How do you introduce your friends to DBSK? I mean, everyone loves to spread the love of DBSK right? I love to spread DBSK songs wherever I go. I love to spread news of them, but how do we do it in such a way that it doesn't seem annoying to our friends? Here are just some tips from me, HAHAHA. For now, I have successfully converted one of my anime-die hard fans into a Cassie and in the midst of converting another one. It really helps that DBSK has such good reputation in Japan. Heehee. :)

Anyway, tips ahead.

1. Never ever force your friends to admit DBSK is good/are the best/are demi gods/are so hot they make your nose bleed till you get anemia etc.

You can't expect someone's opinion to change overnight. They need time to accept DBSK, just like you need time to accept someone new in your life. Don't be disheartened if they reject your attempts to introduce Dong Bang to them. Don't give up. It'll get to them eventually. Haha. DONG BANG SHIN KI IS TOO HOT TO BE REJECTED.

Just like my friend Michelle, for example, 2 years ago, I blasted Rising Sun in the room with her and a few of my other friends and she hated it so bad she told me in my face that DBSK . I don't care. I told her that she could choose not to listen to it by simply walking out of the room. I wouldn't stop her. She didn't. 2 years later, she's one of the Cassie friends I know are truly loyal to DBSK. See the power of DBSK here? :)

2. Give your friends time and DO NOT spazz about Dong Bang all the time 

I'm not saying it's bad to spazz about Dong Bang Shin Ki. I'm saying it's bad if you let that consume you every waking hour of your life. I've learned from my experiences. I used to do it all the time. Guess what? My friends got so irritated with me they began hating DBSK too. Rationally, they know it's not DBSK's fault but in their hearts, they formed a negative connoction about DBSK, and it's all because of me. So fellow Cassies, control your fangirl hearts okay?

3. Try to relate DBSK's quirky habits to your real life

Yes, I know. The heading sounds confusing. It is confusing to me as well. HAHA. Anyway, here's what I mean. Two years ago, I had this conversation with my friend. It's not exactly accurate since I have the memory of a goldfish but here are the rough details:

Me: *sighs* Sometimes I think I really sleep like a pig.

Friend: Yes you do. You're practically impossible.

Me: Hey! At least I don't have the worst sleeping habits in the world. I can never beat Yunho hahahaha.

Friend: Yunho? Isn't it your bias from that Korean boy band you're obsessing over?

Me: Yeah. Do you know how he sleeps? He sleeps with his mouth open, his eyes open, it's like every pore of his body is opened!! *demonstrates actual face*

Friend: Wow! Is that even possible?

Me: Yes, only possibly done by Jung Yunho. It's so embarrassing. One time they were flying on the plane to their concert venue or something I can't remember and Yunho was sitting next to a fangirl. Of course, he tried to maintain his image by closing his mouth shut.

Friend: But he wasn't successful?

Me: No. Jaejoong had to use a towel to cover his face up. That's why I ship YunJae so hard, girl. THEY ARE PERFECT TOGETHER!

Friend: *proceeds to ignore my fangirling self*

Yups, so that's how you add Dong Bang to your regular conversation. Because of this, all my friends practically know Yunho's sleeping habits, Changmin's sleep talking, Junsu's infamous OMG sun, Yoochun's wide forehead and Jaejoong's weird habits. (like taking photos of his fellow members taking a dump)

It may not necessarily be the good things I share about DBSK with them. It might be the little snippets of humour and unglam moments that I share with them, but I feel that makes DBSK more relatable to them and they are more inclined to accept them as someone to love. :) I even have one of my friends telling me her bias in DBSK is Changmin because of his snark humour and sarcastic comments. :)

4. Let them listen to songs you know they will like

Pick a genre you know they will love. If they're an anime fan, let them listen to Butterfly by Jaejoong, We Are and Asu wa Kuru Kara by TVXQ, we know they all appeal to the anime fans out there. If they love ballads, let them hear Love In The Ice, Bolero, all the classic Tohoshinki's songs. If they love much happier and cheerful songs, let them hear Hiyaya, Balloons or even Summer Dream.

You know what kind of songs your friends love best. Play that to your best advantage and use it! :) I'm still working on this with my friends. I'm fairly sure they'll get hooked sooner or later. :)

5. Share the love of DBSK with them

Tell them, teach them, share with them how DBSK members interact with one another. Be it JYJ, be it HoMin, always make sure you share those little humour and laughter you know they will be interested in. My friend for example, the one whose bias is Changmin, loves hearing about Changmin being the evil maknae and terrorising everyone in general. Although she doesn't really agree with me about YunJae being gay, she understands that it's my opinion and respects that, which brings me to my next point...

6. Ignore haters, don't fall into their trap

If someone responds negatively about DBSK when you're trying to introduce DBSK to them, well, just ignore them. Don't bother arguing with them about how good your idols are as compared to theirs etc. You're not changing their opinions and are in fact making the situation worse. How many times have we hated the idols just because of the way their fans act? I don't know about you but I'm sure if EXO could speak to some of their fans right now, they'll ask them to be a tad more respectful to their sunbaes and their accomplishments. (I'm not saying all EXO fans are bad, I'm naming certain overbearing ones that just can not shut up about when is EXO gonna release Mirotic etc.)

Remember, we are a walking image of DBSK. If people show hate to us, show love back. That's the only way we can change their minds. It's the only chance they'll take a second glance at us. Don't hurry things up. Let them take their time and remember, always spread the Dong Bang love. :)
