The Point of No Return

Personality: Jihae is a quiet, shy person in the public. Her face would turn red if she had to talk in front of class, and her voice would be inaudiable. She talked a lot at home, but really has no idea what makes her so shy outside. She's kind and patient, especially with children, and laughs a lot. She never shows it on the outside, but gets furstrated and angry easily. if she doesn't understand a math problem, she gets extremely furstrated. Has a lot of homework? Furstration. Mom keeps reminding her the same thing over and over again? Furstrated. She also holds a lot of grudges against people for the slightest things- which is why she isn't that close to a lot of people. She tends to over-estimate things and people. Is there a test tomorrow? Let's assume it's going to be super hard and she'll fail, so lets study until dawn. Jihae also cries a lot when she's alone; she's a total crybaby. She cries when she's furstrated, overworked, listening to sad songs, et. cetra. When she's outside, she doesn't cry at all; she doesn't want anyone's sympathy or anyone judging her. She smiles politely and continues with what she was doing. It's hard for her to express feelings sometimes, usually with feelings of love and anger. She has a hard time saying "I love you" even to her family, and hopes her family understands, and when she's angry, she refuses to talk unless it's really important. Surprisingly, she's rarely scared of anything. The only thing is the dark, but Jihae knows it's not really the dark she's scared of, but unknown things in the dark. Horror movies? She could watch those in the dead of the night without batting an eyelash. She turns dead silent and her senses become ten times as sharp to everything around her when she's really frightened, like the time she learned her grandfather was diagnosed with cancer. She keeps her head, but turns really pale and finds it hard to breathe.

History: Jihae was born in Busan, South Korea, and was raised there with her older brother by her parents and grandparents. She was (and still is) very close with her family, even though they did get into a lot of arguments, they always made up. Her family owned a small bussiness for fishing supplies, which did pretty well, because Busan is near the ocean, and a lot of people fish. Her family moved when she was about five, she and her family moved to Hongdae, because bussiness was supposed to be good there, and her father dreamed of becoming a baker. He was very successful there, and continues the job until this day. Her grandfather from her father's side was diagnosed with lung cancer when she was eleven, but it wasn't a huge surprise; he did smoke a lot. Jihae was very upset by it and withdrew further from social life for a while after her grandfather died. Her grandmother then from her father's side died of heart attack after two years, but Jihae handled it better than her grandfather's death. Jihae worked part-time at a convinence store from her first year of high school until her third, and now Jihae is currently at her last year of highschool, studying hard to get into Seoul University. She plans on getting a job as an elementary school teacher or psychologist, so she's working hard to achieve that now.
