❀ Outside

ulzzang: Sin Bi
backup ulzzang: Kim Jayoung
appearance:
height: 172 cm
weight: 49 kg

style: Her fashion is chic and cute, edgy but girly. It has to have a balance between both. Feminine, but sharp and elegant. Prim and conservative. Whether she be wearing a dress or pants. It's all about the quality of clothing she picks.  If she goes shopping, she looks for rare pieces that are simple but has it's own distinct style that does not quite make her stand out but separate her from the usual. It doesn't matter if they are branded or not as long as she doesn't find it worn on anybody else's. She also makes sure she only owns decent clothes even at home; she doesn't like looking haggard and worn. A unique graphic shirt plus pants or shorts will suffice and that way, it looks like she tries but she doesn't. She loves to mix-and-match (eg. leather + lace). Her wardrobe is filled with the basic clothing staples but she makes sure she has every color of her fancy and every texture of every kind eg) a black knitted cardigan vs. a maroon silk cardigan. She has quite a for pleather skirts, collared button-downs, oversized crewnecks/sweaters, fedora hats and girlish snapbacks, and for shoes, deandris and mary jane heels. What she wears for a certain day depends mainly on convenience and type of occassion.

extra: Ji Sun dyes her hair reddish brown once a year. She doesn't have to use bleach though since she just wants to enhance the natural brown color of her hair. She likes to wear them straight most of the time. If she feels like it, she will put them in a standard bun, ponytail or side-braid and nothing fancy that will take her a lot of time than she already does getting ready. For their debut, they dye her hair a jet-black color to give her a more mature look.

❀ Inside

character traits: spontaneous, submissive, calculative, methodical, strong-willed

personality: Jisun is good at meeting new people and making new friends. She is somebody you can be close with instantly but also somebody who takes time her time on trusting people. She believes in a slow-building relationship and gradual opening-up that can only be achieved through time.  Being from the small province of Jeju-do, all her friends she has known ever since she was young and basically all her life. Expressing herself around them is easy-- she can laugh as crazily as she wants-- because of the familiar comfortability. Moving to Seoul was a challenge for her because she has to get used to the city life and working with new set of people. Things are more unexpected and so, everything seems foreign to her. Making friends is still easy, however, she will take what she thinks is the appropriate length of time to understand and be comfortable with the person until she becomes ready to disclose her thoughts. Consequently, she just tries to be honest to her own self but would rather keep her feelings rather than bluntly expressing them. She values her alone-time greatly and works best that way.

For other people she can be a little eccentric in a way; she is either always laughing or really quiet. Reserved is not quite the word to describe her although, many have had that as their first impression. She is reserved, more on with her words rather than of actions but then accordingly, her limited words also limits the expression of her actions. But one thing she will definitely not hold back is her happiness. If she's happy, she's happy. She will laugh if she wants to laugh. Nothing can hide that. That's why some people would think she got her all figured out; she's always cheerful and she is never lonely or depressed which is not always the case. Her cheerful side makes her very approachable. If she's not happy, it will be hard to decipher what she's feeling.  She will be quiet and will never speak a word unless you ask her something and talk to her first, or when she becomes curious and needs to ask a question herself. When she's not laughing, they'll say she looks too serious, stern, deadpan and hostile. There are also some people who gets accustomed with her bright appearance first that when they suddenly discover this unusual side of her, will deem her as "mysterious" and "scary." The thought of being away from her life-long friends and family in Jeju-do eventually makes her homesick and she herself finds that she laughs less. It is the main reason why her quiet side became more prominent. Of course, all of this changes after getting in Violet Stars and spends a great deal of time with the girls.

Jisun would rather listen to other's problems than tell hers. She loves giving advices to people that are based on secondhand experience but when it comes to her own personal conflicts, she never quite understands them which frustrates her at times. As a result, she lacks in the art of decision-making. She is constantly bombarded with dilemmas and constantly thinks about them all day-all night no matter how small they are. And so, she relies on what others would think about and would often seek their reasoning and judgment instead (without having to explain her story of course). She ends up submitting to their decisions as long she finds them human and harmless.

