My Take on Kris' Lawsuit

I am rather aware that there's been an explosion of blogs speaking of this topic, and that I'm rather late in this.

Honestly, I didn't even want to say something and just move on, but I can't with some people OTL.

So may the rant commence /shot.

Disclaimer: These are all MY opinions, meaning that this is only what I think. I'm merely stating what I make of this whole situation, so don't take anything I say personally.

1. The assuming needs to stop.

Nothing is even confirmed yet, but people are freaking out and spreading rumors. This only adds more confusion to everything, as if everything wasn't obscure enough. No one really knows what is going on, and the only people who really know are Kris, his lawyer, and the company. Or at least the higher ups in the company. Everyone else? We know nothing but what the news has put all, almost all of which are not true/confirmed. Also, people are spreading fans' analysis of the situation and proclaiming to be true, when they are not in fact true. Or at least not confirmed. So please stop spreading false rumors. It's of no help to anyone.

2. The hate needs to stop.

This means hate to Kris, the EXO members, and yes, even SM. Because no one knows what is going on as of yet, we can't judge anything or anyone. I'm aware that SM has had a very bad track record with their artists, but this is a different situation (to me). To begin with, Kris isn't asking for his contract to be completely terminated? We just have to see.

And then EXO members. Why the HELL would you hate on them? Of course they're going to be hurt. They most likely didn't even know Kris was planning to do this. You all act all hurt too, but you don't even know the man personally. The EXO members do. They trained with him, debuted with him, and lived with him for 3-4 years. They have every right to be surprised, hurt, and angered by this. They are going through as tough a time as Kris is, and they really don't need the hate stemming from unconfirmed news. Stop.

Finally, Kris. Why on earth would you guys give him hate for this? First off, we have absolutely no idea what is going on. Secondly, he has absolutely every right to control his own life. If he doesn't want to be under SM then so be it. You guys are fans of him? Then appreciate his thoughts, feelings, and emotions. If he feels this is right for him, then more power to him. It's upsetting that he's doing this, yes. But that's what he thinks is best. I hate to add these examples to something pertaining only SMTown, specifically EXO, but I feel this is relevant.
UKISS is getting a new member, but they've lost and gained members in the past. Xander and Kibum left, and there was a lot of backlash. But then Dongho left not too long ago because he felt as though his health was strained when he was an idol. There were haters, yes. But a lot of us KissMes supported him because this is what he wants, and he believes it's better for his health.
And then 100%'s Sanghoon. He's taking a break, because he isn't sure of this entire idol life yet. And I don't even blame them. I just started watching Roommate, and idols go through hell. They have poor living conditions (although I feel way worse for Kang Jun. He lives in an absolute hole), and they have horrible schedules. They rarely get sleep, yet they still smile for their fans. On top of this, they have to deal with sasaengs, and we all know how well that ever goes.
And this is probably what Kris feels, on top of having stringent rules placed by SM that restrict him from having a say in anything.
Don't hate him for doing something he thinks is right. Yes, it that if he leaves, EXO is down to 11 members and that makes it incomplete without him. But we have no idea what is going on, how everything will end up, and what SM plans on doing, so we all need to calm down and stop the hate.

Hate in general isn't even good. It's nowhere near good. It needs to stop.

3. Respect each other.

I know we all have different opinions on this. I obviously have a less popular opinion since a lot of the things I've read is almost the complete opposite of what I've written so far. But hating within each other helps absolutely nothing, is completely useless, and needs to stop. I wasn't there for DBSK's split, but I was there when Hangeng left. Hate does nothing. Respect each other's differing views. Be understanding. Support each other and EXO. Hate won't heal the fandom. Respect and understanding will.

4. Extreme actions upon hearing the news.

This needs to stop too. Apparently a 12 year old from the Philippines committed suicide over this. This. Something that is not confirmed. Something that is obscure. Something in which nothing is certain. But she committed suicide. I'm sorry, but this is not a good reason to commit suicide. Nothing is, but this especially. People who deal with severe depression and urges to commit suicide are dealing with mental illnesses. It's a problem that society needs to understand is extremely prevalent. But this girl died because she believed the rumors that spread like wildfire. I'm not going to say I don't mourn her death, because I do. Every life lost is tragic. She left her family, her friends, her future for this. But you know what the saddest thing is? What if she died for nothing. What if this suicide was moot because the wrong news has been spreading? People are saying that it's SM's fault that she did this, but no. While SM may have indirectly affected her to do this, it's mainly due to the rumors that people spread. Fabricated stories done so well that they're believable, and this is what results. I know the fandom is going through emotional turmoil, but please try not to hurt yourself or others as the fandom goes through this.
I'm sorry that she had this kind of reaction to the news, but I honestly don't get it. Perhaps I'm not as emotionally attached to the idols as many people are. But this needs to stop. You are throwing your life away for someone you don't know based on false news, and that is nowhere near okay. You shouldn't throw your life away for anyone.
Rest in Peace, little one.

