You might be confused with some of the animals. Take MBLAQ's Lee Joon. His bday is February 7th, 1988. The year 1988 is the year of the dragon, however the year of the dragon officially starts on the 18th of February, which means the dates before the 18th belongs to the animal of the previous year. For db5k's Changmin, he's on the 18th of February of 1988, so he's born on the first date of the year of the dragon. Understand? I hope you do.

Edit: It's tricky. The Chinese New Year can start in January or February. If the animal of that year starts on the 27th of January, then any birthdate on the 1st to the 26th belongs to the previous animal. XxiaoOxuanN mentioned Yoseob. His bday is the 4th, that's before the 27th, so it's the animal of the previous year, the year of the snake, not the year of the horse because that year starts on the 27th.

You can click on this link, it tells you the dates of the year of the snake, which is Feb. 6, 1989 to Jan. 26, 1990.

Basically, if your birthdate is March to December, it's safe to say you're the animal of that year. If your birthday is in January or February, then you have to check on what date the new year officially starts.
