So I just came back from auditioning for SM and wow, it was such a fun, amazing experience! I only auditioned for fun, and so I’m pretty satisfied with the fact that my voice didn’t crack or die out on the high note (although  I was kind of flat on some other notes - stupid knees that start shaking whenever I’m nervous D:). All in all, it was a really interesting experience and I’m glad I got to have it!

I arrived at the center they were holding the auditions at and the first thing I did was sign up at a table - they gave me a form asking for my name, weight, height, position auditioning for, phone number, address, etc. and when I had filled out everything and signed both sides of the form, I got a number on a sticker to put on my left chest.

They told me to wait in the waiting area, where everyone sat in chairs facing a large projector screen on the wall, where they played a bunch of music videos (Spy, Break Down, Disturbance, Dream Girl, Twinkle, I Got a Boy, Dancing Queen, Catch Me, Humanoids, Only One, and Maxstep are the mvs I remember them playing). We waited for some time, and they called us up by numbers, twenty at a time. When we were called up, they had us line up in groups of ten along the walls of the hallway leading to the audition room.

Afterwards, we got called in the room, all twenty of us, and they had ten people line up first against the wall and sing, without any introductions. Someone was filming our singing the entire time, and it went rather rapidly. The dancers waited until last to dance to a track they selected for you, someone gave a folder of his compositions and announced his works, and for modeling, someone walked up the camera and made a few poses. 

I think if you sang really well and caught the judge’s attention, she’d ask you to sing again. There was a boy in my group who sang really well and she asked him to sing another song. He was the only person in our group who sang twice, though. After everyone finished their auditions, we were allowed to go out of the room and home! 

So yeah ^^ It was a fascinating experience, and I’m really glad I got to go! Results come out next month, but I auditioned for the sake of practicing and learning how to perform and audition in front of people, so I’m fine with whatever result I get because at least I did well for myself!
