It takes Two

May be slightly controversial, it is my personal opinion

So, today many Kpop fans were shedding tears at the news that Kris may be leaving Exo.

This is one of the most controversial topics I have heard of this week.

For all us Exo fans, it is extremely upsetting and heartbreaking. For all Kris stans, there is probably a lot of grief. However, I have seen many mixed reactions and many comments, both encouraging and nasty.

First thing I would like to say is that the arguments are mostly extremely one-sided.

In my opinion, it is the fault of both parties. It takes both parties for an issue to rise.

So for those who are bashing either Kris or bashing S.M. and Exo, do think wisely and logically before you blame the other party.

This is a 2-way look at the problem.

I won't be one-sided here because I'm not biased to either side.

Kris

1. S.M.'s history of exploiting and manipulating goes a looooong way back, to DBSK and Hangeng. He would have known about the issues before signing the contract. He signed it with the knowledge.

2. The other Exo members seem to be fine

3. He left quite suddenly and unexpectedly

4. He left right before their concert- Affects both the fans and the members, who have to redo choreo

5. If he leaves, it will affect the fanbase, as he is extremely popular in Exo

6. The Exo members seem to be shocked as well, and are now expressing their emotions online, giving the impression they are going against him. Esp Tao and Chanyeol, who one would expect to be close with him. This may put them in a bad light. You may think : Oh they're not loyal at all. But imagine, if you suddenly hear this kind of news, wouldn't you be hurt and shocked?

7. Perhaps if he waited a while more, he would be able to pursue his acting dreams like Suju members

S.M. (Exo?)

1. They really should have seen this coming from when Kris left to Canada previously. They should also have learnt to start treating their artistes with due respect, like real humans and not like robots.

2. They should have been more aware and alert, observing and taking notice of his feelings and emotions, maybe they would have been able to see this coming

3. They should have given him some freedom to pursue his dreams outside of being on stage

4. They should not impose such stringent and restrictive rules on him, and give him some freedom and space

5. They often use the income of the groups for other non-group related activites, resulting in low-pay and unfair, unjust treatment

6. The Exo members' instagram updates may be a bit harsh. I felt pretty shocked at Chanyeol's because t reminded me of a death threat... And Tao's sounds a little deep as well. Perhaps they should solve the problem internally first, instead of starting it on social media

7. Suho's message for Osen was pretty sharp as well. He really seemed to reflect how upset he was with Kris, and how disappointed he was. But that could just be S.M. working through him, to get to the fans. We never know if S.M. is working through their instagram accounts as well.

So this is a balanced argument, but at the end of the day, the real lesson is that we can never completely blame one particular party. Even if it's one mistake versus a hundred, there's bound to be that one on the other party's side, or there would be no problem. So please do not bash either side, and don't fight over the matter. At the end of the day, it isn't our decision to make, we can only hope for the best. And this time, if you think about it, even if he stays, he may become distant with the members. I'm not saying he should leave either. But in every decision, in every choice, there are upsides and there are downsides.

As fans, I feel that truly caring for Exo means respecting the decisions of both parties, and cooperating to help both recover from the loss if any. I believe we should be supportive and continue to give our love and good spirit to both parties, and pray that they may overcome this problem in a peaceful manner.

Lastly, let us hope that the decision will benefit both parties, and that they make the correct, wise decision that they both mutually agree on. Hopefully, we will continue to see them progress and grow, whether or not together or apart.

Stay positive and stay calm:) Pray and hope for the best:)

I totally agree.

I think the reason for their reactions is because they were caught off guard -if what Tao wrote was indeed written by him and I think it was. Different people react deferentially, some say harsh things, bad things or deep things.

Not to mention the worst timing ever ><
