Deserves a thought

When idol characters die, do people really cry because of the loss they feel for the characters? Or are they just sad because an idol died? I mean, if you try to read fics with character deaths and it's not your bias, will you be crying tears? Or are they just sad about death itself?

I personally have read fics with character deaths and didn't shed a tear when others did. So maybe the problem here is me? Or their fics? Or the people?

Neither do I cry nor do I feel sad. I'm not heartless, but it needs really much to get me emotional with a character in a fictional story, even though the character is a living person.

I don't cry, I feel sad; and it's for the character more than anything. If the character dies after suffering, it isn't the same feel as that character who dies because of an accident. But, of course, I'll get sadder if the character that dies is a bias of mine rather than just a normal character. It depends pretty much on each person, actually. Also, the view they have over their bias or life. People who have had a harsh life tend to be sadder for the character rather than the bias.
