Meeting Korea

Seeing Korea through Kdramas and Kpop is one thing and experience it is another. Well, I had the chance for the latter as I was riding the tram with two Korean guys.

It should be nothing special actually. Szeged - the city where I study - is quite stuffed with overseas student (my university is called The University of Szeged, if you're European you may heard about it) since there's a lot of different faculties and scholarships are within easy reach... But that's not my point. My point is that as I was travelling for 10-15 minutes with them, I heard them talking and I was grinning like an idiot for sure. (I didn't see myself from the outside of course but I know I can't hide my feelings well).

It was awesome! I don't speak Korean (yet) but watching a lot of K-things (LOL what a weird collective noun for Kdramas, Kmovies, Kpop etc.) I was able to understand things like "진짜 / chincha", "솔직이 / solchigi" and "헝가리 / Hungary [the name of the country where I'm from]" and I can't tell you how happy I felt then. Really, I almost missed the tram stop where I should get off. For some people maybe it's not a big thing but for me it is. I've seen Asian people day by day in Szeged but I've never been neither this "close" to the people of the country which I love nor heard and kind of understand them. It was a magical moment which I don't think I'll ever forget. :3

(By the way the guys were cute, they wanted to go shopping to the nearby supermarket. One of them had shoes which he had bought here and he seemed to be rather satisfied with it... Oh, how much I like Asians and their cuteness!)

I've never been to Szeged, only the Tesco (lol) but I did see quite a few asian people in Budapest the last time I went there... We went to the Japanese restaurant so maybe that was why but still, the capital is always floded with people from every.single.nation. Tatabánya (where I live) isn't, so I've never had the chance to understand a word or two from foreign people T.T I swear the most tourists we had was whent eh Americans were here xD Anyway, I guess you had a good day cause of it. I dunno you btw, but obviously, I'm Hungarian to and was veeeery surprised to see the word 'Szeged'. I was like... *reading reading...wait. what?* Anyway, sorry if I sounded straightforward or something, I'm too tired to notice it right now OTL
