The Xia Family is all about order and controll. Always up tight and always strict. Ming Yao was always told to stay inside because her mother feared everything about the outside world. In all it's evil and danger. She was never allowed to play outside. But when they get visitors or guests, the atmosphere lightens up and her mother is a kind and loving mother, offering the guests all her special dishes and her father who usually doesn't even acknowledges her presences lovingly hugs and pats her head. Instead of making Ming Yao happy, she grew angry to her parents.
Her parents doesn't know this but she is very good in asnwering back because she answers back to their absurd request in the privacy of her own room. But, of course, growing in her teens, Ming Yao became very mischeviouse and would sneak out of her house at night to go out and travel the neighborhood and sometimes branching out as far as the park. In the park she met Hyohyoen, an irritatingly bright girl. At first, Ming Yao disliked Hyohyoen for her positive out-look in life but soon warmed up to this teddy bear kind of a girl. But something went wrong, her parents found out about Ming Yao's nigthly trips to the park. And as a punishment, she wasn't allowed to meet Hyoyeon for the rest of her stay at home. Ming Yao was furious so she disobeyed her parents and sneaked out to meet with Hyoyeon. When her parents found out about it, they pulled a big one. They sent Ming Yao and her brother, Chung-gri, to Seoul, Korea under the care of their stict aunt Xia Su Szhi.

Personality: This snappy but sensitive girl, Xia Ming Yao, knows how to back-talk and backstab hard.
