The Little Yellow Flower :)
OMO-na! It's been a while since I've last posted an entry >.< Anyways, this is a homework I've made for our free writing in English. And I just received my paper today after being checked and I can't believe that my teacher gave me a *gasps* 21/30 score. Well, I have to admit that I really expected a score which is something like 27 but 21??! D: She told us to make a poem out of a certain social issue and I picked discrimination (and well, if you noticed, in the poem there's also ion x3) I was totally speechless when I saw my score and what made me feel down even more was when I saw her comment below the paper, "Where did you get this?" So, does that mean that I copied my own poem in the internet? What the.. I was on the verge of crying but hopefully no tears came.. phewww.
Anyways, I went to the faculty room and asked her about her comment and with the score. And I was right, she really did thought that I copied my poem on the net *wails around* :L So, I told her this and that and really did convince her that I made the poem. I even said that I could show her my draft. Good thing in the end, she believed me which really made me sooo happy *victory dance* =D. And she took my paper back for re-checking.
I can't really blame her though if she gets suspicious and no, I don't hate her. Well, ok, when she first arrived I hated her guts. But this past few days she's been really nice to us and she's smiling already sooooo I TOTALLY LIK HER NOW :))
And here's the poem before I get tooooo carried away and start blabbing nonsense XD.
The Little Yellow Flower
*****
In the middle of spring
A season where you bring
Love, happiness and a new beginning
Is when a little yellow flower bloomed
Around her, birds sing, trees sway
And loomed
Everything’s bubbly and the
Cloud was never gray
She love nature and she was part of it
The little yellow flower wanted it to remain that way
Many days passed and she noticed
That the same kind of flowers but in
Different colors grew
Some were pink, others white and
The rest, like the color of honey dew
And the little yellow flower with her looks was teased
The pink flower beside her wasn’t pleased
“You look sickly and weak” she said
“Don’t you come near me. You’re ugly” she even added
The little yellow flower remained silent and
Willed herself not to cry
She wished that right there and then she’d rot and die
“Look she even lacks a petal” the white flower observed
The orange flower agreed and said, “ She’s a hideous flower.
That, she only deserves”
The little yellow flower bowed her head in shame
She pretended she can’t hear and can’t see anything
And that she’s lame
Then one day, a blue butterfly came around
And the dazzling flowers in the field he found
With enthusiasm, he went up to them and said hi
The pretty flowers giggled first before letting out
A dreamy sigh
“Who do you think is the prettiest among us?”
Asked the white flower
The butterfly replied, “That, I can’t tell since you all differ”
“By tasting our nectar will that help you decide?”
The orange flower inquired
“Well, I guess so” the blue butterfly shrugged and complied
One by one, he tasted the nectar each flower possessed
And he thought, they all taste the same
Therefore, the prettiest he could never guess
But his eyes landed on the little yellow flower who kept silent
The entire time
And noticed how humble looking she was and she
Smelled like lime
“You” the butterfly began, “is the prettiest flower I’ve ever seen”
The three of other flowers were petrified and together they screamed,
“Why her?!” they demand
She wasn’t even part of the plan
The blue butterfly circled around the yellow flower
He touched her soft petals and they were soft like a feather
The yellow flower blushed and looked away
The butterfly smiled and he thought of something to say
“She knows where she stands
And she knows who she is.
She never demands
And she’s not a beast”
“She sits in silence
And appreciate everything around her
Though she lacks confidence
She manages to pull herself together”
“And the three of you
Be ashamed of what you’ve done
You all have the beauty but
You could never be as beautiful as this one”
And with that said
The blue butterfly kissed the yellow flower goodbye
“Thank you” the flower whispered
“It’s nothing. And remember what I said, they weren’t lies”
After that incident, the yellow flower spent her days lovingly
With the other flowers towards her being too friendly
Then came the day where she had to leave
And the other flowers refused to believe
And as the yellow flower started to wilt and fade away
With a smile on her lips
She closed her eyes
And remembered what the blue butterfly had to say.
