BACKUP LOVE INTERESTS - Kim Joonmyun / Oh Sehun
 

PERSONALITY - With his stiff, condescending demeanour, one could easily mistake Kris as your typical cold city guy— which he is and isn't at the same time, probably depending on how you approach him. Due to his status as captain ball, he has shaped himself to be stringent and stern, faithful to his beliefs of strict practice. Although his principles pay off in terms of skills in the court, his skills falls a little too short once he's outside the halls. Maybe it's because he spends so much time with his idiotic team mates inside the gymnasium but sometimes, he isn't used to not having any of them around. Although he thinks it's true that they were nothing but a band of marching chimpanzees (and sadly he's become a part of it), he wouldn't dare deny that they were not his comfort zone, along with the court and his basketball. One could argue in a heated debate that Kris takes life too seriously but he always reasons that a meticulous, uptight captain is accurately more normal in comparison to a bunch of chicken maniacs who craved for nothing but sweet potatoes and sleep all the time (anyone who's ever dared contending otherwise usually loses to his tangible arguement by this point). One would be completely astonished once they get past through his facade, discovering nothing but an innocent personality. In truth, Kris can be a very warm person. He's accepting, understanding, and compassionate. He's a devoted person, someone who you can rely on whenever you need him to be there and like a true leader, he's confident, encouraging, and dependable. Easily distracted and a bit gullible, this guy has no sense od direction and absolutely no sense of time.

Surprisingly, he's very fluent in the language sarcasm, without even realizing it. He doesn't notice it but he can be very straight forward and demanding, maybe due to the fact that he's so used to bossing around his team. He can be very indecisive and to some extent, stubborn and impatient. With his fiery attitude, it doesn't usually take long for Kris to snap in anger. It's usually Tao and Derpyeol who provokes him, sometimes Sehun and Luhan being the twin popsicle brats they were. However, his anger is usually short lived and any argument you had with him yesterday usually won't arise today (unless you insist on talking about it). He's not the type to hold grudges and never bothered when it came to physical fights. Although he was sure he was more than capable to throw punches around, he didn't like the idea of having to go down to a level like that. Naturally curious, he asks many questions and will keep on asking questions until he gets answers. One of the things he isn't very good at is expressing his feelings; however, those close to him will surely notice the change in his aura once he is happy, as he smiles more often, loosens his stiff broad shoulders, and actually participates in the group's jokes and games such as yaja time and more.

Kris admits the fact that he lacks a little bit of spontaneity in his life (this is where Bona comes in). However, it doesn't mean that he's a close-minded person. In terms of romance, although he has his fair share of ex-girlfriends, blind dates, and dates that blew him out of his mind but did not run after them, he doesn't really consider himself a romantic. Since he isn't too good in expressing with words, he expresses with actions and tries to show how much he cares through simple things such as waiting, accepting, and listening. Although he's no sweet voice machine like ladies man Kim Jongin, he never forgets to open the door for her, assists her when she's in need of help, and stays with her whenever she feels like lazying it up around. He considers himself protective, a little possessive, and someone who can tame anyone under his watch. Even though he's no match to the rest of the guys when it comes to love, he still believes he has what plenty traits essential in providing for his girlfriend, if ever he does find one (*cough*Bona*cough*).  
 

RELATIONSHIP - 

— HIS SIDE OF THE STORY: It was probably the first time Kris met Bona, without even realizing it. He was a sophomore at that time and so was she. During the end of the season game for football season, one of the cheerleaders injured herself pretty bad with a wrong land that caused her to sprain her ankle pretty bad. The crowd gasped as they watched the flyer take the fall but their attention soon turned to the player who won the game. Kris though, who sat with the rest of his team mates at the back of the bleachers, couldn't help but watch as the paramedics rushed to her side. As his friends cheered the university's victory, he couldn't help but notice her and watch as she gets assistance out of the stadium. A couple of days later while the cheering squad practiced inside the gymnasium for their half time cheer on the opening basketball game, he found himself taken aback as the same injured cheerleader entered with the help of Sehun and Joonmyun. When he later asked Sehun how she was acquainted to him, he answered with a yes since the two had prerequisite subjects together during their freshmen year. Since he felt it was not necessary to know her name, he didn't bother asking. It wasn't until Joonmyun began talking about the "injured cheerleader" that he caught her nickname 'Boong'. When he asked who Boong was, Sehun answered, "The captain of the cheersquad, Ahn Bona. Did you not know her name?" It was not a year later when they were officially introduced to one another.

