Cancellation of KMW.

This is probably the saddest blog post that I have ever made. I'm not really in the right state of mind right now, for I still can't fathom what I have just seen on the offical Facebook page, the organizer of Korean Music Wave in Singapore has just announced that KMWinSg has been cancelled. Yes, this devastating news has to be brought up just 10 days before its actual day. I am totally dismayed and appalled by how Fatfish (the organizer of KMW) handled this issue with such a nonchalance and ignorant reply by simply stating on their facebook page that the event has been cancelled. It disgusts me more that the anticipation fans got has simply vanished into thin air, just because of a silly mistake that Fatfish made with MBC. On the annoucment, it is stated that MBC and Fatfish encountered some contractual issue, which explains why the event was brought down. It is absolutely horrible. How can such a big (as it claims) company like Fatfish done something so horrifying and irresponsible?

In case some of you are wondering, yes, I'm attending this event. And I was supposed to be seated on the Platinum, which costs SGD$268 per ticket. I did not purchase the ticket by myself, both my friend and I participated in a massive giveaway organized by some Singapore company and we managed to win the ticket, with great feat of course. We went around begging our friends to like the comment and the facebook page of the company so that we can emerge victorious. There was only one winner for that giveaway and the prize was a pair of Platinum KMW tickets. That period was pathetically slow and tortorous. Imagine asking and begging your friends to like the comment so that the amount of likes could increase, since the winner was determined by the most amount of likes. Both of us worked tirelessly for two weeks, and we managed to gain victory by having 820 likes. It's crazy I know. But this just shows how much we wanted to see EXO. For once we thought, we could finally see EXO performing in front of us. I had never seen any idols in concerts before, because I could never bear myself to buy a ticket. However, I thought, if EXO has a solo concert in Singapore, I would. Yet, KMW is not a solo concert for EXO so the desire of me going was not very strong. And here came the giveaway, which gives both of us a chance to see my favorite idols.

Then this ing has to happen. In my wildest imagination, I have never imagined Fatfish to be such irresponsible organizer that would cancel the concert just 10 ING DAYS. Have they truly thought of the feelings of fans? I afraid not. I knew one thing for certain, Fatfish is only concerned about earning big bucks from those pitiful fans, who only had a dream: To see their idols performing. The news came in as a shock, for a good five minutes, I could not fathom what just happened. I scrolled through the entire list of comments, they are all hates from outraged fans. I too, was appalled by this news. I sat there, with tears almost welling down my eyes. I tried to maintain my composure but this is simply too hard for me to swallow. After all the hard work that my friend and I have done, you're telling me that the event is cancelled simply because of your mistakes? It's unfair. Totally unfair.

I knew that something was amiss the moment I saw the huge amount of KMW giveaway from all sort of different companies. Many were organizing contests to give FREE tickets. At that moment, I reckoned that KMW is probably not selling well and that they are giving out free tickets to sponsors as a means of paying them the monetary materials that they could not afford. However, it has never crossed my mind that this ing event will be cancelled.

1. Responsibility

Fatfish should have known the consquences of holding such a big event. KMW in Singapore consists of many idols joining in as a concert, hence gaining the name: The first largest kpop concert in Singapore. Fatfish should be fully aware of the planning and massive decision planning. They should know that planning such a large scale event isn't an easy task, and they should be clearer than anyone to identify their strengths and capabilities. Have they known all these, they would not have the audicity to create such a large scale event. Yet, the only thing that held them was the huge amount of money that could be earned. Since KMW is such a prestiguous event, Fatfish reckons that they could earn big bucks out of it, they are out to squeeze all the money from fans. We are more than willing to pay, as long as we get to see our idols. Yet, they have went overboard this time round. They simply cancelled this event. And the likelihood of them eating up all the money earned through tickets-selling would probably be true.

2. Fans.

Fatfish has no idea how much this concert means to fans. Everyone was so excited and hyped up for this concert. Many international fans from China, Indonesia and Malaysia have specially bought their plane tickets to Singapore so that they too could be included into this event. Many of them are either teens or working adults. Imagine the chore they have to go through just to see their idols, taking leaves, escaping from school etc. What more, the plane tickets are not delightfully cheap, they cost a bomb too. How the are they supposed to react now that they can no longer see their idols in Singapore. Moving on, there are many Singaporean fans who were equally excited and have spent a long time preparing for this event. We have prepared food support, but it was unfortuanately cancelled by Fatfish again. The initial cancellation of food support was already devastating enough for us, given the fact that we have taken months to raise fund and meticulously plan the food content for idols to ensure that they enjoy our local food. Yet, we maintained our composure. Forget and forgive. We did that. For the sake of our idols, we swallowed our anger. As long as we can still see our idols performing, having food support or not does not really matter to us.

3. Personal destruction

I have spent weeks deciding on what outfit to wear on that day, whether if I should sneak in cameras, what led fanboard should i make if i have decided to make one, how much money should I bring that so that it is sufficient to buy all exo merchandises, whether staying overnight would be a good choice. The list was endless. I have a hard time deciding on all these, for KMW means so much to me, I certainly want the best out of it. Yet, this news just have to come and destory every part of me.

There are so much more I would want to say about it. But I can no longer hold my anger. It's not pleasant to express my anger through AFF. For your information, what I have just stated are merely accounts that I myself have gone through. If you are at the very least, offtended by my views, I honestly cannot be bothered much about it. It is MY opinion not yours. So do respect it. I'm not completely sober to be talking about this right now, so let just end this post as of how it should.

I feel you man.
What the hell I actually BOUGHT tickets using my own money and this was going to be my first concert and . I was so happy about seeing EXO,B.AP and my other favourites and some fandom already had things planned (I read something about a birthday celebration for a Teen Top member) now everybody's efforts are going down the drain.
If I didn't have the money, I was willing to enter lucky draws and for this. Such a disappointment.

They released a statement and are considering ways on how to refund the tickets

Oh my. That's awful. Isn't there anything that could be done? Will they refund the tickets? Tsk. That company should be sued. Hmp. Anyway, I know you are feeling very low at the moment but I hope for your swift recovery. Moving on from such a great disappointment will take a lot of optimism. I haven't been on any concert as well. And I would love to see even just one.
