Personality : Soojong has that kind of appearance that may seem detached and shy to others; most people are tend to think he’s exceptional at suppressing his feelings at first sight and may find it somewhat cute that he is – to their beliefs – a bit shy. But don’t be fooled; beneath his innocent exterior lies an indifferent, cold human being who cares about only a limited list of people that does not even include his own father nor himself. Because he doesn't show interest in a lot of things, people often mistake him for being self-centered, but he is far from that. Deep down at the back of his heart he really cares about the people closest to him – he also feels a little too responsible for their safety and health – and he even tends to overdo that at times, pushing them to stop doing what they're doing with pedantic twabble about why it's wrong or not healthy even though he doesn't know a damn thing about the subject he's talking about. He gets into arguments a lot because of that, being called wiseacre in almost all of them – that may be a little true, though. But he has no bad intentions. Towards the majority of people whom Soojong doesn't care the slightest bit about, he may act rather rigid and calm; he won't talk a lot and answer curtly to the questions asked in conversations and has literally no expression on his face. Background : Soojong was born in Busan, South Korea on the 27th of December 1994 as the second son of a rich business man – his mother died of extreme blood loss right after his birth. Because his father didn't see a reason to stay in South Korea anymore – they had only stayed there because his wife couldn't miss her family – Soojong, his father and older brother moved overseas to California so his father could continue his job from the office there instead. At the time, Soojong was four years old. The first few months Soojong had spoken in English with a Korean accent, which luckily faded away when he began to go to school. He got an English name, Jonah, as well so he wouldn't have to explain people how to pronounce his name right anymore. The following years were quite ordinary – all about school, friends, other stuff like that – but things started to change when he was twelve years old. His three years older brother with whom he was closer than with any of his friends died due to the injuries he got in a car accident. Soo Jong's personality went through a huge change; instead of being that witty, optimistic boy, he became cold and indifferent. He didn't want anyone to see the side only his brother had known; it would forever be exclusive to him, dead or alive. His father viewed him as insane and took him to different psychologists, although Soojong denied it time after time. Eventually his friends left him. Everything just got worse when his best friend left to South Korea to pursue his dream to become a singer. He was lonely again, stayed at home all day if he didn't have school and he hardly studied. His only interests were singing, rapping and basketball.
When he was fifteen years old, Soojong got scouted by JYP's scouting agents when he was on a holiday in South Korea to see his family. As he was scouted by his looks, his father didn't believe he would pass the audition but gave him permission anyway. To his surprise, his son actually did pass.
In his three years of training, Soojong had to learn how to dance as he had never done that before. He turned out to be alright at dancing; nor the best nor the worst. His dancing skills still have to be improved, though. He also forgot to attend practice a lot. He still does.

How they met : Taehyung introduced them to each other when Soojong was watching and supporting them backstage at their debut. Out of all other members besides Taehyung, Yoongi was the only person who wasn't annoyed by Soojong's personality and so they became friends from time to time.
How they act around each other : In general Soojong and Yoongi act the same as all friends do around each other: laughing, talking and having fun. Yoongi is the only person to have seen Soojong cry; despite being friends for a few months they are really close. Yoongi is the only one Soojong dares to show his emotions to, and Yoongi tends to be really protective and caring about Soojong. He just wants him to be happy.
