◊ Behind the looks

Plotline: Plotline 2 - The Workaholic

Personality: Soo Hyun was born into a big family as the first. She has 3 younger sisters and 4 younger brothers. Her parents were farmers, which meant that they were constantly working the ground and did not spend much time with the kids during the day. Growing up in such an environment influenced Soo Hyun to grow into a responsible girl. She was usually the one who looked after her younger siblings when her parents were out, and acts as a second mother figure. She takes responsibility for her own actions, as well as others if they were influenced by her.

Soo Hyun is an ambitious girl, and this ambition of hers has led her to where she is now; one of the best in her field. Growing up in a farming family, she had more ambition than others as she did not find a liking to farming, and instead, wanted to make it big in the world. She always aims for the top, and her hard work and determination is what brings her the results she wants.

Soo Hyun is also an intelligent woman. Her parents raised her to be a hardworker, and this combined with her ambitions drove her to be the best of the best. Every year, without fail, she'd be the top of the class, earning her reccomendations as well as scholarships. When she received a scholarship to study in the top university in South Korea, she didn't hesitate for a moment and immediately accepted the offer and moved out of Busan by herself. Soo Hyun's intelligence is not limited to her academic achievements. She has a way with her words and is able to persuade people with her silver tongue.

Soo Hyun is one who is determined and tough. She doesn't give up easily, and is very stubborn, always making sure that she sees things through to the end.

While Soo Hyun started out simply as a hardworker, she soon turned into a workaholic  not long after entering university. She is always indulged in her work, and can never fully take a break from her work. She'd stop working very seldomly for a short break but her mind would always be on her work. She'd cut her breaks short and extend her working hours and can always find jobs to make her busy. As a result, she has started neglecting her relations, but she still remembers to provide financial support for her family every month. She can work anytime, anywhere, and always prefers work to leisure. She is competitive, and finds enjoyment in getting something new to work on everytime.

As a result from her workaholic behaviour, Soo Hyun has developed obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD), and she always feels the need to have everything neat and perfect, down to the tiniest detail, and feels like she has to have control over her environment. She finds it hard to relax, and always plans out her future activities, which she follows very closely. She is also very stressed out most of the time, causing her to eat and sleep less (insomniac), as well as a high blood pressure, and is currently being suspected of having a heart disease.

◊ More about your previous life

Background: Soo Hyun moved to Seoul to attend university and lived in the dorms. There, she slowly started to distance herself from others as she started dedicating her time to her studies, and eventually, work. This is all because of a past history with a boy. She used to date a guy in high school back in Busan, and she dedicated herself to him. They had been together for their entire high school years, until she found out that he had slept with her best friend behind her back during their last year in high school. Heartbroken, she broke up with him immediately and when the offer from the university came, she immediately accepted it and started dedicating herself to her studies to block out all her thoughts on him. This is the reason why she distances herself from the social world and dedicates all her time to her work.

◊ The Lover

So, you wanna be stranded with him?

◊ Basic Information

Plotline: Plotline 1 - The Adventurer

Name: Lee Taemin

Age:25

Occupation: Soldier (private)

Personality:Taemin appears to be an insensitive man who always seems indifferent and oblivious to others' feelings. He just seems to shrug off every single problems and doesn't make the effort to try and understand one's feelings, and can even seem impatient when others 'bore' him with their troubles and worries. Someone would be letting out their frustrations or telling their sob story and he'd just wait for them to finish before walking away, telling them that he hadn't even asked them to share their tales with him, and sometimes, he'd even stop you halfway if he runs out of patience. However, underneath that callous exterior, he is still the sweetheart he is, secretly paying attention to those he feels need it. And when someone's alone and breaking down, he'd quietly go up to them and lend them a shoulder to cry on. Not only does he act insensitive, but he is actually quite oblivious to his surroundings and people's feelings and blanks out easily.

While he doesn't seem to care about other people's problems, he is still a friendly boy who is constantly smiling, fake or real. He is a shy boy, and isn't the type to go up to everyone to start a friendship, but he doesn't push people away. He willingly accepts people as friends and treats them well, so long as they do not share all of their problems with him. The only ones he truly shows his care for are his close friends and family. Once you're close to him, he becomes extremely loyal to you, and is willing to stand by you through anything. The darkest thought you ever had, the worst thing you ever did, he'd stand by you through anything. But the one thing he can't forgive is betraying this trust by deliberately doing something to hurt him. Once the trust is lost, it'd be almost impossible to gain it back.

Taemin is a risk-taker, which is one of the reasons he joined the army. He wanted some form of excitement and adventure in his life, and joining the army seemed to be the best option. He wouldn't have to worry about flight costs for when they journey overseas, and joining the army was already a risk. He immediately joined up the army when he was 18 for his mandatory service, and after that, found that there was nothing that could provide with with risks and excitement without costing him a lot of money, and he thus signed up to be a soldier. He is adventurous, and is always up for a little exploring.

Taemin is adaptable, and is able to adapt to new environments and people quickly. Leave him on an island he has never been to for a day and he would make it seem like he's been living there for years. Part of this adaptability of his came from all the life skills he picked up from his father and time in the military.

He has an unpredictable personality, mainly due to his adventurous nature. He'd get caught up in the moment and just make all his decisions without thinking of the consequences they would hold for him. It'd have to take someone with an IQ of 200 that is able to think ahead of all the events to happen and the different reactions he'd have and what the consequences are to be able to predict him, and people like that are rare.

