[PSA] Protect Your Login Information and PII!
Here at Asianfanfics, solutions for bug fixes, errors, and other issues are handled by an administrator, or the Moderators/Helpers, depending on the situation. We do not require one's login information to fix these issues; we have various ways and methods of solving these problems without accessing your actual accounts. The Helpers and Moderators will never ask you for your password or personal email. If anyone sends you a message asking for login information of any kind, block them and let us know immediately. That is a prime example of someone trying to run a scam for whatever purpose (serious or otherwise) and no official member of AFF will ever ask you for that kind of secure information. We do not take this sort of activity lightly, as we do not know what level of harm is meant and so we treat all cases equally.
This is a great time to remind everyone to keep your PII (personally identifiable information) off the Internet as much as possible. What is PII? This Wikipedia article covers much of it, but for TL;DR purposes - it's personal information that can be used to identify, contact, or locate you or another individual. That's information you do not want to hand over to just anyone online or in person, as it's a very easy way to make yourself a target for identity theft, which is a serious crime in the world and very prevalent nowadays.
Always hesitate and think twice before giving even your email address out, everyone! Even something like a Facebook or Twitter profile may contain information like your birthdate, where you live, where you go to school, where you work, etc. and a person can use any of it against you, or to commit identity theft.
