the haters be. They’re like a flock of bees. If one of them gets hurt, they call in back up and they kill you with their words that stung. They even add in your friends and family as if you know them personally.

But there are types of comments that you really should comment back. On the recent poll on Billboard about that fan war thing, when SNSD won the match versus Demi, some LOVATICS actually dug up some sad news about Soshi. They made fun of Tiffany’s mom’s death, and why Yoona’s mom left her. These types of comments you should address, because they not only hurt you, but they used the terrible past of your favorite group because they’re bitter.

Don’t be overprotective over stupid comments like “They’re all lip syncing,” but reply to “So this is why her mom left her.”

  1. Random/Racist stupid comments

We all hate these. HAHAHA. As a frequent YouTube watcher, I’ve seen these random comments a lot on videos by YouTubers. They could range from promoting themselves (as a rising YouTuber) to “If you don’t post this in 5 videos, you’ll die.”

I haven’t seen much of these types of comments on KPOP vids, but the most random/Racist, overused comment is: “THEY ALL LOOK A LIKE.” As an Asian person myself, this doesn’t really bother me because dudes…some of us really do look alike. But what does bother me is the context that comes after that: “LOOK AT THESE CHINESE PEOPLE” oooor “WHY DO YOU PEOPLE LISTEN TO THIS? CAN YOU UNDERSTAND IT?”

First off, I know it’s a stereotype that every Asian comes from China because it’s big and populated. We get it. We have small eyes so we’re Chinese. Annoying. The language barrier is almost always a sore spot to most KPOP fans. It’s actually probably my most hated comment ever. I don’t see why you need to point out the “I don’t understand them. Why listen to this crap?” things. Good music is good music. A person doesn’t have to know a language just to appreciate a song. It’s bull. Insensitive brats like that are the reason why KPOP fans are so defensive. BUT! I have come up with a perfect (nope) comeback to that.

If a friend ever asks:

“Do you even understand them?”

Reply:  “Do you think they listen to English song?”

They will most probably answer:

“Well yeah. English is global.”

Reply again: “Do you think most of them understand it?”

They will say:

“Not really.”

Reply: “Then is a crime to listen to a song I don’t like?”

Them:

“No…”

And kill it with my signature line: “WHEN WILL YOUR BRAIN?!”

Please, please, no flash photography, please, I’m just like you. You’re welcome.

Finally…

  1. HATING ON A MEMBER BECAUSE OF EXCESS CAMERA TIME

THISSSS. THISSSSS GETS ON MY NERVES SOOOO MUCH. Believe me, I get annoyed too when I don’t see enough Sunny-time or when Onew hits that high note and they zoom in on the audience, but pleaseeeeeeee, understand that the cameramen are the ones in control. Actually, the directors, they tell which camera to edit in or which to show on TV.

I do nooot understand why you’ll hate on a member because they’re being shown a lot, and chances are, you’re mad at the groups visual. THAT PERSON IS A VISUAL FOR A REEEASSOOOOON. They are the prettiest (or so they say), they are there to catch people’s attention and to garner more fans. They are supposed to be the ones that will attract people the most. Now, a lot say “Well, this other member actually got me more hooked” but be honest, didn’t Himchan smirk his way to your heart and you watched all B.A.P badass vids in one sitting? Didn’t Yoona captivate you for a while before you realize that all 9 we’re goddesses? BE REALISTIC. They are given roles for a reason.

A live performance of f(x) made me write all this. They hated for Krystal because she had the most camera time and that she had a different outfit. Krystal tends to stand out the most because she can. I’m not saying other f(x) members don’t because they do, but she really does. If you hate that she has a different shirt and that she has a hat, tell the stylist! Because I honestly think she won’t ask to stand out. THIS IS THE GIRL WHO HATES TO BE WATCHED. She has more camera time? Then I guess the director has a crush on her because he zooms in on her A LOT.

Because of our biased feelings towards certain people, we tend to forget who gets hurt. We don’t see the bigger picture and comment based on what we see right now. Trust me, I hate a group, I don’t appreciate some things, but I don’t say anything because I don’t know what lies behind the words or actions. Try to rationalize things out because sometimes, it’s the only things that can ease heart ache.

PS: Babe, don't stalk me. That's creepy. HAHAHAH

PPS: I apologize for the length. I was bored.

HIIIII I'M THE FIRST TO COMMENT WHEEEEEEE
i dont usually comment on youtube and neither do i watch youtube videos that much, but i see the same thing happening on fb. just yesterday, i saw some really hateful comments towards red velvet, (and i'm sad to say) coming from the SONE fanclub from my country. you know how even i get annoyed if the new SM group is called the next snsd or f(x) or whatever? well, the reason i get annoyed is because simply put, red velvet should be red velvet. leave snsd and f(x) be. i'm not saying that this new group will never become as popular as snsd or anything like that, but i feel like they have so much pressure on them right now to be debuting at this time.
let's all be empathetic for a minute here. these girls, they're our age. do they really deserve to be called all those names, receive all that hate, just for choosing to follow their dreams? there are those that say it's their choice; they willingly chose this road knowing the hate that they will get. and like you, this makes me so mad. do we have to make their lives more difficult by giving them the hate that they don't deserve? it's their fans love that they crave, if you don't like them, just don't associate with them!
it's not red velvet's choice that the company decided to push them forward by saying they will be like the nxt snsd. it's not their words. so why hate them when they have done nothing?

(sorry i know i dont make much sense when i talk offhandedly like this) so what i'm trying to say is... all that hate. they don't deserve it. don't compare. love them for who they are. and if you don't, leave them be. WHY CAN'T PEACE AND MUSIC REIGN IN THE WORLD?

p.s. u cant stop me :P
