background - Chaebin was an only child, doted on and her parents were completely devoted to her. She never wanted for anything and has a lot of memories of her doing fun things with her parents like going on mountain hikes and visiting Lotte World. Her childhood was definitely ideal, but being the child of her elementary school's vice principal definitely made those around her expect great things from her. She's not a naturally talented academic student, but she worked her off to bring home the best grades to keep her father's good reputation and because that's what people expected of her.

When she was 9, her life came to an abrupt hault. She came home from a friend's house to find paramedics leaving her apartment and her father a complete sobbing mess. He didn't say anything, he jsut scooped up Chaebin and put her in the car. They drove to the hospital and two hours later, they received word that the doctors couldn't save her mother. She died by hanging herself, losing a long battle with depression that the little girl never knew about. She was devastated, but slowly the grieving process gave way to the recovery process and Chaebin learned to cope with the absense of her mother.

In high school, Chaebin joined theatre club on a whim and fell in love with it. After performing in a few stage shows, she got her father's permission to pursue the idea of becoming an actress. She auditioned for Jellyfish Entertainment and was admitted, though her audition was poor, because she showed the potential and the coaches liked her.

personality - Chaebin is an outspoken nerd. She's very book smart, but her common sense when it comes to people and relationships is a little lacking. She's gullible, easily trusting, and quick to give someone a second chance even if they probably don't deserve it. Though her brain is definitely one of her best assets, she prefers listening to her heart no matter where it takes her (within reason).

Chaebin has a very motherly, nurturing air about her. She likes to be the group mom, making sure everyone's needs are being taken care of. She basically never wants to see another person sad after what happened to her mother. Her past has basically left her with a hero complex. She wants to save everyone, but taking on other's burdens definitely becomes extremely tiresome and stressful and it always gets to a point where she just snaps (hard) and gives up... then she'll apologize profusely and try again.

fashion style - She hates wearing heals and if she could wear one pattern for the rest of her life, it would probably be plaid (stripes are a close second). She likes baggy sweatshirts and jackets paired with skinny jeans and one of her gazillion pairs of sneakers. Instead of picking fancy clothes, she'll doll herself up with makeup instead.

family members -

`` mother | Kim Yooyeon | 34 (at death)/43 | legal scribe | 5| Yooyeon was Chaebin's best friend during her childhood and the two were mega close, but not close enough for Chaebin to notice how depressed her mother was until it was too late. Yooyeon committed suicide when Chaebin was 9 years old and it shook the poor girl terribly. To this day she gets really anxious whenever someone mentions being depressed.
`` father | Park Hyunshin | 45 | elementary school vice principal | 4 | Hyunshin is strong and resilient on the outside, but is a bit of a mess on the inside. Chaebin finds herself taking care of him a lot because once his work day is over he just seems to give up and retreat into himself (and into a bottle of soju). Time has not healed the wound of losing the love of his life; but he loves his daughter dearly and cherishes her very much so he always puts on a brave face for her. He doesn't stand in the way of her doing anything she wants... as long as she's finished her homework.

`` Bae Suji aka Suzy | idol [Miss A], actress | 4 | They haven't been on the same drama together, but sometimes their shows would record in the same studios. They both met each other between takes when they went to the studio cafeteria on a food break. They both support each other's acting careers and like to compete with each other in a very joking, friendly fashion.

`` Ryu Hanjin | trainee, student | 5 | Hanjin is a trainee at Jellyfish Entertainment. He didn't make the cut for VIXX but he's still trying to debut, but in the meantime he also attends Seoul National as Cinema Studies major. He helps keep Chaebin updated on school work and school social life. They're super close (close enough to wear they don't mind doing odd things like picking each others boogers). Chaebin considers him to be the almost-twin brother (Hanjin is 6 days older) that she never had.

their story - Blue attends the MAMA Awards in support of VIXX who are nominated and Jellyfish Ent artists are seated close to Cube's. Throughout the show, Chaebin abandons her idol image and cheers and dances through the various performances. Sohyun notices and join in. The two pretty much party it up together and exchange numbers, agreeing to be friends. They ended up texting and calling each other extremely frequently. Eventually, Sohyun confesses that she has never had feelings for another girl before, but she may have a crush on Chaebin.

trainee background: Chaebin entered Jellyfish Entertainment as one of the first acting trainees. She was terrible at first, taking extra acting classes before finally landing a few CF deals. In her spare time, she would sneak off to the vocal practices rooms, usually with her guitar, and sing to relax and kill time before her next lesson. One of the vocal coaches walked in on her singing, thinking she was a music trainee and was surprised when she wasn't. She soon convinced Chaebin to become an idol trainee instead of just an acting trainee.

weak points: She's the worst dancer in the group. She's only comfortable when she's acting on camera versus being herself on variety shows.
