Yesterday I heard from one of my friends on AFF that Kris is leaving Exo. I didn't think it was true so I did some research. Before I give my opinion on the situation I'l tell you the facts.

It has been said on serveral sites that Kris wants out of his contract. His lawyer (which is the same one former SJ member Hangeng had) filed a lawsuit and he wants his contract to be expelled. The same sources claim that SM wanted him to sign a slave contract and he refused and/or he signed a slave contract and wanted some things changed.

This story is trending worldwide. I, as a Kpopper and an SM stan, feel obligated to speak on it.

In all honesty I'm not surprised that an SM artist decided to leave. This has happened many times before. I feel like an artist leaving the company is something to be expected unfortunately. It hurts my heart to think that Exo will go from 12 to 11. I don't like it at all. It is said that he didn't like the way he was being treated which is a common thing for SM groups. I feel that with a big group like this (in both size and popularity) something is bound to happen. I believe without a doubt that SM didn't treat them right. I believe that they all were overworked, underpaid, and barely treated as human beings. I'm not really sure if SM was being biased towards the other members or not but I think the conditions are probably the same for all of them.

As for Suho's little comment on Mcountdown?? I think it was a total faux. I think SM told him to say that. And SM is a real for doing what they did. Having Suho up there by himself?? Obvious indirect shade towards Kris.  Last time I checked Kris is in Exo M. Having K up there could've been an option. What was the reason for having Suho up there alone talking about Exo not being selfish and acting as one. I HIGHLY doubt he would say those words on his own. I don't know a thing about their personal life but Exo seemed super close. I believe that whatever Kris's problem was he would've had enough respect for him not to ditch him in public. I also believe that SM is forcing the members to bash Kris and unfollow him on social media accounts. SM is making Kris look like the bad guy in this ordeal.

For the most part I agree with Kris's decision. If he couldn't work with them then I understand that he had to leave. In SM and EXO's defense I don't necessarily agree with his timing. In the middle of their first Comeback this year isn't the best time to want out of a contract. I believe it should've waited after or should've been done beforehand. On the other hand, I don't know what goes on behind closed doors therefore, I don't know the circumstances nor the reasoning behind his actions.

This is very disappointing news to hear. What's even more disappointing is that this happens right after I admit that I am an Exotic. I really hate that it has to even come to this. And I feel like for the first time I am able to relate show sympathy to this situation. Back in the TVXQ-SJ days I had no idea Kpop existed. I think it's time for SM to make a change. This has happened too much. Is it that hard to pay and respect your artists?? There will forever be a piece missing in Exo. Even if they get a new member, even if Kris goes solo. Exo won't be the same again. He was one of the first members I knew. I really hope Exo and Kris can recover from this. I bet they are beyond devastated. I will stand by both of them faithfully.
