Whom do you write like?
Ok, so maybe it's a little intimidating to try to compare yourself to successful and highly recognized authors. However, when you get someone or in this case something else to do the work for you, then it starts to feel less like outright bragging because you are only repeating rather than claiming to be the next (insert favorite author's name here). So, why not try it for yourself?
I Write Like will analyze your writing and not steal store your words.
If you're like me and not satisfied with just one result because that's not scientific unless it's repeatable, then you can continue to insert random snippets of your writing. Keep in mind it's based on word usage so depending on the subject of your sample it might sway to a certain genre. As if you could only do this once and stop because it's fun.
Results so far: Arthur Clarke Edgar Allan Poe Chuck Palahniuk Oscar Wilde James Joyce
Now I feel a bit like I might be a pretentious old man, but either way I think I have some new books to add my reading list just to compare the result for myself. Although, I should note that upon taking more samples I started to get repeat results...so perhaps this is more accurate than I originally expected.
