I finally followed a bunch of One Direction blogs on tumblr (having seen them in concert for the first time and being a fan for two years), and now I find myself thinking "Damn, I read a lot of K-Pop fanfiction, it would be nice to see what the 1D fandom has to offer."

But then I realize that much like K-Pop...a lot of that fanfiction is probably written by crazy shippers...and I do mu best to stay away from those kind of stories/people/blogs/live journal communities, and I can afford to do that because I know what to look for. So now the dilemma is, how do I immerse myself in a fandom that has a lot of crazy people, and how do I find the really good writers? Alas I feel as though it's a lost cause at this point :| I read so little K-Pop fanfiction because I'm so damn picky, I'm not sure it's worth the effort to browse a 1D fanfiction site. But that's also not a fair thing to say because I'm sure there are a lot of great writers!! The biggest problem for me is ferreting them out ><

And there in lies my dilemma--risk going into a 1D fanfiction site and potentially stumbling across a bunch of great writers, or finding a bunch of obsessive and possessive "OPPA IS WITH ME OR WITH THE BAND" type writers? Because ugh, I've had enough of those to last me a lifetime.

PS: DUDES AFF HAS A ONE DIRECTION TAG??? GOOD LORD NOW I NEED TO GO LOOK UP THE CROSSOVERS. JUST HAVE TO DO IT.

UPDATE: There's only like 2 pages of fics. Frighteningly, most of those stories don't seem to be crossovers...and they don't seem...my cup of tea. 

Lesson learned. Don't look.