How do you act around each other:Taemin first notices that Soo Hyun keeps worrying about every little detail and her work, which clashes with his personality as he is not the exactly a neat person. Taemin would occasionally criticize the things she do, which causes her to panic as she is a perfectionist, and he'd feel bad seeing her worry about every little detail, thinking about all the other things she could've done to end up with a better result, and he'd tell her (sometimes yell at her because she blocks people out when she's working and panicking) that what she's done is perfect. As Soo Hyun has some health problems, Taemin would notice this and stops giving her a hard time, not wanting to rack up her stress levels which would be bad for her high blood pressure and possible heart disease. As Soo Hyun slowly stops thinking about her work all the time (with the help of The Dreamer), she becomes more approachable, but still manages to keep herself busy. The Young Mother, The Dreamer, The Leader, and The Playboy all think that she might be doing too much work and needs a proper break, and so, they scheme with Taemin to give her a break, but this break goes horribly wrong as Taemin takes her to a waterfall and she starts remembering her ex who had also once taken her to a waterfall. She'd be breaking down but not tell him anything, and feeling bad, he would calm her down and get her to talk, and he'd realise that they were in the same situation; unable to forget the past. Instead of his usual insensitive side, he'd comfort her and talk to her about his own past as well, referring to themselves as the 'leftovers'. It is during this time that they start falling for each other and these feelings soon come to light, thanks to the help of the other castaways who try to get them together (like them helping him realise that he likes her).

Background:Taemin's father was in the military, and as a result, they moved all over the place. From Korea to London to America; they moved all over the place. He finally returned to Korea when he was 17 and after a year in high school, he signed up for his mandatory service, wanting to get it over with. At the time, he had a girlfriend whom he got together with in high school. During his service, they never met with each other, and instead, kept contact through letters. Those two years went by ever so slowly, but Taemin found excitement in his service and the letters sent to him comforted him. As the first year went by, the frequency of the letters started decreasing, and during the second year towards the end of his service, she sent him a letter, stating that she had already gotten engaged with his best friend. Heartbroken Taemin could not face her, and thus signed back up to join the army as a proper soldier, and since then, kept on signing up for more services as the adventure kept his mind busy.

Plotline 2: "I only need paper and ink"

Why did she become a workaholicTo escape from the thoughts of her ex, and also for her high ambitions.

How will she react on the storm?:She'd at first, freak out. She'd try both her phones and her laptop, and if nothing works, she'd try the other stranded castaways' devices. She'd panic over her job and whine to herself, and when she realises that she needs something to do, she'd actively start looking for things to do.

◊  The Boys ◊

What did his ex do: She couldn't wait for him during those two years and ultimately left him for his best friend.

Well, these are the things he'd say, but his ideal type changes all the time in the way that the girl he falls in love with becomes his ideal type. So really, the only kind of girl that can make his heart beat again is someone who he can share a connection with.

◊ The Extras

Have anything more to say?

Comments: Hope I didn't miss anything. I was thinking of applying as a guy, but then I realised that I don't really know girl idols well enough to have them as a love interest.

Soo Hyun is simply someone who keeps her distance away from crowds, not shy. She is not afraid to talk to strangers, but has just never had the chance to do so in her usual daily life. After being left stranded on an island and left with no technology and work, she starts to get a chance at socialising with others, though she doesn't have any particular fondness for this. She still stays away from crowds, but would not hesitate to talk to others when left alone.

I don't think she'd make a lot of effort to be friends with the criminal (as she is quiet), but she wouldn't mind becoming friends with her (she just wouldn't go out of her way to talk to her).

With the heiress, she'd probably clash with her (the spoiled attitude) but would probably become friends later on.

With the mother, she'd find her tolerable and would be able to get along well with her, and the Handy girl would take some time getting used to but she'd have fun around her.

With the bride, she'd really not like her at all due to her dependence on her husband and if it gets too much for her to handle, she'd probably just tell her straight to her face to grow a backbone.

With the Adventurer, she'd find him reckless and childlike, but would probaly start having fun around with him (much like the handy girl).

She'd really not get along well with the bad boy due to his rebellious nature and her control-freakness (?), but I think that they'd be able to get along well (perhaps after some character developement).

With the dreamer, she'd really want to be someone like him who is able to take things easy and relax, but she'd at first find him sort of useless (?) and irritating (for his laidback attitude), but as time passes, she'd start to admire him.

She'd have a bit of a cat-dog relationship with the leader in that they are both control-freaks and because she's a perfectionist, she'd find every single fault in his plans and tell him to fix them up right away, and that would cause a lot of fights. But because they're both responsible and hardworking people, I think that trait would enable them to get along well (perhaps when they're working on something together).

With the playboy, she'd really not like him (due to her ex), and if he's really just an as*hole, she'd really not get along with him at all, but if he's deeper than that, then perhaps in time.

With the groom, she'd probably not mind him as much as the others, but would not find any fault with him.

Scene suggestions:I think I covered this in the part under how she and Taemin act together.

Hehe! Your bias is all of SHINee? XD

Now, I think her personality is quite fitting for the plotline. I always imagined the Workaholic as kind of a control freak. I think it would be quite funny to see how she works with the Leader...

Now, Taemin would be so happy to se that you pictured him as a manly guy. :)

I see nothing to be changed. It's really good! ^^