To make up for her, as she calls them "weaknesses," she gets stuff in her head organized. In order to reduce the things that takes her time to think, she plans what she does ahead of time, usually at night to prepare for the day of tomorrow's agenda. She gives her daily chores their own time and makes it a habit. She makes sure they get done because if not, she gets real antsy.

She might seem like a perfectionist but she is not. Jisun is not afraid to try something new. She is not afraid of failure either for if she wants something, she works hard on it until she achieves it. She is not the most creative nor artistic person in the world but her passion for something can be incredible and she would go all out for something that she really loves. Heck, since she loves singing so much, if she was given an opportunity to be an opera singer, she'll gladly try to do it.

❀ Biography

background: As a kid, Jisun's hobby and source of joy was sitting beside her mom on the bench and listening to her play the piano. Ever since, she has always begged her mom to teach her only suddenly, her mom's health began to deteriorate and was hospitalized for years. The thought of playing piano left her mind as her concern for her mother occupied it. But because she also loved singing, she joined numerous singing affilliations instead as much as she can: school choir, outside-of-school singing competitions, her church's music ministry, and even clubs that involved acting such as school musicals, improvs, and church plays. She was very active that she was invited to sing in weddings, town festivals, and the like. Basically, singing became her job and her life. Just like that, she became well-known in her province much like a celebrity and have gained fans for herself. Her popularity was used to gain more tourists, donate for charity, and even run campaigns. Not too long after, at the age of 17, her mother passed away because of heart failure. This was obviously a big overturn in her life and it made her reflect on her future. She decided to leave Jeju-do-- much to the disppointment of her townspeople-- to attend medical school in Seoul but decided to dropp midway after committing on becoming an trainee in SM.

family: Jisun is the only child of the family. Her mother has always been her subject of admiration and her role model; she was like the light -who brightens up the mood- of the household and key -who answers and solves every worry Jisun has. Losing her made her feel lost in life as well. She did not allow herself to wallow in depression for too long even so. Her mom and her dad has always supported her dreams and that's what kept her going. Her dad stayed strong for her and served as her wall during that time and even until now whenever she's feeling down. He's the only one who can read her no matter how much she hides and she too, knows this and for that she's grateful to have somebody who understands her better than anybody else. She lives with the thought of making her dad's life better and more comfortable.

❀ Idol

stage name: Jisun
stage persona: provincial pride
soundalike: Tori Kelly

singing: 9
rapping: 4
dancing: 7

stage personality: Jisun loves being on stage and is confident standing on it. Perhaps because of the countless experiences she had performing on different kinds of stages. But up there, she is free to express herself through singing and dancing; it's easier than talking. Their fans are all her friends and she gets her energy from their cheers; thus, she is also the one who gives a lot of fanservices.

trainee history: An SM scout heard about her popularity in Jeju-do and from learning that she moved to Seoul, tried to bring her in the company but she refused. Her passion for singing never left her for after some time of thought, she went ahead and auditioned herself just for the sake of getting a shot at it and successfully gets accepted in the first try. SM originally wanted her to debut as an actress with her experience; hence, although still a trainee, she was casted in musicals with roles varying from supporting lead to an extra. This went on for 2 years. When the company pronounced a formation of a new girl group, Jisun became its member with her agreeing to allow herself to step in the new world of being an idol and SM seeing it as a bigger chance of making money.

Her trainee life was not any different or less difficult than the others aside from the fact that she was "busier" compared to them. After getting in Violet Stars, she had more time for herself to keep up with training especially with dancing; she had some experience but no background with techniques and style. For 2 more years she practiced singing and improved her dancing. It was stressful but she loved doing it. She would always remember these words, "The body is tired but the mind is happy." Her popularity in Jeju came all the way to the training rooms of SM. She would always hear one or a couple every day mentioning her name. Not everything said about her though was good; jealousy among trainees is not new and an inescapable thing. She has encountered that much back home at least but she's surprised to how people would go far and be desperate just for making a name for themselves and reaching fame. Their definition of passion varies greatly from her own. Still, It wasn't hard to make friends with other trainess and meet new people here and there but often times she would get really homesick and often worry about her father.

idol friends:

