Sometimes I Forget

There are some things about KPop that I tend to forget -- some things I learned over the years, but have forgotten after tens of thousands of new groups debuted in a matter of months. Of course, that is an exaggeration, but not too much.

It's better if I write them all down just in case I forget them again.

Kai and Luhan in Exo's second debut teaser.

Exo is the epitome of misleading, especially in the age department. I think SM got their ages mixed up but since everything's released, they have to stick with it. Of course, that is a joke.

Sometimes I forget Exo's Kris is not exactly the oldest in the group. Xiumin and Luhan are both older, and both have very misleading features.

Sometimes I forget that, aside from being actually old, Exo's Luhan is a great dancer. I always see him as a vocalist, and I only remember he's actually a dancer, and a great one, I should add, when I watch his (and Kai's) teaser for their debut.

Sometimes I forget that Exo's Xiumin is nowhere near fat. Only his cheeks are, although they aren't really that chubby anymore. It's probably because of his nickname -- Baozi (Chinese for bun) which screams nothing but chubby cheeks to me.

Sometimes I forget Exo's Kyungsoo and Tao were born on the same year. When I think about it, I really can't figure out who's older. Tao looks mature physically, and Kyungsoo not so much because of his height and innocent looks. Mentally, however, it's quite the opposite. Tao is an aegyo king next to K's maknae Sehun.

Which brings me to Sehun. Sometimes I forget that Exo's Sehun is younger than The Boss' Jay, yet older than U-Kiss' Dongho. Jay will forever be the baby of KPop to me right after Taemin, who are both the babies of the whole of KPop world during each's debut days. As for Dongho, though I have accepted the fact that Dongho is young, it never crossed my mind that he's really that young. The Boss' maknae, Jay

Sometimes I forget that The Boss' Jay was my favorite KPOP dancer before Kai debuted. The Boss has been gone for a while that I tend to forget about them. I loved Boyfriend's Minwoo, too, which I tend to forget as well.

Sometimes I forget that U-Kiss' Kevin, U-Kiss ex-member Kibum, Beast's Junhyung and the whole of Dae Guk Nam Ah came from the same group. Only that Kibum, Junhyung and Dae Guk Nam Ah never stayed in the group for the same period of time. Kevin was the only one who got to be in the same group as all of them. Some previous Xing members can also be found in boy groups X-5 (which has now disbanded), LUK:US and A-Peace.

Sometimes I forget that U-Kiss' Kevin used to be the star of a whole entertainment company. He's very underrated now, but once upon a time, Kevin was moneymaker of the Xing. He sings most of the lines in any song from the company during his stay there. He's a pretty decent dancer, too, though it's not quite obvious when he dances with U-Kiss.

Which brings me to U-Kiss. Sometimes I forget U-Kiss has pretty decent dancers. Before Infinite even debuted, I admired U-Kiss for their synchronized dancing which showed in their dance video shot in a vacant parking lot. I don't remember if they're really that good or the standards back then weren't really high. I vote for the first option.

Speaking of Infinite, sometimes I forget that Infinite's L is a real person.

Sometimes I forget that Beast's Junhyung is an awesome dancer. I like his moves more than Gikwang's and Hyunseung's. He was my ultimate bias in the whole of KPop before he and Kara's Hara became an item. It's probably unreasonable for some to stop liking an idol just because he's taken, but then again I realized in real life, t's not good to like someone who's already taken. I took that as a good sign.

Sometimes I forget, no matter how sad it is, that Super Junior has been missing a member since Sorry Sorry and that was already 4 years ago. Kibum had only been active for 4 years and it's sad because Kibum is actually one of the factors why I know KPop.

Sometimes I forget that Super Junior's Leeteuk is already turning 30 this year and After School's ex-leader Kahi is already 32. Sometimes I forget, too, that Leeteuk is only a year older than 2NE1's Dara.

Sometimes I forget that there's a 4-year between Dara and Big Bang's G-Dragon and Jiyong isn't the one older than the other. And Dara is 10 years older than her group's maknae, Minzy. It's really mind-blowing.

Even more mind-blowing is that, though sometimes I forget, Lee Hi was born in 1996, making her younger than majority of the female idols. I thought she was as old as CL when I first saw her. It's cool that a young girl like her debuted solo. It's like BoA all over again.

DB5KSometimes I forget that DBSK is going to celebrate their 10th anniversary this year. They first debuted in a BoA and Britney Spears showcase, which I just realized lately. Well Britney was an icon back then. All I can hope for DBSK is that they all get to celebrate their anniversary together. I girl can wish.

Sometimes I forget DBSK's Yunho and JYJ's Jaejoong are best friends. It's such a shame that they have to be seperated. And sometimes I forget JYJ's Junsu and SJ's Eunhyuk are best friends, too.

Sometimes I forget that fans used to compare DBSK and Big Bang a lot. I used to hate Big Bang before because I loved DBSK too much. I think I was forced to take sides back then, and hiphop and baggy clothes weren't really my thing.

Sometimes I forget Big Bang's G Dragon used to be paired with Wonder Girl's Sohee and that the two groups used to share the same stage, which is pretty amusing since you almost can't see the two groups in one place now.

Sometimes I forget that Girls Generation had debut days. Back then, they weren't pretty much in the radar. Or I just didn't pay attention to them. Now, they're as big as Korea, it's not even funny.

There's so many things I tend to forget. Be certain that this blog post will be updated.