So why am I even writing this when I'm not a fan of Kris? Because he's a part of EXO. I may not be a major fan of theirs either, but they are human. They go through a lot, and this is upsetting all of them. And while I may not be a fan of Kris, he deserves respect for everything he has been through, and he really doesn't mean any harm. I hope. He's like the gentle giant.

But beyond that, I dislike the way the media has been portraying this, and how news is being relayed to fans. With that said, my rant is over.

Remember, EXO fans.

We are One.

I just found out about this yesterday.. & I'm really shocked with the news!! I'm not really fan of exo but I'm adore them:) I mean there are so many rumors about it & about the comment that Suho said it's legal? About the Philippines girl it's true?? but how come?? Only 12 years old & decide to take her own life because of this.. I'm sorry but I pray for God to bless her.. but this action is too much as a hardcore fan!! About the contract I'm clueless here.. it's say to terminated contract or just to make a few changes?? I don't know what to say about this news but just wait & see what will happen next!! I mean everyone had a reason in every action they take but what make it's different whether it's for their own good or because of something else?? I hope the rumors is not true & Kris still in exo:) Kris fighting!! you know what consequences may happen but still brave to do it & I hope it's a good reasons .. & the rest of ExO fighting!! I really hope none both of Kris & Exo gonna hurt but.. in the end.. ?? In this situation fans need to being supporting, patience & together as one..to support their idol..

I never really understood what's in the mind of those people who call themselves a fan but then they are so quick to judge and ridicule "their idols". This is personally just my own opinion but I think a true fan is someone who loves and enjoys the music that is presented to their ear and that respects "their idols" and the decision he/she or they make and most importantly respects themselves enough to not post negative comments; specially in the heat of the moment as well as start some ridicules internet war with someone or some people. And personally I'm a little angry towards that stupid act of suicide (sorry to those that think that word should not be used when talking about a tragedy like this) that the little girl did but that's because their are a lot of people fighting with everything they have in themselves just to stay alive just a second longer and here she decided to throw her life away for a reason like this and the thing is there are some more people out there that think like her and take there lives for granted over something like this; that is what pains and angers me the most. But seriously idols are people, they are human too just like you and me, we all have that sometimes annoying thing called emotions and they too get hurt.

I agree with you entirely. I discovered the news while going home and well...we'll just have to wait and see. Even if everything is true, Kris's life is his own so I don't really get why people are hating practically everyone involve. As for Suho, in which I have read about his opinion, and btw I READ it, but have not SEEN it directly, I really do think he have the rights to feel that way. I mean, they are both leaders, and Suho have share this job with Kris since the very beginning, managing the twelve boys, so he really have the rights to feel like this. Though part of me is saying that I need to see the footage to believe in it. And Suho had also trained the longest out of all twelve, which means the debut he had was something very important to him, so he's just expressing his feelings like how a NORMAL HUMAN would expect to react if something like this happen.
Secondly, I NEED to know why Kris decide to file a lawsuit, even though I have a slight idea. I'm pretty sure nobody would file a lawsuit when they're in one of their prime times without a serious reason. At least nobody stupid enough would do this. And I do NOT think Kris is stupid at all. He's old enough to decide for himself now.
Thirdly, did u see SM Entertainment's Wikipedia page? It's been less than a day and it's already up there in the controversies section, which is pretty ridiculous.
Fourth, I believe that the EXO members aren't stupid enough to destroy their friendship over a rumor. And this is just my opinion, but I'm starting to come with a theory. I really hope SM aren't forcing the boys to do these things. I saw an article somewhere that even though Tao posted what he did, he also posted something like "I love u wu fan" but it was immediately taken down.
The EXO members have been together for several years so I believe that they're going to get over this their way. Not SM's way, but their way.
Anyway, that was just my opinion.

So I agree with all of this so I'm not even going to add on I just want emphasize that since nothing has been confirmed, we practically have no say.
And if he does leave then at least we were able to be with him for two years.