— HER SIDE OF THE STORY: Ever since she became cheer captain during the start of her junior year, she was adviced by the basketball team's manager, Joonmyun, to have the whole team memorized by heart. "Since you'll be time from the gym, I think it's important that you know who the team cap is, just in case there's ever a conflict with schedule". Like that, she was introduced to Wu Yifan, or otherwise known as Kris. Although a decent self introduction, he had not smiled and she thought maybe it was because first introductions shouldn't really be done during practice, where they were both sweaty and tired. Bona couldn't help but notice him during practices and games, where he always looked at ease and comfortable, but outside the court he remained stiff and nonchalant. She found herself watching him during the tryouts and practices, slowly starting to find the way he played attractive. Before the first game of the season started, Sehun had been teasing Bona, asking her if she was going to keep a close eye on someone that night. When she answered playfully with Kris' name, she was not expecting it to circulate around the team quickly like fire. During that night's name, Kris shot the winning score and was endlessly teased that he gained the confidence to win the game because Bona was watching. It wasn't until later during the victory party at Joonmyun's where they found themselves forced inside a closet during a game of 7 minutes in heaven. While Bona didn't mind that they were being teased together and found it funny, he obviously did with the way he sat awkwardly on the other end of the closet. However, she chose to talk through out the whole thing, about the game and how he did really well. Before their time was up, she confessed, "I like the way you play. Your aura is different inside the court so maybe you should try smiling more whenever you walk around the hallway"

— THE BEGINNING: After the closet incident, Kris was pestered beyond anyone could imagine, on how he finally found himself a match. He didn't want to seem as if he was making a big deal out of it but after that, Bona began to appear everywhere. In the hallways, during lunch period, during breaks, and during practices. What made it worse what how she actually waved, smiled, and said hello to him. Maybe it was because of her straightforwardness but Kris wanted to desperately avoid her, in hopes of lessening his chances of awkward encounters. He was never good in socializing with others other than his team mates so what more would he do to a pretty cheerleader who seemed to have developed a crush on him? But that didn't mean he made no effort. He did try to smile, he really did, but somehow his lips wouldn't just curl up no matter what. It was during homecoming week where the rest of the guys began to get dates and he was the only one left who hasn't asked anyone yet. He did keep an eye on the lively Bona and he was well aware of the guys who wanted to take her to the dance. The morning of the homecoming game dawned quickly and Sehun approached him and said, "You know, alot of guys are asking Bona to the dance." He taunted him. Kris shot him a look but he continued anyways. "I bet if it was you who asked her, she'd say yes". After his team began to gather, minutes prior to the game mind you, he somehow found himself alone in the hallway with Bona, asking him stiffly and awkwardly if she wanted to go to the homecoming dance that night with him. He wasn't expecting her to say yes and neither was he expecting her to squeal it out as she threw her arms around him (strangely, he actually liked the feeling of her hug and the awapuhi ginger scent of her hair).

— AND SO THE STORY BEGINS: Realizing that he actually liked being with Bona, he began to spend less time with his idiotic team mates after school and spent more time around her. He was glad that she almost never stopped talking, since this distracted him from thinking of what he has to say. Kris' idea of 'fun' after school and after practice had always been the court and nothing but the court but after he begins spending time with Bona, he finds himself driving alot with her sitting in the front seat, yapping away as they both figure out which street to turn to. Most of the times, they wouldn't even get to where they want to go since they both have no sense of direction but would always end up somewhere like a coffee shop, a park, a mall 55 minutes away from where they both live, or the beach. During this getting to know phase, there was no skinship, no pda, and no texting lovey dovey shiznit. But the rest of the team didn't have to see Bona and Kris hugging each other in the hallways or holding hands during practices to know it was going well. For one, he was doing a lot better during their games (lucky bastard even gets his own personal cheerleader) and compared to the usual stiff demeanor he usually had, he was now nothing but smiles and childish blushes whenever the boys would inform him that 'David' had come for her 'Goliath'.

— ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ : With his strong facial features and the scowl that's painted in his face all the time, Bona feels it's a fresh of breath air whenever Kris actually smiles down at her, reminding her that there is more to the basketball player she has watched over in the court. When asked what she likes about him, she can confidently answer "the way he plays basketball" (which usually leaves Kris flustered). He won't ever admit out loud but he finds it cute how he calls his real name 'Yifan' and the sound of her voice when she says it out loud. Even though neither of them has asked each other if they're actually dating or not (really, it's just Bona waiting for Kris to ask her), Kris likes the way she struts around the hallway wearing his jersey and basketball shirt, flaunting to everyone his number and surname. He likes the way she cheers his name during games and likes it better every time she praises him after the games. He doesn't really know why he won't ask her yet to be his girlfriend when it's already clear that the feeling is both mutual. However, there's a specific reason why he isn't asking her yet, a reason she has to wait for.