✏ park, chanyeol | exo | very friendly, obnoxious, trustworthy, straightforward | 4 | violet stars & exo collab. they always get partnered up, be it in a performance stage or a cf (kind of like yuri & minho), because they are both remarkably tall when compared to members of their respective groups. they are very compatible when working inevitably causing most fans to ship the two together. jisun found it easy to adjust to chanyeol's open personality and so the first time they met, they just "clicked". their encounters always consist of laughter and amusement of trivial things but both shy away from more significant, touchy matters.
✏  lee, jinki | shinee | bouyant, frivolous, courteous, helpful | 3 | co-actors in a musical
✏  hwang, tiffany | snsd | demure, kind, diligent, smart | 3 | co-actors in a musical

❀ Love

love interest: byun baekhyun
backup: kim jongdae

personality: Baekhyun is a humorous, cheeky, fun-loving guy that enjoys goofing around with s. He is very frank and outspoken and also very persistent. He loves the attention when given and makes use of it to lighten up the atmosphere or as an idol, attract more fans. Despite this bright character, he is also kind and thoughtful: a serious side that always looks out and cares for the people he loves. He displays great profesionalism onstage as seen with his charismatic but also playful and almost aloof image, and silvery voice that never mistakes to deliver the message and emotion of the song he's singing.

backstory: Baekhyun and Jisun both entered the company at the same time. Their first encounter was when they were walking to Lee Sooman's office together with the newly accepted trainees. Baekhyun happened to walk alongside Jisun when she thoughtlessly remarks "Oh, we're almost the same height!" to which Baekhyun had to suffer embarrassment from the merciless laughs of the other trainees. They never met henceafter because of busy preparations for exo's debut until the day came and she heard the group first perform Baby Don't Cry in a showcase and particularly fell in-love got impressed with Baekhyun's voice. When Violet Stars finally debuted, Baekhyun immediately recognized Jisun and remembered her silly remark back at Lee Sooman's office. As a welcoming approach, he pretended to hold a grudge about it to her as a joke. Jisun, despite knowing it was a joke, took it seriously because she felt bad and wanted to get away from another misunderstanding with Baekhyun-- the guy with the beautiful voice-- only to make one again on his part.

relationship status: The two never hit it off well at first. It wasn't exactly terrible, but they created an odd, uncomfortable ambience between them whenever they meet. exo and violet stars did not help from the constant teasing about a "lover's quarrel." Baekhyun thought she genuinely hated him judging from all the efforts she's doing in avoiding him (how ever futile that may be, belonging in the same company). Jisun claims she simply did not want to bump into him again as much as possible, reasoning out even to the extent that she was scared of his fans' comments and criticisms but deep inside, she knows it's because she was interested in him from the very start but aware that if she ever gets to know him better, she'll only be disappointed. Baekhyun on the other hand, wouldn't stop approaching her because he "wanted to get on her good side" and does everything for her to stop hating him to be able to build back his "marvelous reputation." His persistence prevails regardless over her submissive personality. He would bring her to random places everytime he "wins" and he would always surprisingly find the perfect times despite their busy schedule. As this goes on, Jisun slowly realizes, Baekhyun is not the Baekhyun she have always imagined: cocky and arrogant. Throughout their exhausting preamble, they learn so much about each other and their own selves; Jisun finds she has completely opened her heart to Baekhyun, who all along has been trying to win that heart. *sigh*

In other words...skinny love. ;P Dating whilst not knowing and unaware that they are doing exactly that. It looks like that in vs and exo's eyes anyways.

❀ Finale

scene suggestions:
Baekhyun meaning to teach Jisun how to play the piano but somehow ends up showing off his limited skills and makes a show of seducing her with it (refer to the episode of beatles code with exo)
✏ Jisun in the airport about to leave Jeju-do and loads of people came to say goodbye
✏ one day baekhyun personally went to visit violet stars' dorm just to give jisun something (a gift probably who knows i myself dek) and she was so happy she made a big commotion in their whole dorm-- screamed her lungs in the washroom, jumped on her bed, punched her pillows, hugged all her members, willingly washed the dishes...

comments: Although I never meant to, along the way I really happened to take this very seriously and so my feels got out of hand and now I have so many scenes in my head gaah! Writing about baek and jisun's relationship frustrated me dammit. It came out too cheesy when I wanted it to turn out funny huhu. And my name is also Nicole :)