how did you stumble upon this hell heaven? - It was one of the first places I learned my way to by heart (along with the football stadium since it would be the two places I'd be spending most of my time with). The first time I went there was during a basketball game of the graduating seniors, the very last home game of the season. Of course they had won, making me feel proud of my university's varsity team. They were the university's pride and to say these guys weren't skilled enough to make into the league would be a total understaement.

who do you get along best with? - It was always Sehun whom I was closest to; that little bratinello was always so full of himself and his team and had nothing else to talk about except for their practices, how Tao cared about nothing 'cept sleep and how he was the best looking guy in the team (pfft, as if). Joonmyun is a good oppa who's generous with the time we can spend in the gymnasium as well. Even though it's technically theirs, I'm glad the team has a good manager whom I can converse easily. Besides, I don't mind him occasionally treating us cheerleaders with cans of strawberry milk.

who do you not get along with? - I usually get along with everyone. Whatever floats my boat. However, I don't get along much with those who are short tempered and neither do I like people who have a superiority complex (well, Sehun and Luhan both kind of has this but it's okay since they're guys). I don't like it when people always prove me wrong and usually, if you're on my bad side, you'll be judged forever and ever for the rest of your existance in my life. Something I really dislike people doing are gossiping, especially those who seems to do nothing but gossip. Have they not noticed that there is something called sun and it is out for almost half of their everyday 24 hour clock body clock?

what is basketball to you? -  Although I never learned how to play basketball (odd since I've been cheering for it for most of my life), I never took the time to learn it unlike what I did for football. However, to say it didn't have an impact in my life would be a total lie. Somehow, I found myself hooked to the games and sometime throughout highschool, I became a fan of watching NBA. But I gotta say, nothing beats the fun in watching our very own basketball team, especially since Kris is in it (huehue)

SCENE REQUESTS -

— THE MAIN EVENT ♥: When people find out Kris' main reason as to why he hasn't asked Bona to be his girl friend yet (well, he only tells the boys anyways), they just end up smiling at him smugly, accusing him of being a 'sly loverboy'. The basketball season had been long over and it has been a while since the two have entered their mutual phase. Kris knows she's waiting for it and honestly, he was too. But it's been her taking the initiative all this time and he wanted the day she becomes his girlfriend to be special and memorable. Valentines was just around the corner and ironically, Bona is born during Cupid's day, Valentines. Instead of asking her to skip class like the other guys were planning to do, he had plans on surprising her on his own (of course with the help of Yehet boy who only stayed momentarily, whining about how he shouldn't be in school so early. Bona's first class was Media in Art of South Korea (I was thinking of having her classmates with the other girls in this class), a class where she usually gets asked by others when "Goliath" would stop by (since he usually stopped by the classroom after the period so they could go to their next class together (of course the girls would be the one teasing her otl). Before anyone can even make it to the classroom, Kris had set up her desk (thank Buddha the professor liked seating arrangements) and placed  a life size teddy bear on her seat. There was a bouquet of red roses in her desk, a couple of those Kit kats and Cookies & Cream chocolates she liked, and a small white card. He had wanted to give her one of his Picasso like (more like trash like)  hand drawn cards but Sehun opted strongly against it, claiming she might even say no once she sees his not so artistic skills in drawing. She was wondering what was the commotion about when she entered the classroom and she was even more curious since her friends (other chosen characters) had swarmed up and gathered around their seat. When she realized what was on her desk, she couldn't help but laugh in emberassment and pleasure. The first thing that processed through her mind was the fact that the bear was bigger than her and had it not been for her friends insisting she reads her card outloud, she would have forgotten she was in school. She picked up the card feeling alreadyy giddy, knowing exactly who was behind this. She read the card and laughed afterwards. From today, you are mine. PS, starting today, you are not allowed to wear a skirt unless you're with me, araso?! (I got the idea from this picture. Hopefully, you guys got my idea lol)
— During one of their earlier encounters sometime during sophomore year (Bona didn't know him yet), he saw that she had been freezing during the football games (It was the peak season of fall, almost going to winter and temperatures were beginning to drop). He tapped Sehun and shoved his hot packs in his hands, summoning him to give it to his friend, Bona. Bona later on finds this out from Kris.

COMMENTS + SUGGESTIONS - odg is cheerleader creative enough? it was the first thing i thought of when i read #2 on the cheatsheet and being a cheerleader when i was in highschool, i remember practicing sometimes while our school team practiced and sometimes even watching them mock games. orz, idk i think i made my character too mainstream ;;;; also, im sorry if i made the relationship so damn long i just-- I GOT CARRIED AWAY I AM GUILTY HUL T^T i know you guys said dont make it uber duper long but my feels for this story, my damn feels just exploded on this application form /creys
